Note: When servicing your truck with Air Lift air springs installed, if the truck is lifted by the frame, the air must be let out of the springs. And if the rear of the truck is lifted during service, then it must be supported by jack stands to avoid damage to the air springs.

Get the Best of Both Springs

The air springs and jounce springs in this system work together to give you the best ride whether your truck is loaded or unloaded. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have internal urethane foam jounces that protect the air springs and provide added ride comfort when your air pressure is low. The jounces also allow you to temporarily carry a load if the air springs lose air pressure. This gives your 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton pickup, motor home, or commercial truck air springs that are easier to maintain.

Air Springs Level Your Load

Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts extra stress on your truck. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even inaccurate and unsafe headlight aim.

By pairing your existing suspension with LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and get the support you need. The springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity (depending on the weight-carrying capacity of your vehicle) and distribute the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your factory suspension is significantly reduced. LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated equally for front-to-back leveling or independently of one another for side-to-side leveling.

The air springs are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends where the bag is enclosed with steel caps. These caps can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air.

Roll plates on Air Lift 5000 Ultimate air spring

The air bags also have Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which protect the air springs and beef up their load capacity. These sturdy plates help guard the springs from moving parts under your vehicle that might puncture the air bags. The plates also provide a larger surface area for each spring to roll on. The extra surface area gives you a higher spring rate at a lower air pressure, resulting in a better ride.

Built-In Jounce Springs Add Control and Comfort

Air Lift 5000 Ultimate air spring with jounce spring inside

The closed-cell urethane jounce spring inside each air spring gives you a more stable, comfortable ride. Each jounce acts as an overload spring and engages when your current air pressure level isn't enough to support your load. So on a rough road, the springs will kick in if needed to absorb bumps and shocks and help you to avoid bottoming out. When the jounces support a load, they adjust progressively - the more weight you pile on, the stiffer they become. The urethane material engages more smoothly than rubber jounces so you get a less jerky ride.

Because these jounces are taller than your factory jounce bumpers, they engage sooner than your factory jounces would to provide better support. And if the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have insufficient or zero air pressure, the internal jounces will help to temporarily support your suspension and protect it from damage until you can repair or adjust the air spring system.

Easy Installation

This system has no-drill, bolt-on installation with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump in air through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the manual inflation valves (one for each spring). These are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere that is easily accessible. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately) that allows you to monitor and adjust the springs from the cab of your truck.

Lifetime Warranty

Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove and return them for a full refund.

Video Transcript for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs Installation - 2015 Ram 1500

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the airlift, Loadlifter 5000 ultimate air helper springs with internal jounce bumper. The part number is AL88370. Now, to get back to level we're using about 50 PSI in our airbags. They're rated from five to 100. That's gonna give us some flexibility there plus and minus. Now, the thing you wanna keep in mind about this it doesn't add hauling capacity to your truck.

Your truck can only haul what it's rated for. This just makes it easier on the truck while we're doing it and gets everything back level. We're taking a lot of that pressure off that rear suspension. We're not gonna have to worry about premature wear. By getting that front-end back down we're gonna restore handling, braking, and that suspension geometry so we'll get good tire wear. Now, you can see the double convoluted design here.

It's where we have a small bag here, a small bag here. Now, these are connected as one but rather than the old single style more of a pancake bag. You can see these are gonna take up a lot less room when inflated and deflated. There is an internal jounce bumper that is built in. That's gonna come down and will act just like your original factory jounce bumper.

If we don't have a load in we've got our bags at the minimum pressure of five PSI. If we do hit any really large potholes or jump up on a curb that's gonna take care of any of that access force. Now, the benefit of the dual inflation valves is that it allows us to account for off-center loads. If one side of our truck has a heavier load in it then the other side we can adjust that accordingly to get everything nice and level. They bolt right on to factory connection points. It eliminates the need for any drilling or modifications to the vehicles frame.

