Ride Control gives the suspension system on your light-to-medium-duty truck, van or SUV unrivaled support. With these air springs installed, you'll experience the same comfortable, smooth and safe ride that you're used to enjoying when you're not hauling. Plus, Ride Control reduces the strain that heavy loads can put on your vehicle, saving you money in potential repairs.

Everything on your vehicle suffers from the stress of hauling or towing heavy loads - your brakes, your tires and your handling ability. Even your headlight aim can be thrown off. Without some kind of reinforcement for your factory suspension system, you could be putting the life expectancy of your vehicle at risk. Air Lift's adjustable air spring kit, Ride Control, gives your suspension the extra support it needs when you are carrying heavy cargo. By providing equal load distribution, Ride Control lessens the stress that your truck has to endure.

Ride Control's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi, so you can get the perfect amount of support for any size load. And the springs can be inflated independently of one another for front-to-rear and side-to-side leveling. The system's also easy to install and even easier to maintain.

Ride Control comes with manual inflation valves that are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere on your vehicle for easy access. For even more convenience and control, you can add a compressor and gauge system (sold separately), which will let you monitor and automatically inflate your air springs.

An exclusive alignment tool is included with your Ride Control kit. This tool allows you to install each air spring so that it is centered perfectly between your vehicle's leaf spring and frame. This helps to prevent damaged caused by the spring rubbing against underbed components, ensuring lasting suspension support.

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your vehicle at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your vehicle by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

These adjustable air springs come with a lifetime warranty with no mileage restrictions. In addition, Air Lift is so sure that you will benefit from their air spring suspension system that they offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Install and use Ride Control springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove them from your vehicle and return them for a full product refund. Now that's confidence.

Video Transcript for Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs Installation - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado

Today on our 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, we'll install the air lift, ride control air helper strings, Part Number AL59539. Our first step, we'll be assembling the air sleeve, an upper and lower brackets. We'll take the air sleeve, install the upper bracket on top, going over the nipple coming out of the air sleeve. We'll secure the upper brackets to the air sleeve with the plastic nut provided, then we'll take our air fitting, the 90 degree fitting and thread it on top of the air sleeve. We'll go ahead and secure it, and tighten it down with a wrench. Next, we'll go ahead and install the lower bracket.

To secure the lower bracket to the air sleeve, we will use the half inch taper headed bolt. Now, we have the brackets and air sleeve assembled. We'll move to the truck. Here, we'll need to remove the manufacturer's jounce bumper. There are two fasteners securing it to the frame, we'll then remove those now.

Now with the jounce bumper out of the way, we'll go ahead and discard the hardware as we will be infusing the fasteners provided with the install kit. Let's go ahead and set the air sleeve brackets in place, then we'll bring our jounce bumper back in and fit it up into position, securing it with a new bolt provided with the install kit. Now, we've got our bolt started, we'll go ahead and run them down, and then torque the specifications as indicated in the instructions. Next, we'll move to the lower bracket. Here, we'll need to make some room at the lower shock mouth to make the additional room necessary.

We're going to go ahead and remove the bolt and nuts securing the lower half of the shock to the shock mouth. Take the bolt as it's now going from inside to outside and turn it around so that it'll go thread from the outside to the inside. Quick tech tip: If you do you not allow the shock to fully extend, it makes it much easier to get the bolt back into position and re-securing it with the same nut. Now, with the bolt back in and our nut installed, we'll go ahead and tighten them down. Our lower bracket has a hook facing forward, it'll fit over the shackle mouth of the lead spring to axle.

