Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Pace Edwards PowerGate electric tailgate lock. Now, this product fits certain years of models of the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350 and the Ford Explorer Sport Track. So, to ensure that this is a fit for your vehicle, you can use the vehicle fit guide, which is located at etrailer.com.Now, with this unit installed you'll be able to lock your tailgate every time you lock the doors on your truck. This tailgate lock would be a great addition to trucks that also have a Tonneau cover or a camper shell to help keep your truck bed as secure as possible.It's a very simple installation. It does not require any drilling. It simply mounts inside the tailgate, and wires into the power door locks.
It does come with all the wiring necessary so the wiring is a plug and go wiring harness, makes connecting the wires quick and easy. You'll notice that it has all the connectors already preinstalled. The instructions that are included are very detailed, so they walk you through the whole process step by step. It comes with the necessary fuses and relays. Also, it comes with some wire taps or connectors.
These are included as well for the installation, and zip ties are included to secure your wiring up and out of the way.Now, when it comes to the actual lock assembly, features a nice stainless steel backing plate, and the slide bolt on the unit is stainless steel, so it's very strong and durable. It does a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. It has a strong and durable nylon guide block to ensure smooth operation. You don't have to worry about any kinking or binding. The inaudible 00:01:35 on the unit is completely sealed so you don't have to worry about moisture, dirt or grime getting in there and damaging anything.

Doesn't appear to fit for 2017 F-150, but instructions were so blurry and smudged when it arrived so its effectively useless for actually following for the install.

Now I can feel safe that my tonneau cover will be locked. There's no key whole, so nothing to Jimmy. Very protected. Also, the lock actuator feels and sounds very sturdy and capable.
Very on time.
Perfect fit.
I feel like there could of been an install video. Would have made the process easier to grasp.
P.S. follow the instructions step by step; they are very insightful into the car model and all its intricacies.

we were able to install the product just fine, but it doesn't work properly. it only goes one way. We spent hours going over the wiring and everything was correct, the unit just didn't work correctly. we finally gave up. the product is still on the truck but is not being used.

The way this works is the solenoid to block the handle from being lifted, all I can see happening is the handle breaking. The solenoid should lock/unlock the actual lock cylinder (if equipped). Wiring diagram for 2013 Toyota Tundra is poor, so I haven’t hooked it up yet.

This item worked on my truck. Had a little problem with the installing of the lock. Had to ajust the lock rod on the passenger side of the tailgate, for clearance for lock to fit, and work smoothly. Works Great now.
