  • Frame Mount - Anti-Sway

Offer your bike safe passage at an affordable rate with this trunk-mounted carrier. Passage mounts securely to your Lincoln Mark VIII with the patented FitDial adjustment system and straps, and anti-sway cradles keep your bikes from jostling during transport.

Features:

  • Affordable, trunk-mounted 2-bike carrier
  • Patented Fit Dial adjustment system ensures proper fit on your vehicle
  • 6 Attachment straps securely mount bike rack to your vehicle
  • Cushioned anti-sway cradles
    • Prevent bike-to-bike and bike-to-vehicle contact with No-Sway Cage accessories
    • Include rubber straps to secure bikes in place
  • Dual support arms
    • Provide stability for bikes
    • Fold down when not in use
    • May require an adapter bar to hold some bike-frame styles and sizes
  • Soft rubber pads on rack base protect your vehicle surface from scratches and abrasions
  • Quick and easy installation

Specs:

  • Capacity: 2 bikes
  • Weight Capacity: 35 lbs per bike
  • Distance from center of arm to center of arm: 14"
  • Lifetime warranty

Note: This dual-arm rack reduces the need for a bike frame adapter bar (sold separately) to mount a children's, women's, or alternative frame bicycle. However, to mount certain bikes or to keep your bike level on the rack, a bike adapter bar may be required. Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar.

Thule Passage Fit Dial system

The Thule Passage offers an affordable, safe way to transport two bikes without a hitch. The Passage mounts to the rear of your vehicle with six integrated straps and Thule's patented Fit Dial system, which adjusts the rack base to ensure a snug fit.

The Passage includes cushioned anti-sway cradles with Thule's No-Sway Cage accessories to prevent bike-to-bike contact during transport. The anti-sway cradles also keep your bikes from making contact with the vehicle.

The carrier's dual support arms provide stability for your bikes during transit, and the arms conveniently fold down when not in use for additional rear clearance and easy storage.

Excellent and prompt customer service! When I first ordered my product it wasn’t in stock— staff were quick to let me know and offered me comparable products. I ended up waiting for my original order and shipping quick and they stayed in touch with ideas! Thule: The instructions could be a little more detailed. I ended up watching YouTube videos to help me instal. Overall it was easy, and this was the first rack I’ve ever installed and I did it by myself! I was surprised to learn the bike rack is in no way secured inside your vehicle, so.. I store it in my garage when it’s on.

Comments
I wish that the bar that secures “female” bikes was included. I also ended up spraying the metal clips with rubberized spray because it will scratch where it contacts. I transport a very heavy e-bike mostly, I’ve been extraordinarily happy with its performance, price, and it’s easy on, easy off style. Often recommend.

Fantastic! I drive a Dodge Journey Crew 2012 and it fit very well. I couldn't even tell you how long I searched for a bike rack that held two bikes and that fit my big SUV and that was relatively low priced, so this was perfect! I usually never write reviews but I had to because this bike rack held two bikes on it with no incident during my 4 day non stop driving cross-country trip on multiple types of terrain. I was super impressed with how well this held up. Very happy with my purchase! (:

Positive: The product is well thought out and works for a wide range of automotive vehicles. It comes with interesting dampers that i think work. Instructions seem to be translated from another language, but are quite good, accompanying pictures make installation straightforward. A test drive over speed bumps shows that the rack will support the bike for all travel needs. It can be disassembled , collapsed and stored in the trunk. Downside: The rack is made for the classic triangular shaped frame: horizontal cross bar, "male" bike. For bikes without the horizontal bar, mounting is a little less satisfactory. Such a bike can only be mounted on the outside mounts. Cannot use the damper on one side. Picture shows the mounting. as to a design solution, maybe brackets could be replaced with smaller profile, some adjustability? however, as it is, vibration control is good and adjustability with smaller profile would have vibration concerns.

Comments
Hanging style bike racks like the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier and others like them do require the use of an adapter bar like part 64005 to properly hang bikes with slanted cross tubes. The adapter bar gives the bike a horizontal surface to hang from.

Within minutes of opening the box, the bike rack was secured to the car. The purchase was for my teenage daughter who can easily attach and remove the rack from her car. Typically this will be used to transport one bike. If you typically transport two bikes, then I would recommend buying the rack that can hold three bikes. Less chance of banging together.

Comments
Not very happy with the bike rack after one year. No matter what method used to tighten the side to bottom straps, they always come loose after a miles or two of driving. Will probably put the bike rack in the trash. It is that bad.
Ed - 05/10/2021

Thank you for your review. When tightening down your straps I would tie off your strap right beneath your plastic fastener, that way the vibrations of the road will not loosen it. If you need a new strap I will attach it here.