Got a heavy duty design the black powder coat finish so we really shouldn't have to worry about corrosion for a very long time. The airbags themselves made of a very high-grade rubber so the dirt and the grim that we generally pick up on the road like the salt's debris stuff like that really shouldn't have any effect on them. All right, we're gonna start by assembling one of our airbags. We're gonna do the driver side. Driver and passenger are almost identical with the exception of where this is positioned. You can see this is offset a little bit. We got plate here no plate here. The other one's gonna be centered. Everything else is gonna be just the same. We're gonna take our elbow fitting here. We're gonna tighten that end hand tight. Then we need to go another turn and a half. We're gonna use a half inch wrench. There's one and a half. You see that's still able to rotate so we can get it pointed the direction we want.Next thing we'll do is we'll take our plate that's gonna go right over the top. We'll align the holes with the threaded holes in the top of the airbag. You can see the two holes in our bracket. We also wanna align those with the threaded holes. Once those are aligned we're gonna take our screws place those in and get them started. Now, we wanna torque these down per the instructions. We're using a 7/32 hex bit to do it. Now, we'll go to the other side. We'll put our plate on. We're gonna put this plate on. Now, there's an angle here. We want the notch in this plate to be on the same side as that angle. Get those lined up.We get our screws started. We're gonna torque those down per the instructions as well. All right. That'll take care of assembling the driver side. We're gonna do the same thing for the passenger side. Now, we're gonna take our jounce bumpers out. You can see this is our axle, this is the passenger side. It's gonna be right up here it's placed into this cup. What we're gonna do is rotate it. Pull down at the same time. You can see it's just gonna pop out. We're gonna do that for the passenger side and the driver side. Now, we've got our airbag assembly. We've got our carriage bolts. We're gonna drop these in the angled bracket here. This one's slotted so they just slide in. We're gonna place this right up on top of our strike plate. Where our jounce bumper used to hit. As we do this we want to have those two hooks on the backside engage underneath that. That hook comes down. We want that to go in and under just like that. Now, as we slide this forward into position we want to ensure that those bolts come through those holes that are in that strike plate. This one's gonna be right in here in that control arm opening.Once we have both of those to come through we're gonna take our 3/8 serrated locknuts. We're gonna thread those on. For this one, you'll need to use a socket and extension to get it in there. Now, what I like to do is just use a little shop towel and put it around that nut. Place it in. You can see that holds it pretty well. Now, we need to go in there get it started on that nut or get the nut started on the bolt I guess. Once we get both of them started we wanna snug them down. Then we're gonna torque them to the specifications which are listed in your instructions. Now, we're gonna assemble the rest of our upper bracket here. This is gonna be one of two ways depending on whether you've got a two-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive. For a two-wheel-drive application, you're gonna take the larger opening one that we've got here. We want this tab to come through this metal slot. It's just gonna slide it in. Just like that. That's all you'll need to do on your two-wheel-drive configuration, of course, you wanna put the cotter pin in.For our four-wheel-drive application, we need this to go a slot below that. We're also gonna be using this one and it's gonna go in the uppermost slot. Just like that. Once we have those two through the cotter pin goes down through. I'm just gonna flex that out. That's what we'll use to keep those plates in position while we mount it. Now, we're gonna slide our upper bracket around our bumper there or the bumper pocket anyway. Our U-Bolts gonna go around like this. The lower part of the bumper that wide flange goes in this slot. The rest of it will be up here. We'll lift that up a little bit. Slide that all the way in. Then bring that U-Bolt through. Then we can thread on our two nuts. Again, we're using 3/8 locking flange nuts here. We'll just get that pretty close to secure. Finger tight for now should be all right. Now, while we still have this loose we need to close the gap between the top of our lower bracket here and the bottom of our upper bracket. We're gonna use some pole jacks just put enough pressure on it to get that to close up. If you're working on the ground you could just lower your jack a bit. You can see how come up like that is gonna allow us to rotate that to get all of our holes in line. Now, we're gonna take our carriage bolts and on the backside, we're gonna drop them down through the upper bracket there. Loosely install a couple of our flange nuts. Now, for the front side of the air spring, we're gonna put our carriage bolts up through the bottom. Then we'll put our nut on the top. Now, we wanna adjust our bracket here. Make it pretty even. Once we do that we're gonna snug our hardware up here. Don't need to torque it yet. For these and really any hardware in this kit you're gonna be using a 9/16 inch socket. Now, we need