Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Pace Edwards PowerGate Electric Tailgate Lock. Now, this product fits certain years and models of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. To insure that it is a fit for your vehicle, you can always use the Vehicle Fit Guide, which is located at etrailer.com.With this unit installed, you'll simply be able to lock your tailgate every time you lock your door, so it's great feature to have. This tailgate lock would be a great addition to trucks that also have a tonneau cover to help keep your truck bed as secure as possible.The installation is pretty simple. It does not require any drilling. This unit simply mounts inside the tailgate and wires into the power door locks.
It comes with all the necessary wiring, and the wiring is all Plug-N-Go. So the Plug-N-Go wiring harness is included. It also comes with the necessary fuse and relays and the connectors and wiretaps needed for installation are included as well. The zip ties are designed to help secure your wires up and out of the way, making sure they don't become damaged. Also makes for an overall, better appearance and cleaner installationWhen it come to the actual tailgate lock, that's this component here, really nice construction.
It features a stainless steel backing plate, as well as a a stainless steel slide bolt. It's very strong and durable, and it does a great job at resisting rust and corrosion, so you don't have to worry about rust and corrosion build up or kinking and binding. This component right here is a solenoid, and that is fully protected so you don't have to worry about dirt and moisture getting in there and affecting the operation in any way.It also comes with detailed installation instructions, with pictures. Doesn't appear to fit for 2017 F-150, but instructions were so blurry and smudged when it arrived so its effectively useless for actually following for the install.

The way this works is the solenoid to block the handle from being lifted, all I can see happening is the handle breaking. The solenoid should lock/unlock the actual lock cylinder (if equipped). Wiring diagram for 2013 Toyota Tundra is poor, so I haven’t hooked it up yet.

Went together like a dream. So easy because it is well-engineered and the fitment is precise. It went in under an hour as the wiring to the electrical was already there due to a failed prior install.

Now I can feel safe that my tonneau cover will be locked. There's no key whole, so nothing to Jimmy. Very protected. Also, the lock actuator feels and sounds very sturdy and capable.
Very on time.
Perfect fit.
I feel like there could of been an install video. Would have made the process easier to grasp.
P.S. follow the instructions step by step; they are very insightful into the car model and all its intricacies.

we were able to install the product just fine, but it doesn't work properly. it only goes one way. We spent hours going over the wiring and everything was correct, the unit just didn't work correctly. we finally gave up. the product is still on the truck but is not being used.

This item worked on my truck. Had a little problem with the installing of the lock. Had to ajust the lock rod on the passenger side of the tailgate, for clearance for lock to fit, and work smoothly. Works Great now.