Now to secure the lower bracket into position, we'll go ahead and take the u-bolt fitted over the top of the upper bracket and around the lead spring. Then we'll bring our u-bolt bracket into position and secure it with a flat washer and nile unlock nut, it would be two for each u-bolt. Now, we've got them in position finger tight, we'll go ahead and tighten them down. It's best to tighten them down evenly so that it stretches the u-bolt evenly. Now, that secures the air bag here on the driver's side, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on the passenger side. Next, we'll move to installing the air line. For this application, we'll be mounting it in the rear bumper on either side of the license plate. I'll go ahead and take a couple of quick measurements and use my paint stick to make a mark so it's equal on each side, then we'll go ahead and use our drill bit to drill it our large enough for our schrader valve in to go through the hole. Now that our hole drilled out, we'll go ahead and find the halfway point of our air line, as each end is already pre-installed with the schrader valves. Once we find the halfway point, we'll go ahead and take our tubing cutter and cut it in half. The reason we use a tubing cutter is so that we don't crimp our lines as we cut it in half. Now, we have our line cut in half and our hole drilled out, we'll go ahead and install the schrader valve in into the bumper. To do this, we'll go ahead and thread on a nut and install the serrated washer. Then we'll bit it into the bumper and install our rubber washer, a flat washer and securing nut, and tighten it down. The runner line will use a pole wire or in this case, a piece of tubing to assist us in pulling it through the frame. Taking my pole wire, feeding it to an excess hole in the frame and out in the end, I can then detach the new air line with some black electrical tape and then pull it through the frame. Remember when running your line, you stay away from moving components such as the steering suspension or excessive heat such as exhaust that can pinch or damage the line. Now, we've come out of the frame pulling the excess line necessary and then route it down to the bag. As you can see, we still have some excess lines, so I'll go ahead and use my tubing cutter to cut off any excess, then installing it into the air bag, we'll simply go into the red nipple of the air fitting, push it firmly into position and then pull out locking it into place. Now, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on the passenger's side. Now, with both air sleeves and air lines installed, we'll go ahead and air it up and check the leaks. As you can see, we don't have any leaks and this will complete the install of the Air Lift Ride Control Helper Springs Part Number AL59539 on our 2006 Chevrolet Colorado.

After owning a year, I really have only good things to say about the air bags. If I have a lot of weight in the truck bed or some weight on the hitch, just a few minutes airing up the bags and it's all good! 720331

The box was damaged and some of the small washers and nuts were missing but no critical part I had extra washers and nuts one of the brackets was hanging out of the box but still there maybe the Box should be a little more durable 634557

Air Lift seemingly well engineered--brackets fit, bags fit, however, the 3/8 bolt that holds the driver side bracket up , as furnished, was too short..on that side, the brake lines are bolted to the frame in front of the access hole for the wrench ( whatever style) to be used to hold the head of the bolt..A longer bolt had to be substituted so as to be able to pinch the bolt from the downside..Also, the air fitting from bag to hose was defective(1) after installing bags, I had to remove one, awaiting parts, not very happy about this..hope things work well when new fitting arrives..At 71 yrs and having spent 4 hours doing a 2 hr job working under my truck, I am not real happy. sure hope .I don't find out those fittings are mfg in china!! 138352

Installed this on my new Tacoma last year. Needed a little bit of load assistance when moving firewood. They have worked fine after one years use. I didn't remove the wheel when installing so it was a little tight working on the install. If I had to do it again I would definitely remove the wheel for easier access. It's still a straight forward easy install either way. Would buy these again no question. 465020

Install these on my 2015 Chevy Colorado. I pull a fairly big travel trailer and although it's no problem pulling it I had noticed that over the last couple of years the rear of the truck was gradually sagging more. The AirLift fixed it right up. The ride now inspires more confidence and I definitely have more control over the whole rig. Installation was fairly easy. I'm pretty handy but quite green when it comes to vehicles so I would say it's accessible to anyone with a handy thumb. I even managed to install them without removing the wheels. It took a bit longer and required more up and down with the car jack but since I did it a couple of hours at a time over a couple of days it allowed me to still drive during the installation process. I'm am a huge fan and would recommend it to anyone. 389436

This kit is fantastic! After loading my newly acquired '65 Fairlane drag car onto my newly acquired double-axle car trailer I could hardly believe the sight of my '10 Tacoma sagged down so low the safety chains were literally lying on the parking lot! I lost 5+" of suspension, and along with it the nice ride, positive handling, and safe control of my truck. I installed this product the next weekend, loaded back up, and 45 lbs of air on each side brought the truck right back to level (and safe). Ride is as if the trailer wasn't even there. A couple of installation tips to offer...I jacked up the truck one side at a time, allowing the axle to hang by the suspension, then placed a second jack under the axle. This allowed me to jack the axle up to the perfect height for installing the lift chambers without crushing or stretching them. Also, Toyota graciously left four additional holes in the underside of the rear bumper that were just the right size for the valve assemblies. They worked great for making a clean installation of the airlines. This product definitely delivers what it claims! 44777

I had the Air Lift kit professionally installed. My mechanic was very impressed at the quality of the product and ease of installation. I am very impressed with the quality this product provides. I had it installed on a recently purchased 1993 Dodge Caravan. This van is a handicapped accessible vehicle for my wife who has MS. We tried to get into a newer vehicle but they are too expensive. The reason for the purchase was to improve the sagging rear suspension this van has. It's 20 years old with only 43,000 miles on it. I will be purchasing Air Lift products in the future and recommending them to my family and friends. 115138