to push up and ensure that our airbag is as high as it can be. See, we're making contact with the bottom of the frame right there. That's what we're looking for. Now, let's get our U-Bolt snug down and torqued. Now, once our U-Bolts torqued down properly we'll move to the rest of the bolts on our upper bracket and get those done. All right. That takes care of getting the airbags installed. We need to take care of our airlines now. I'm gonna take this down and we're gonna pick it up by the tires at this point. Temporarily, we can let these our axle hang while we do this but it's not something you wanna do for an extended period of time. Now, we're gonna choose a place to put our inflation valves. You've got options. You can put them really just about anywhere you want as long as it's within distance of the airline length that you've got. Some people put them up here where the license plate screws are. I think that gives it a nice look. Some people like it in the fuel door. I'm putting ours right over here. We had good clearance in behind there. There's nothing back there that we'll have to worry about.I'm setting them about an inch apart. I don't know if you can see these little marks or not. I just used a piece of that ink pen there. You've got equal even down from the top. We just got them spread out there. We'll get our holes drilled. We're using 5/16 inch drill bit. Now, to get the lines in place we're gonna start by putting one of the nuts threading it down on. We've got our serrated washer there. I'm gonna bring these in and through. Now, onto those. We're wanna add one of our rubber washers. I've got a flat washer. I'll thread on one of the nuts there. You can adjust these for length in and out. You just wanna, of course, make sure you got enough to when you hit it with an air chuck. It's where you press in that center core. Now, we'll just use a 1/2 inch socket. Get those snug down. Run your caps on them.Next thing we're gonna do is get our airline ran. We need to avoid any damage areas. That would be sharp edges, heat sources things like that. In our case, we've got a couple of cross members that run here. I'm gonna go up over those. That'll keep it up above our spare tire. All right. Now, we should be able to sit those side to side and use a zip tie. Get them secured off here. All right. Now, you can see where the exhaust in our application here. It comes pretty close to our airbag. That's something we wanna have protected. We're gonna use the provided heat shield. You can see its got the two tabs. You just wanna bend those a little bit. Those are gonna sit against the exhaust and we use the hose clamps to secure it. We'll probably go on about that angle right there. We wanna open our hose clamps up all the way. Bring it around our exhaust. I'm doing it here and I'm just gonna slide it up. Get those to where it started. Then we'll need a 5/16. We'll use that to pretension it a little bit. Or, to at least take some of the slack out. That'll be fine. Slide that one up there. Get our next one done. Now, we'll slide those clamps up. See how we do it like this. It's gonna engage on those tabs. It's just a matter of tightening them down. Once you have your shield held in the position you want. Now, we're gonna trim this excess clamp off of there. Then if you want to you can flux that heat shield just a little bit. Give it a little bit of a contour. All right. Now, we've allowed our axle to hang again. Not all the way we still gotta it supported slightly. These lines are gonna be dynamic. These are gonna move as the suspension goes up and down since we're connecting at the bottom. We need to make our connections with our axle down to accommodate for that. Now, it's really important when you do this that you get a nice clean straight cut. Use a two-beam cutter to do that. Then it's just a push fit. You're gonna push it in. You'll feel one little click there. You need to push it in further until it bottoms out. Then you should be able to pull on it without it separating. You can see how we've got a nice loop there. We're gonna do the same thing for our other side here. You can see we're gonna be a little bit close to the exhaust right up here. That's where we're gonna use the protectors that come in the kit. Let me get this trimmed and I'll show you. These will just slide over like that. Then we use a zip tie to keep that close to that exhaust giving us that protection. Then that one will go into upper bag. All right. Let's throw one zip tie around that. That's just gonna compress it. Help it to grab ahold that way we don't have to worry about it moving. It's time to add a little bit of air into the system. We're gonna go up to about 45 PSI. We'll check for leaks. Now, with the pressure in our bags, we're gonna check for leaks. We're gonna use some soap water solution. We need to spray it where that airline goes into the elbow. Also where that elbow goes into our airbag. We wanna do that on both sides. Let it sit for a few minutes. Check and make sure you don't have any bubbles forming. While these shouldn't be an issue here in the back because they we're factory set it's not a bad idea just to put a little bit in there to make sure those cores are seated all the way. As you can after a few minutes we don't have any issues. We don't have any of those small bubbles forming. We'll be in good shape. That's gonna complete our installation of the airlift, Loadlifter 5000 ultimate air helper springs. Part number AL88370 on our 2015 Ram 1500.