2013 Hyundai Sonata

We ordered the Thule Passage Trunk-mount 2 Bike Rack and Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar for 2013 Hyundai Sonata. It was shipped the next day and we received it two days later. Since our bumper is quite soft, we had to make a modification and actually use the bottom clips that normally hook under the car and put them on the bottom of the trunk. It worked quite well and we are very happy with the product. We live in southwest Florida part time and wanted to be able to take our bicycles to Sanibel and Captiva Island. There are also many nice bike trails in south Florida which we would like to explore. If I'm here by myself, I know that I can put it on the car myself without my husband's help which I'm very happy about.

2015 Ford Edge

Ordered online, it shipped the same day. Received it 3 days later. There is a little assembly, but, pretty simple. It took me less than 15 minutes to install and no tools were needed. It is adjustable to be used on many different auto types, but, the instructions were very clear about how to adjust it to fit my 2011 Ford Edge. I have used it twice so far to transport my bike. There are a couple of items that are inherent in the design, not a flaw, but, you need to be aware of them. First, you can't use rear window wipers. Second, the back-up alarm goes nuts because it registers a bike less than 6 inches behind you (I tolerate it for the few seconds it takes to back out of my driveway or out of a parking lot). Third, there is a little flexibility, it is held on with straps and clamps, not bolts, so, it bounces a little when you go over bumps or make sharp turns, however, it holds the bike fast to the frame and stays on the car. I use mine to transport my bike on short trips around town to bike trails. On a long trip I would suggest checking that the straps remain tight from time to time during the drive.

I have a 2013 Edge. Have you had any problems with the rear spoiler. I am scared it might crack or get damaged. Any problems or concerns since you have been using the rack? Thanks,Bryan

I have been out of bicycling for awhile and had not heard of etrailer.com. I was attracted by the competitive pricing and further impressed by the timely arrival. The packaging was no-frills (no padding) but as the rack itself has padded bumpers and isn't particularly fragile, that wasn't a problem. It took a few minutes to figure out the right settings for the rack to fit the car but once set up it worked perfectly.

I am thoroughly impressed. My chosen product was out of stock when I ordered it. Someone immediately contacted me with options, with a no pressure option of just waiting for my chosen rack. I just received it yesterday and it's great. I got the Thule Passage II and it's a perfect fit for my Buick Encore. It took 10 or 15 minutes to install and it's very stable.

- TH910XT
by:

Pros: Fairly easy to install with lots of Straps included.. It seems strong and came at a great price. Cons: The rack doesn’t work with my Santa Cruz 5010 frame, which does have a straight top tube. I needed an adjustable temporary top tube which I already owned. I’m not sure if the anti-sway works well. I need to further test

Easy to install by myself if necessary. Easy to make solid and secure. Gentle on our beloved bikes. Highly recommend and very glad we bought it. I drive a 2014 MINI Hardtop. Fits great. Straps are very long so get some small zip ties to keep them from flapping. I can also fit my kayak AND the bike rack, no problem. The only downside (which would be true of any bike rack on a MINI) is that once installed, getting at anything in the back seat is tough with a two door.

Will the Thule TH910XT for the 2011 Camry accommodate a womens bike?
-- comment by: Sandy - 09/02/2013

Yes it will, but it will probably need an adapter bar. Without an adapter bar, the bike either will not fit, or will sit far off balance like in the picture from Melony. An adapter bar provides a full size, level tube from which to hang the bike. Thule offers one, it is part TH982XT.

Have not installed the bike rack yet, as some parts were missing when it originally arrived. However, so far customer service has been outstanding. I originally sent an email asking if the unit would fit on my Porsche Cayenne e-Hybrid. Having looked for a while, most web-sites racks would not fit if vehicle had a rear spoiler. etrailer went the extra mile and contacted Thule to verify if would fit. Then when i went to install and the wing nuts were missing, they immediately sent our replacements. Will try to install this afternoon, an hopefully information from Thule was correct.

When we bought our 2013 Explorer, there was no bike rack available that would fit it. We were thrilled to find this rack for our car. The instructions were easy to follow and the rack performed as expected. During the 100 miles from home to college, we could see our child's bike out that back window sitting solidly in place.

I purchased my first bike rack, and etrailer made it easy. It arrived within a few days after ordering. I was very pleased with the product. I had to purchase a cross bar to get my bike on the rack, which I figured out after the fact, but it all worked out fine.

by:

Outstanding bike rack for the price. Clear setup manual, parts do not feel cheap, works exactly like it is supposed to. Put my bike on it, did not even hear a sound of parts struggling keep up the weight. No squealing, no scratching noise at all. One thing to look for is when you tighten the straps with no bike on, make sure you tighten the side and bottom ones again after you place the bike on, as they will come loose as top straps will be holding all the weight. And be ready to sacrifice using your rear wiper since you will not be able to. One thing I wish it came with would be some kind of small Velcro fasteners to secure the loose ends of the straps with. But I just did with duck tape, works just fine, too. Also, outstanding customer service from etrailer folks!

