Note: When servicing your truck with Air Lift air springs installed, if the truck is lifted by the frame, the air must be let out of the springs. And if the rear of the truck is lifted during service, then it must be supported by jack stands to avoid damage to the air springs.
This LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus air spring kit has rustproof stainless steel components that offer long-lasting durability. These components are the roll plates, braided air lines, and air spring attachment hardware.
The roll plates protect the air springs from damage and beef up their load capacity. These sturdy plates help guard the springs from moving parts under your vehicle that might puncture the air bags. The plates also provide a larger surface area for each spring to roll on. The extra surface area gives you a higher spring rate at a lower air pressure, resulting in a better ride.
The stainless steel air lines are tougher than nylon airlines and last a lot longer. They offer extra protection against damage caused by sharp edges and flying road debris.
And the air spring attachment hardware provides excellent corrosion resistance.
The air springs and jounce springs in this system work together to give you the best ride whether your truck is loaded or unloaded. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus air springs have internal urethane foam jounces that protect the air springs and provide added ride comfort when your air pressure is low. The jounces also allow you to temporarily carry a load if the air springs lose air pressure. This gives your 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton pickup truck air springs that are easier to maintain.
Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts extra stress on your truck. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even inaccurate and unsafe headlight aim.
By pairing your existing suspension with LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus air springs, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and get the support you need. The springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity (depending on the weight-carrying capacity of your vehicle) and distribute the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your factory suspension is significantly reduced. LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated equally for front-to-back leveling or independently of one another for side-to-side leveling.
The air springs are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends where the bag is enclosed with steel caps. These caps can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air.
The closed-cell urethane jounce spring inside each air spring gives you a more stable, comfortable ride. Each jounce acts as an overload spring and engages when your current air pressure level isn't enough to support your load. So on a rough road, the springs will kick in if needed to absorb bumps and shocks and help you to avoid bottoming out. When the jounces support a load, they adjust progressively - the more weight you pile on, the stiffer they become. The urethane material engages more smoothly than rubber jounces so you get a less jerky ride.
Because these jounces are taller than your factory jounce bumpers, they engage sooner than your factory jounces would to provide better support. And if the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus air springs have insufficient or zero air pressure, the internal jounces will help to temporarily support your suspension and protect it from damage until you can repair or adjust the air spring system.
This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump in air through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the manual inflation valves (one for each spring). Any air line excess must be coiled up and secured out of the way, so it won't get damaged. The air line cannot be cut or trimmed. And the valves are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere that is easily accessible. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately) that allows you to monitor and adjust the springs from the cab of your truck.
Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove and return them for a full refund.

