Optronics SLL93AB LED Transit Warning Light Dimensions

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Surface-Mount Light

Surface-mount trailer lights install using a flange or bracket with mounting holes. These lights lay flat against the trailer surface and only require a small, often pre-existing hole, for wiring. Mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Video Transcript for Review of Optronics Emergency Supplies - Warning Lights - SLL93AB

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Optronics LED Warning Light. Now, this is designed to work on buses to act as a warning light to let other drivers know that you're coming to a stop or that just to keep an eye out for little ones and also frequent stops and things like that. So this is going to be a flash and strobing light. It doesn't really act as a side marker light or anything like that since it is designed to be a warning light. So we'll have our three wires to connect in most applications.

There is a fourth wire, and I'll go into more details about that in just a minute. The nice thing about our light is that it is completely sealed, so it's going to be waterproof and submersible. So even in the Northern States where we have a lot of snow, rain, sleet, or any other areas where you have a lot of inclement weather, this is going to be completely sealed, so we don't have to worry about any ingress of water causing any issues with this. And since it is an LED design, there's virtually no maintenance with this light. You don't have to worry about changing out any bulbs over time. It's going to have a brighter light with less power draw than an equivalent incandescent light.

And again, there's no filaments that can break with this. So it should be a long lasting light, and there's even a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. So should any issues arise, it will be covered by the warranty there. So pretty nice as far as longevity goes. The lens is made out of an acrylic material, and then the housing is made out of a polycarbonate. There's also an aluminum backing to this, so that's going to help to dissipate any kind of heat buildup.

So we don't have to worry about that causing any issues of premature failure on our LEDs. It comes with this nice, thick foam gasket to help kind of conform around any kind of curves in the surface that you're mounting it to. It is a surface mount light. It does not come with the hardware, so you will have to pick that up on your own, or if you're replacing out an existing light, maybe reuse that hardware, and I'll go over the distance between those at the end of the video with some measurements for you guys. But right now, let's hook this up to power and ground. So our red wire will be power, white wire will be our ground, and then the black wire acts as a switch from the kind of slower flash to the faster strobe function.

So turn that on, and it kind of does one blank and then that's our flash. So that's going to be our slower function, and then if we connect the black wire to ground, that's going to switch it to our faster strobe. So give it a second, and then it'll go to that strobe function. Now, if you want to hook up two of these lights at a time or multiple lights, that's where that fourth yellow wire will come in play. That is actually a sync wire. So whenever you connect the two lights, you'll want to connect those yellow wires together, and that'll sync the flash so that it's blinking at the same rate. And that's going to be the same for both the faster strobe and also the slower flash there. So I'm going to turn the light out in the studio, you can get an idea of how bright that is. So pretty darn bright. Connect our black wire again and see that strobe effect. And that's enough of that. Give you a headache. So now that we've seen what it looks like, let's go over some measurements. The outer housing is about seven inches wide or seven inches in diameter. The distance that this is going to extend out if we put this up, it's kind of hard to tell since it has this sort of domed design, but it's about two inches or maybe an inch and three quarters from back to front. The mounting holes, if we go across, those are about six and a quarter inch apart. Side to side, they're about four and a half inches apart. The diameter of those holes is about three sixteenths of an inch.So if you get any hardware to go with this, which you probably will, you'll need something that's about three sixteenths. Maybe a quarter inch will fit in there as well. We'll have a total of eight diodes there. It works with 12 volt DC power, and it has a power draw at 12.8 volts of two amps. So not a lot of power draw for a very bright light. Again, lifetime warranty on those LEDs. It is SAE certified. And that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Optronics LED Warning Light. I hope this video has been helpful in determining if this is going to be the right light for you. Thanks for watching.