Review from a similar Ride Control in Vehicle Suspension

( 2012 Chevrolet Silverado LT 4x4 EXT cab 6'6' bed) Easy to install, directions are straight forward for a typical install, and mine wasn't a typical install but altered some brackets for easier installation, problem was I installed the 10 bolt base rail mounting kit(30035) for a fifth wheel as directed per instructions and the short brackets ended up 1" in where the bracket for the air lift need to sit, took my short brackets off and took them to a well qualified machine shop and had them modify them and the brackets to the air lift too make them a one piece unit, other than that I would have to re-drill holes for the fifth wheel thru the frame and move everything back and I didn't want to sacrifice any more holes in the bed and frame, I suggest Air lift and Reese hitch review the bracket and measurements to help improve a not so typical installation and also might want to look at different bracket measurements for other fifth wheel installs, I know this could only be a possible one off situation.. On an ending note I was rather surprised with the look and the ride after the install and I don't foresee any issues when I put the truck under a load I would recommend this product everyone if they want to beef up the 1/2 ton truck for a more comfortable and safer ride, The install after bracket modifications only too an hour for both sides. A++ product!!! 115136

These were perfect. I needed some extra suspension due to towing my max capability. (6400lb gross wt 24 foot trailer with a 2015 Chevy Colorado LT 4wd) The truck had too much "bounce" on it every Time when hit a hole in the road even with equalization bars. But these air bags smoothed the ride out and help with equalization. Installation was a breeze. Did it myself in 2 hours with 0 problems. Kit comes with all you need minus the compressor assembly. I used Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Hand-Held Remote - Single Path Item # AL25870. (Eliminates need for cab wiring And works great) . All in all, Great product, Great price, easy installation and no problems. 406027

This is the second time I've used AirLift products. I had this system on a vehicle for over 6 years and it was still working perfect when I sold the vehicle. The system is easy to install and I like the fact that there is no drilling requirement to mount the equipment. 71881

What year Tacoma did you install them on? I have a 2013 TRD double cab and Im not seeing the mounting holes shown in the installation guide. Thanks

I checked Jons order notes and it was on a 2012 Tacoma. If your Tacoma is a 4WD model, then the Air Lift kit AL59561 is the correct kit. It fits all 4WD and 2WD Pre-Runner models. 2WD Tacomas use AL59564 with the exception of trucks equipped with a rear-sway bar, ie Pre-Runner and X-Runner. The mounting holes will be on the frame, just forward of the axle.

I installed the system myself without any issues in a couple of hours. I keep about 400 lbs. of tools in the bed of the truck and needed the lift to bring the truck to it's correct operating level. The weight was changing the angles on my two piece drive shaft causing vibration and eating up carrier bearings. It's performing great...Tom in Bama 67365

Shipment was within a few hours of my order and delivery was on time and on target. Great job. I got the spring helpers around 1pm and they were on the truck by 5. I left the wheels on and still had access to everything. I recommend you chock the front tires, set the brake and lift the back end by the hitch just a few inches. It will IMO make things a heckuva a lot easier to get at. In my case, it was a must, because I had only a six inch socket extention to get the bump stops off. Raising the back end a bit allowed me to get the socket in between it and the axle. Also, instead of holding the upper bracket in place with one hand while attempting to fasten the bump stop bolt with the other. I found it easier to secure the upper bracket with the supplied j-hooks and snug it up to the frame first. It made installation of the stops just a little easier. Now granted this is my fault for not reading the details better. But if there was anything I could change. I really really really wish a tee for single path inflation was supplied with the kit. Oh well, live and learn. The spring helpers wer put to the test the next day when we used the truck to tow our RV to the campsite. Very pleased etrailer and the Air Lift spring helpers performance, both are highly recommended. 388644

Review from a similar Ride Control in Vehicle Suspension

The AirLift system we talked about a couple weeks ago was sent to my daughter, Kristi's house. I installed it yesterday. I'm on the road, which isn't the best place to do the installation. My father in law didn't have any socket wrenches so I started with a couple 9/16 open end wrenches. These don't work for everything. I went to the local hardware store and bought what I needed. The driver side went on much easier. The hardest bolt was the top one requiring the socket wrench to hold the nut inside the frame. I had to feel for the nut since it was hidden next to an existing frame bolt. I was able to simply jack the back of the truck up at the hitch to gain clearance. I didn't have to remove the wheels. The nylon lock nut was fun to tighten. AirLift should have supplied a simple wrench for this. I found a vice grip needle nose plier worked well enough. Here are three photos. First is passenger side, second tries to show where top nut goes, third is drivers side. I have then filled to 28psi and will check them this morning. 85458