Hi there, heavy haulers. Today, we're going to be taking a look at Air Lift's line of LoadLifter series airbags with braided stainless steel lines and stainless steel roll plates. These airbags are custom-fit for your vehicle, so I recommend using our fit guide here at etrailer to ensure you get the right fit. And this is what our airbags look like when they're installed. They install between the axle and the frame of the vehicle, and they have internal jounce bumpers inside them, since we do remove the factory jounce bumper. Also do we just remove the factory jounce bumper, but the entire jounce bumper mounting.
So it's nice that these have that internal jounce bumper for when we're running in conditions maybe where we're unloaded or just a minor load and we've got just a little bit of air in the bags, in the event that we do bottom out, we have that bumper in there to ensure that we don't have any contact and cause any damage to our suspension components. These bags are going to allow you to inflate each side independently as well. So this is great, because you can increase the pressure on one side versus the other to help compensate for uneven loads. And this is our stainless steel kit we're showing off today. The roll plates on top will help ensure that as our suspension rolls, that we've got support for the bags all the way around, some additional support there. That's an increased surface area on the bag to help support the bag for those heavier loads that are going to shift from one side to the other, in a sway condition.
Being stainless steel means that they're going to be corrosion resistance. You don't have to worry about them rusting. And included with this kit you're also going to get upgraded steel lines from the regular quarter-inch hose that comes with it. These steel lines are going to be a larger, thicker, more heavy-duty line than what your quarter-inch lines are. And you can see that they are flexible lines. So you can easily route this line in any kind of location that you need to, because we are going up over our components here, we're wrapping around some stuff.
It's nice that the line is still plenty flexible while being a stronger, heavy-duty line. These bags have an operating pressure between five and 100 PSI. Five PSI is going to be your unloaded condition where you're just normally driving the truck. And it is important that you have that five pounds of pressure in there because if you have no air in there and your suspension is moving up and down, it kind of creates like a suction, like a vacuum, and that can cause the bag to collapse. So that five pounds is going to ensure it maintains its shape. Now these airbags offer 5,000 pounds of support.
Now, this doesn't increase the carrying capacity of your vehicle, this is just how much that these are able to help assist your current suspension in supporting. With these, 100 pounds is the maximum pressure, so that's going to give you your maximum for that 5,000 pounds. But in most cases, when you're loading up your truck, you're not going to be at that 100 pounds. That's going to give you a really stiff ride. From what I've found in most situations, if you have a really heavy load, what's kind of topping out your truck, most of the time between 40 and 50 pounds is going to be a good spot. And that's going to help keep you from putting too much pressure in there and really destroying your ride. Now, sometimes if you are loaded enough, you do have to go to those higher pressures. Just be aware that once you get up over 40 to 50 pounds, it is going to get pretty stiff here in the back. Now, these are manually inflatable airbags. You can see here where I've routed our air fittings to the back of our truck. If you prefer an automated solution, so you can air them up on the go, I recommend Air Lift's WirelessOne compressor system. It includes a Bluetooth remote or works via phone app, so you don't even have to leave the vehicle to air them up. So, our customer just recently installed a gooseneck on his truck here. So we're going to go ahead and put some water weight in the back to simulate the tongue weight. So now we're going to go ahead and hit our test course with our factory suspension. So we're going to go ahead and start on our bumps course. First, it's going to be the uneven bumps section, which is going to simulate hitting a pothole. And the suspension is fairly smooth, but you can definitely tell that we are slammed down in the back. So those coil springs do a nice, smooth job, but they're definitely not supporting the weight that I would feel comfortable with. I can see the hood just lifted up here right now. It's almost reduced my visibility of what I can see right in front of me a little bit. Next, we're going to be going into the even bump section. And this is going to simulate like pulling into and out of your driveway or going over a speed bump. And when we hit these, again, it is fairly smooth, but you can tell that the back's really not supporting a lot of weight. You can feel those jounce bumpers when the back suspension hits. So we're just cruising here in the parking lot. If we we're to hit those bumps at any kind of speed, like you would out there on the highway, you would really notice that there'd be quite a slam there at the back. We're now going to go ahead and get into our slalom section here, which is going to simulate an evasive maneuver. And with our suspension the way it is now, it does feel awfully soft on this truck. So we're going to see how it is but I'm expecting it to be. Oh yeah, even a little bit of movement, you can feel a lot of sway. I don't feel comfortable at all taking this truck about any faster than we are with this kind of weight in here. We're now going to hit our test course once again, since we've got everything loaded up, we've got our airbags in. We're going to start in that uneven bump section. And I can already tell that the ride is significantly smoother than it was before. At the back, when the backs would hit, you could feel it was kind of stiff on the back. We we're already on our jounce bumper so there was really no back give. Now you can actually feel the back end of the truck going over the suspension, the suspension moving. And it's very smooth. It feels actually really good. Now we're going into the even bump section and this is, again, like going in and out of a driveway. And again, it feels very smooth. We do have a little bit of a bounce in the back and that's likely because of our coil springs, and the airbags do have a little bit of a bounce coming up off of it, but it's not real bad and it definitely makes the ride significantly smoother than what it was before. So now we're going to head into the slalom section and this is where we're going to simulate an evasive maneuver. When we get into this section you can tell it definitely has made an improvement. The truck feels a lot smoother and I have a lot more confidence making evasive maneuvers. And that completes our look at Air Lift's LoadLifter series airbags with stainless steel accessories.

5,000-lb Capacity. These air springs have internal bumpers to provide the adjustable load support of air springs and the comfort and reliability of jounce springs. Durable stainless steel roll plates, air lines, and hardware are rustproof. These Airlift 5000 Airbags are EVERYTHING they are advertised to be! Ordered them from etrailer and they were here is 5 days with no shipping charge. Price was the same as I would've paid through that big box website but the personalized service I received from Brenden really made the difference. Thanks Bud! I chose to have my local repair shop install them only because I didn't want to take the time to do it myself. I have a 2016 Ram Crew Cab and I haul a 7' X 16' enclosed cargo trailer. I tried to utilize a weight distributing hitch to take care of the rear sag but there was just not enough ground clearance for the torsion bars. Some suggested airbags instead and WOW...what a difference. I can't believe how much better the truck rides even with no load on the truck. Should have bought these a LONG time ago!