Super easy install! Took roughly 1.5 hours start to finish. With the no drill mount it couldn’t get any easier. Great upgrade for anyone’s truck. 637010

Air bags work great when the truck is fully loaded but the ride is very brutal when the truck is empty and only 5psig in the bags. The internal bump stops appear to be a little bit to long or stiff. The install was very easy and took less then 2 hours, overall very nice product. 581041

Work perfect! I installed these on my 2014 tundra to help with hauling a 30’ enclosed trailer when we were moving. Trailer weighed basically my max tow rating for my truck (10500lbs) and with these bags the truck sat perfectly level and towed like a dream! Well the supercharger also helped. 521145

Air Lift Loadlifter 5000 is doing the job I had hoped for and doing what the data listed for them said. I know the installation time shown by the "professionals" was said to be about 4 hours, but when you are 70+ years old and retired, I took more like 12 hours and enjoyed a lot of laying down during the installation. Which I did by myself. I would recommend these air lifts to anyone that wants to improve the "Ford Tough" ride and lift the rear to support any load, in my case, a 5th wheel trailer. 467900

After about a year the Air Lifts are doing just great! The 5th wheel trailer that loads the rear axle now rides level and is exactly why I purchased the Air Lifts. Easy to add or reduce air pressure as needed. Thanks for asking.

This product is awesome. It only took me about two hours to put it on my Ram 2500 using standard hand tools. I paired it with the WirelessOne compressor system and it’s perfect. It eliminated my trailer squat and actually makes my truck ride better even without the trailer. If you’ve got a Ram that needs a little bit more suspension, look no further! 541542

The staff at etrailer was great. They verified that this product would fit my application even though there is a fifth wheel rail bracket involved. Also I ordered multiple products and one of the products was delayed. The offered to split the order so I could receive the air bags sooner, which I needed because I have an appointment to have them installed 425153

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Good day gents, I recently purchased the load lifter 5k. So far this is a fantastic product. They are rugged and heavy duty. everything bolts up nice and tight. I separated my instillation by two days; left side one day and right side the next it was a comfortable and less stressful pace. The instructions were a little difficult to follow but they include several schematics to refer to. I haven't experienced any leaks so far and they are holding pressure. There is an aftermarket super glide 5th wheel hitch in my truck so I did have to use a 1/2" drill to reveal the holes in my frame. Also if you have a hitch like mine or any aftermarket hitch you might need a longer 8x55 mm bolt for the left side that you won't find out until later....yea. I pull a 14k fifth wheel with my F250 and it works out great. Thanks again for an excellent solution. 200336

Installed load lifter 5000 plus with the smart air 2 single path on a 2015 F250. I pull a 30’ travel trailer with a GVRW of ~10k and looking for a product to work with my weight distribution hitch to keep the truck level. Good product all the necessary fittings are in package, install was not difficult. Took me a bit to figure out the magnet placement for the auto leveling, but a call to customer service helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. The staff is very helpful and helped with original order and troubleshooting. Only issue I had was the clamps for the heat shield were to small. 574940

been towing for 15 years and owned a 41' 5'er for the past 2. All i can say is WOW!!!! such a difference in towing!!!!!! i also installed the in cab compressor controller as well so that i could monitor the air pressure in the bags(buy more air hose for compressor kit, what's included was not quite enough). Installation was a lil time consuming as i had broken a socket and rounded out one bolt(my fault). I personally found it easier to watch vids for the install vs using the manuals but that's jus me. Quick ship by etrailer and product has exceeded my expectations!!! highly recommend this product for anyone towing regardless of trailer type. 528335