After a bad experience with a previous bike rack in high winds (not a Thule), we were very leery about bike racks. This one passes every test! The rack arrived and made lots of noise in the box. I opened the box and this was obviously a return that was not checked; the straps looked like spaghetti, nothing was wrapped, and the paperwork was crumpled up. I persevered and managed to get it mounted on the car. It fits great and makes no noise. Haven't put the bikes on it yet so can't say how that goes. I think you should include some type of wrap to tie up the excess straps, but otherwise, I am very happy so far.

Just returned from a bike-trip using the Thule Passenger2 for the 1st time. It is the best bike rack that I have ever owned. It is easy to install, all parts are covered to protect your car from scratching, and held the 2-bikes "rock-solid". Awesome product.

A key consideration here is what kind of bike rack you are using on your 2008 Subaru Forester. • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for a 2013 Ford C-Max and Two 58 Pound Electric Bikes
There aren't any Class III, 2 inch trailer hitches for the 2013 Ford C-Max. But there is a Class II, 1-1/4 inch available, # C12092, and a Class 1, 1-1/4 inch # 24896. There are several bike racks that can accept two 58 pound bikes and are also compatible with the available trailer hitches for your vehicle. The Kuat NV # NV12G is one option. It has a capacity of 60 pounds per bike. Another option is the Saris Freedom # SA4412B and the SuperClamp EX2, # SA4025F. Both of these racks...

  • Will the Thule Passage 2 Trunk Mounted Bike Rack fit on a 2012 Prius V with Spoiler
As long as you do not exceed the weight capacity for the bike rack the spoiler of your 2012 Toyota Prius V should have no problem supporting the weight of your bikes when using the Thule Passage 2 # TH910XT. However, you should note that a lot of the weight of the carrier will be on the bottom feet of the carrier. It would not just be the spoiler bearing all of the weight of the rack and bikes. If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes you may also be interested...

  • Comparison Between Thule # TH910XT Passage and # TH9009XT Trunk Mount Bike Racks
There are three upgrades you'll find on the Thule # TH9009XT Archway that you won't find on the # TH910XT Passage. The Archway provides upgraded cradles that are padded a bit heavier for better protection for your bike. The Archway also includes an integrated cable lock and a TrunkLocker strap that you can shut in the hatch that secures the rack to the vehicle. These two features would help deter theft. These features explain the price differential, but it'll be up to you to decide...

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack for a 2016 Honda Fit
We have several trunk mount bike carriers that will fit your 2016 Honda Fit including the Passage # TH910XT. I have included a link to the options that will fit. The Passage is a great entry-level carrier that will work well for you. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you. But if you want the top of the line then I recommend the Thule Raceway Pro # TH9002PRO. I have an older version of this rack and it is by far the easiest trunk mount rack I have ever used. What makes...

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for a 2013 Nissan Juke Hatchback
The Thule Passage 2, part # TH910XT is a confirmed fit and all around good choice for the 2013 Nissan Juke. I can't recommend opening the hatch while the rack is installed as the weight of the rack itself can cause the hatch to close unexpectedly and harm you or the vehicle.

  • Trunk Mount 2-Bike Rack for a 2019 Mini Countryman
At this point in time (August 2019) the Thule Passage # TH910XT is not confirmed as a fit for your 2019 Mini Countryman but I do have a similar solution for you. The Yakima HalfBack # Y02636 is a similar alternative to the Passage and I actually think you would like this option more even if the Passage did fit because it uses 4 straps instead of 6 so it is easier to install and it has more of a stylish look over the basic bare-bones look of the Passage. To add locks to this bike rack...

  • Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2003 Honda Accord Sedan
We are at the mercy of what vehicles customers bring to us which is why you do not see pictures or a video of the Thule Passage # TH910XT on a 2003 Honda Accord sedan. We just haven't had one in for test fits. I can tell you though that if stability is the main issue, I do not recommend a trunk mount bike rack. But if you were to use one, the best option is going to be the Raceway, # TH9001PRO. I own this rack myself and it is the most stable of any of the trunk mount bike racks we carry....

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack for a 2013 Chevy Captiva
We do have some trunk mount bike racks that will fit your 2013 Chevy Captiva, but the Thule Passage # TH910XT will not fit. The only racks that fit the Captiva are the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack # HRF2 or # HRF2-3. These racks have an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps up and over any spoiler so no weight is put on it (since the spoiler is not meant to support weight). I have included a link to a video that shows how it works. If you will be carrying...
