Notes:
Start your engine easier and warm your cab faster in cold weather with this frost-plug-style engine block heater. Heating your engine coolant keeps it from thickening and freezing, resulting in more reliable start-ups and smoother operation altogether. It also lessens the workload and extends the life of your vehicle's battery. And because starting your engine when it's warm creates less condensation in the engine block than starting it when it's cold, your engine will get better initial fuel vaporization, which causes fewer emissions and less pollution.
This frost-plug heater replaces the core plug in your engine block. The power cord on the heater is removable so that you won't need to buy a whole new heater if the cord gets damaged. The cord can be routed through your grille for easy access to a 120-volt outlet or extension cord. If needed, a longer or shorter cord (sold separately) can be purchased to better fit your application. Make sure the heating element is fully submerged in the coolant before plugging it in.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Cat's heaters customer engine block heater. This is a frost plug style. It ensures smoother start ups and faster heating and defrosting of the cab. It replaces the frost plug, or core plug, in the engine block and submerges in coolant. It's designed to warm engine fluid, which is going to increase lubrication and performance. It also keeps fluid from thickening, and protects against damage and cold weather. It simply preheats the engine, which is going to reduce condensation of the engine block.
It emits less pollution and fewer gas emissions. It also comes with a removable power cord. This unit simply plugs into the connection point right here on the back side of the heater. You can easily route this power cord through the grill and plug it into a standard 120 volt AC outlet. Another neat thing about it having a removable power cord, is if you ever damage the power cord, you don't have to replace the entire element, or the entire unit. Just get a new power cord.
This is constructed of corrosion-resistant brass. It's custom fit for your vehicle. It is CSA approved and it's made in the USA. Edge-to-edge, right here at the area of the inserts, it's going to be about 50 mm diameter. Wattage is 400 watts and amperage is 3.3 amps.
When installing this, place it in. It's got the seal already installed on there. It's kind of got this wing fastener so as you tighten down this screw, it spreads apart these components here, and that's going to spread and then create that nice tight fit that we need to complete the installation. A few notes that I need to mention is please do not use this heater with 100% anti-freeze solution, and please do not start the engine with the heater plugged in. That's going to do it for today's look at the Cat's heater custom engine block heater.