Easy to install, easy to understand instructions. good fit and finish. I pull a 12K 5th wheel toy hauler and like my rig to stay level even when loaded. I've used Air lift on two of my trucks and upgraded this time to the bags with internal jounce bumpers because it seemed like a good idea. I just got back from a 240 mile trip and they worked perfectly. Makes a big difference when the road drops out and the 5th wheel comes down hard. No bottoming out and no bounce back. 232705

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 installed on a 2016 F350, pulling a Momentum 328M. While it was not the cure all for ride quality that some claim, there was an improvement in ride quality, especially at bridge joints and rail road tracks and my headlights are now back on the road when towing the RV. Shipping was prompt and all parts needed were included with the kit. Installation was simple (watching the video helped a lot), getting the rear of the truck elevated (I drove mine up on a set of ramps) and removing the spare tire simplified the process as it allowed me to sit under the truck. I had one leak at the fitting where the air hose screws into the air spring, it was repaired by removing the fitting, applying teflon tape, and reinstalling. I am satisfied with the product and would recommend to anyone considering adding air springs. 402956

Watched the video, took about an hour to do the installation myself. I added this product to level out truck when hauling my fifth wheel camper. Overall great craftsmanship on this product, easy installation. I just couldn’t drill holes in my new bumper for the valve stems, so I add a piece of aluminum angle iron, drilled two 5/16 holes and added two self tapping screws to the hitch, turned out well. 541624

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

I compared this product with the Firestone offering for my vehicle and chose AirLift for several reasons: 1- The internal jounce bumpers. I liked the idea of being able to run with little to no air pressure. I also thought this necessary because I needed eliminate the factory bump-stops to install. 2- This product was made in Lansing, MI. I like supporting local industry. 3- I liked the fact that the load from the spring transferred directly into the frame of the truck vs. the offset brackets that came with the Firestone product. I am impressed with and disappointed with this product. We will start with my likes: - The bags do carry the load. I can level the truck regardless of what is in the back or on the trailer hitch. - The towing experience is much better with the bags in the back. The rear springs on the Tundra (probably true of most half ton trucks) for 900# of tongue weight even with weight distribution. The bags eliminated the extreme up/down bounce that come with very stiff weight distribution bars. - The kit is very well engineered and the installation went very well. - Airbags are an excellent compliment to a good WD hitch. My dislikes: - The internal jounce bumpers are awful. IMO they engage way too early. With no pressure in the bags they might as well be steel blocks. The truck crashes into them after only 1.5" of travel (railroad crossings, speed bumps, and undulations in the road. With 5-10 psi in the bags this is better but the stock ride of the truck is gone. It now feels more like a ¾ ton truck in the back (smoother because you are riding on air but there is very little suspension motion). - An airbag acts as a spring when the suspension compresses but it also acts like a spring when the suspension extends. The down travel of the rear suspension is limited. You notice this when you drive through a dip in the road at speed. Not only do I have limited down travel but when the tuck unloads the back of truck runs out of up travel way before the front. I am not sure what the future hold. I love the bags while towing my travel trailer and hate the bags when unloaded. I think that the best option would be a SumoSpring. I did not go this route because most people say that they engage to abruptly and wreck the ride. Well, so do these Airbags. At least with a SumoSpring I would keep the down travel of the suspension. I am considering purchasing a set for evaluation. AirLift offers an unconditional 60 day return policy. However 60 days did not prove to be enough time to really evaluate this product. Right away I noticed the problems with the ride of the truck. I played with air pressure etc. At 90 days I knew what I really didn't like. I wrote AirLift an e-mail but did not receive a response. Would I buy again? Maybe. It is a love/hate relationship. 427052

Comments

I have removed the airbags from my vehicle and replaced them with a set of SumoSprings. I am much happier with the SumoSprings.