Ultimate Plus is ok. Not 100% Stainless Steel parts but better then non stainless kit. I did not like the stainless steel braided airline. It was too short to reach across to the other side so both valves could be in the same spot for easy air up/down. I had to get a coupler from another source and it was proned to leakage with the slightest movement. I did fix the slight leak with some slime in the line from the valve backwords as the coupler was hard to get at and not sure if it leaked there or not. I did check were I could but found no leaks. So slime fixed it. I would of preferrred their normal airlines which are plastic and easy to install.

etrailer has never disappointed me with product offering or shipping quickly. Assembly and installation went just as described in the instruction documentation and etrailer videos. The only point was the kit didn’t include one bolt to secure the driver side ebrake cable on installations that do not use the u bolts.

Super easy installation but if you get the stainless steel lines, it won’t connect to the Air Lift compressor. Also, tighten the lines at the bag before tightening the upper brackets. There will be no room afterwards. The instructions do not tell you this. Otherwise, the bags are great. Don’t let a couple minor instruction issues deter you. ETrailer is the place to buy all your truck needs.

The bags work great with the wireless compressor. I had my right rear stainless braided airline burst and need to get a replacement. Besides that they work awesome! Just ordered a new F-450 and will definitely be putting a set on it as well. Let me know where I need to call to get a replacement. Thanks

Hard to rate the bags themselves as I haven't used them pulling the fifth wheel yet. I think they are going to be great. As for installation, it was a big pain in the *^$. Airlift needs to try and do an install following their instructions( or lack of ). Good thing I have extra nuts and washers around, I needed some. That engineer is probably still laughing, and I still cuss when I look at them, it could have been a lot easier with better direction.

I've owned 3/4 ton trucks since 1981 and regret buying a light duty truck when I'm hauling and towing. A close call with an overloaded trailer and the State Police forced me to upgrade my suspension. My search started with overload springs and bump stops but the negatives (for me) was everyday ride quality with springs and remaining load sag with bump stops. I considered a weight distribution hitch but I'm pulling different trailers and hauling firewood in the bed. Everything mentioned above narrowed it down to air springs so a lot of product comparisons were made and questions were asked to truck mechanics and owners. My decision to purchase this kit was because of the braided stainless steel air lines. Their threaded connection eliminates air leaks and they're much more durable than thin plastic lines when I'm in the woods cutting firewood. These Air Lift bags were installed on a 2011 Silverado 1500 with the help of a friend and his high lift and it took us about 2 1/2 hours. There's a front leveling kit in this truck and with the air bag pressure at 8 lbs., the hitch level rose 3/4 inch and the ride quality (when empty) is the same as before. When I pulled an 8' x 16' enclosed trailer and 1000 motorcycle last week, the air bags pressure was increased to 30 lbs. and it pulled perfectly. The truck was very smooth at speeds up to 80 mph and there's no sway in the turns at all. My negatives are: : Without an electric air pump, it's kind of a pain to add air manually. A small (2 gal.) portable tank that I can fit under the back seat will solve that. : The mounting hardware in this kit was not stainless steel. : etrailer does not have a "T" connector for these air lines. They sent two different fittings - one was part #AL21838 for plastic lines and the second fitting (from Air Lift) only had one threaded connector. After waiting 9 days for the second fitting, I found a brass fitting locally for $4.

Good directions very well built. I’m impressed. The only thing I would change is it should include a T for the air lines so you can run just one valve stem.

Excellent product and service. Shipping was lightning fast and product was well packaged. This took about 2 hours for me to install and it works like a million bucks on my 2019 Ram 2500. Glad I got the upgraded version. The product is high quality all the way and instructions were very good. Now, no sagging at all when I load a ton of paver stone in the bed. Will definitely do business with retailer again.

After a year of use it still works great. If I had any complaints it’s that the heat shield has a rattle at idle, but I can only hear it when I’m outside the truck. I look at it like a nature of the beast kind of thing.
