I actually purchased these as replacements for incandescent lighting for my hot tub. The incandescent bulb would heat up in its enclosure and burn out within a few tens of minutes of use, sometimes even cracking from the heat. The LED replacements run cool, and I have not had to replace it since installing about a year ago.