Installing this was easy if you follow the instructions and look at video installation as reference. I took my time about 4 hours from start to finish. Ready to help with towing our 30' Coleman travel trailer with our Toyota Tundra to the grand canyon this summer. 524512

Install was easy! Fit right up now drilling. keep in mind that if you live in a cold environment, you may need air brake anti-freeze in the bags, I didn't catch this until after installation and it was a bit tougher to do after the fact. The directions to add the anti-freeze was actually in the Wireless Air Compressor instructions. All this went on my 2016 Ram 2500 Crew Cab 6' 4" bed. Overall, I am very pleased! 469528

I put these Air Helper Springs on a 2013 Ram 2500. Installation of the air bags took a little over two hours and was easy following the instructions. No drilling was requited. Just make sure you do not forget to complete a leak check and make sure to cut the airlines with a very sharp cutter. I purchased the Helper Springs to assist the truck springs and reduce sag when pulling our 17,000 Lb fifth wheel toy hauler with a 3,700 Lb tongue weight. I chose this part number because of the jounce bumper since they would prevent the springs from totally collapsing should total air loss occur. They do the job reducing the sag and increasing vehicle stability. Shout out to etrailer.com for excellent products at reasonable prices. 403133

Installed the AL88200 last year on my 2014 F-150 and its made a major difference in the ride quality while towing! Doesn't matter if i am towing an enclosed trailer with the ATV's or my Fifth wheel camper, the springs allow me to set the level just right and confidently tow over the bumps of the road. Thanks etrailer for getting this product to me so quickly and install was a snap. 486834

The air bags worked perfect, made the ride a lot smoother, even got better fuel mileage, drove eleven hundred miles on our first trip with the air bags and wireless controls, I wished I had done it sooner, it worked flawlessly, barely heard the air compressor run at all, very pleased with my air bags 435169

Took me 5 hours, working by myself, but I'm 70 years old and it sure takes me longer to get under the van, work, and then get out. Did the drivers side first. Much harder than the passenger side. Had to move the brake line a little. Had to loosen up he exhaust system part of the way to be able to drill into the side of the frame. The passenger side took 1/3 as long. Good quality parts. 241911

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Just finished installing and the one issue was the lower bracket.I believe it could be installed either way, there is a cutout and that part was not easily shown in the pictures. But I got it. Took me about an hour and a half each side.removing the brake cables took the longest because of that and not much room and I didn't have a 13 mms open end wrench. The first thing you must do is remove jounce bumper. They say pry it out with 2 screwdrivers. After 15minutes of prying i have up and got a large (4 inch) channel lock pump pliers and gave it a twist . Out in seconds. Works so much better and no skun knuckles. Looking forward to use ing it soon on my truck camper. It was bottom ing the bounce bumper all the time. 524124

Product was just ok the fit was really not that great. one side always seems to leak down, I have checked and rechecked everything but no luck stopping leak. With air in the system it can be hard to get under most trailers as the trailer jacks don't run up high enough so you are always taking air out and adding air back. For my application I am running the min amount of air and having these problems would have expected it at the higher pressures but not at these low numbers. 384418

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

The product took a little bit to install, but once it was in it worked as expected. Originally I didn't buy a pump and found it was to much of a hassle to always try and get the air just right when wanting to tow as I needed my 5th wheel hitched up first. So I finally installed the compressor that I can control with the remote and this has made a big impact. The air bags help take out some of the bucking I was getting and it also helps level out the backend of the truck. It takes some time to get the right air pressure to your liking, but once you know the number, you can just set it each time. 255680

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Installation took about 2 1/2 hrs. on my 2017 Tundra. I thought the instructions were very accurate and easy to follow. I did notice there was no torque spec. for the 3/8 bolts that attached the bottom plate and bowl to the air bag. Other then that everything was straight forward. I'm an old school tech. so I just used a standard USS thread torque chart. I installed these air bags to help stabilize the load when pulling my 32 ft travel trailer. Will be putting them to the test in a couple of weeks on a rather long trip. As for now........5 stars for the installation and etrailers support. 505735

Comments

Lawrence, thank you for your review. The torque spec of the 3/*8 bolt is listed at the bottom of page 7 of the installation instructions. Since these figures are subject to change I cant list them here for liability reasons.

This product is outstanding! I took just a little over 2 hours to install in my driveway using 2 x jack stands and a floor jack. Parts fit perfect and the instructions are clear and very well informed. It took less time to install the bags than it did to find line routes to steer clear of the exhaust and moving parts. I routed the lines to the license plate for discretion, making it easy and clean to adjust the ride height. I recommend this to anyone that tows. 496354

Works good, followed the instructions to a tee for install I’m a tech at a ford dealership so wasn’t hard to read and install accordingly, good quality in all hardware my issue is one of the airbags has developed a small leak in less than 6 months time and only a handful of uses as instructed always kept 15-20 psi in the bags not sure why one failed or developed a leak but will see how the lifetime warranty works out 615567

Comments

Its fairly rare for the leak to occur in the bags themselves, the point where the air lines join the fittings is a much more likely culprit. The best way to find exactly where the leak is would be to add a little bit of water to a cup with a little bit of liquid dish detergent, and paint it on all the fittings, as well as at the schrader valve where you fill the system. A small paintbrush works well. When the system is pressured up, look for the bubbles and thatll be your leak. Leaks most frequently happen at the fittings because of the air line not being cut perfectly straight. If you find the bags are indeed the culprit, they are covered by a lifetime warranty. You can get warranty info by calling our Customer Service folks at 800-298-8924.

Etrailer did an excellent job through the ordering process and delivery. The air bags are working great. We tow a number of different trailers including 5th wheel campers and they level out the different loads nicely. The reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is that I installed Firestone air bags on our old Ram 2500 some years ago. The directions were much easier to follow than these Load Lifter bags. 605270

One year later and I am still happy with this product. Using these to level and stop any sway of my F250 Super Duty with my slide in 4,500 pound Lance truck camper. Truck and camper does not sway at all even in extreme side winds traveling through Wyoming. Did a lot of remote camping down back country dirt and gravel roads and the vehicle felt stable and secure on these unimproved roads. Still maintaining the same air pressure in the bags from when I set them before a 2 month camping trip over 8 months ago. I was led to believe they would loose air pressure over time but that is not the case as the vehicle remains level and stable after months of being parked waiting for the next adventure. I even installed them myself which was actually pretty easy especially with all the installation videos etrailer provides. This is a must have for anyone who has a full size camper like my Lance 1030 in the back of their truck. 596128

I got these air bags on a recommendation. I am getting a fifth wheel trailer and wanted to go down the road with a little security knowing my suspension would handle it. I ordered these and installed them myself. All the parts were there and the instructions were perfect. my biggest decision was where to put the air line. I decided to put them on either side of the license plate. I haven't had a load yet but I am sure they will work fine. 542048

  • For your 2018 Ram 1500 Quad cab I suggest the medium-duty AirLift 1000HD Air Helper Spring kit # AL60818HD. This coil helper spring kit fits both 2WD and 4WD trucks and provides up to 2100-lbs of rear-axle load leveling support for your cargo application. There are lighter-duty kits like # AL60818 (rated for 1000-lbs) and heavier-duty kits like # AL88370 (rated for 5000-lbs) but the 1000HD kit # AL60818HD will be right in the sweet spot for your cargo hauling needs. I looked up the specs on the trailers and it looks like each one has a gross weight rating just under 10,000 pounds. This means that the 13,000 pound rated HiJacker listed above will have plenty of capacity assuming the boat and...
