Gordo 2 Bike Rack on Trunk

A unique rack created for your unique bike, the Gordo bike rack allows you to carry one or two bikes with long wheelbases - like cruisers, Townies and choppers - on the trunk of your Chrysler New Yorker. You won't need a hitch or have to lift bikes over your head to load them on a roof rack.

Dual Arms and Tie-Down System

The Gordo's dual arms are spaced 22 inches apart to accommodate long-wheelbase bikes. A rubber cradle with a strap secures one side of your bike. The other side of your bike rests in one of the grooves on the rack's other vinyl-coated arm. Two security straps and an integrated safety strap complete the tie-down system by looping through and around your bikes and securing to the rack. Four foam pads can be placed wherever needed to help keep your bikes separated.

Adjustment Hubs and Six-Strap Attachment System

Two interlocking hubs with quick-release levers ensure a proper fit on your Chrysler New Yorker. Just flip the levers out to open the hubs, and unfold the base of the rack. Then place the rack on your trunk and adjust the base's support arms to the desired angle. To secure the base in that position, line up the teeth on each hub and push the levers back in. Then rotate the levers until the hubs are snug. The levers also make it easy to collapse the rack so that it takes up minimal storage space.

Six adjustable straps with rubber-coated metal hooks and cam buckles secure the Gordo to your Chrysler New Yorker. And four foam pads on the rack's base help protect your car's finish from scratches and abrasions.

A security strap and a cable lock (sold separately) are recommended to deter theft of the rack and your bikes.

Video Transcript for Hollywood Racks Gordo 2 Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Gordo trunk-mounted 2-bike rack for bicycles with long wheelbases, part number HRG2. Keep in mind when using this bike rack, the windshield wiper may not be used. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's rear hatch. We'll flip out the two black plastic levers on the left- and right-hand side of the carrier to adjust the bike rack to fit the vehicle's rear hatch. We'll then put the top clips to the top part of the hatch, the side clips to the side part of the hatch, and the bottom clips to the bottom part of the hatch. We then can tighten down the straps to secure the bike rack to the vehicle.

After securing the excess strap, we're ready to load up our bike. Now, for today's test fit, we don't have a bike with a long wheelbase, but what you would do is place the larger end of the frame on the frame cradle. You'll bring the rubber strap around the frame cradle to secure it. You'll then use the gray strap, which is included with the bike rack, to further secure the bike to the rack. Now, there are foam pads here on the bottom side of the rack, which when using the strap, you'll want to secure the bike close to those foam pads. This is going to help prevent the bike from swaying as you're traveling down the road.

With our fictional bike all loaded up, that'll complete today's test fit for the Hollywood Racks Gordo part number HRG2 on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. .

I ride a recumbent bicycle, which is difficult to carry on a typical bike rack. The wider arms on this rack are wonderful--very stable and easy to use. 576788

  • Recommend Trunk Mount Bike Rack for Carrying an Electra Townie on a 2010 Toyota Prius
I do have a trunk mount bike rack option available for your 2010 Toyota Prius, however, the Hollywood Racks Gordo part # HRG2 is not a confirmed fit. For a bike rack that is a confirmed fit and will work well with your Electra Townie, I recommend using the Hollywood Racks Expedition 2 Bike Carrier part # HRF6-2. The Hollywood Expedition 2 uses sturdy anti-sway cradles with soft rubber straps to secure the bikes to the rack. This bike rack will be your best option because the dual adjustable...

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for a P38 Lightning Recumbent Bike and 2013 Ford C-Max Energi
Your P38 Lightning recumbent bike will fit on certain platform style bike racks such as the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider # HR1000Z-R. This rack was specifically designed for recumbent bikes with long wheelbases and large seats. Even with the extended hooks it is possible that they may not reach all the way across the seat. If that happens you can place the bike so that the hook comes down more in front of the seat at the frame. This rack is compatible with 1-1/4 inch Class I and II hitches...

  • Can Cruiser Bike And Womens Mountain Bike Both Fit Trunk-Mount Bike Carrier On 2007 Ford Fusion
The Hollywood Racks Gordo 2 Bike Carrier, part # HRG2 has arms that are spaced 22 inches apart, and is intended to work with bikes with long wheelbases like cruisers, choppers, Townies, and recumbent bikes with a short wheel base. The distance between the arms may not be a fit for other style bikes. The distance from outside to outside of the cradles is 23 inches. I have attached a couple of photos from the installation instructions that shows where the cradle arms are attached to a bike...

  • 2007 Scion tC Bike Rack Recommendation
The Hollywood Racks Gordo # HRG2 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit your 2007 Scion tC, but since Hollywood Racks has determined that your vehicle has a soft bumper I wouldn't recommend going with a trunk mounted bike rack unless the bikes you plan to carry are very lightweight. Beach cruisers are pretty heavy so this wouldn't be your best option. Instead I would strongly recommend you go with a hitch and a hitch mounted bike rack. This way you won't have to worry about your...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2004 Toyota Camry for Carrying Heavier Cruiser Bikes
The Gordo # HRG2 has a 35 lb per bike capacity and would not be what we would recommend for carrying bikes that weigh over 40 lbs like yours. That amount of weight on a trunk bike rack is asking for a problem. Especially on a long road trip like yours. You'd most likely end up with a dented trunk lid when it was all said and done. Best solution is a hitch bike rack. This will give you a secure way to mount the bike rack and you wouldn't have to worry about any vehicle damage. Plus...

  • Recommended Bike Carrier for 2 Firmstrong Beach Cruisers on 2015 Ford Escape Titanium
For your 2015 Ford Escape Titanium, there is only one carrier that may be able to carry a bike of that weight. It is the SeaSucker Komodo Trunk Bike Rack - Fork Mount - Vacuum Cup Mounted # 298-BK1910-SV. This can handle a bike up to 45 lbs. My recommendation for you is to get the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75758 which is a confirmed fit and an easy installation. Then you can use the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-Bike Carrier # HR1450Z-E which can handle...

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2012 Ford Focus Hatch and Electra Beach Cruisers
For a trunk mounted bike rack that is confirmed to fit your 2012 Ford Focus 5 dr hatch I would recommend the Thule Raceway Bike Rack part # TH9001PRO. The Raceway is one of our most popular trunk mounted bike racks and uses a new 4 cable ratcheting system that does not leave excess straps trailing behind your car. This rack has a weight capacity of 70 lbs so it should work well to carry your Electra Beach Cruiser. Since you have an alternative style frame bike you would also want...

  • Recommended Trunk-Mounted Bike Rack for 2002 Volkswagen Cabriolet
I recommend you go with a rack that offers anti-sway cradles like the Hollywood Racks Baja 2, part # HRB2. The anti-sway cradles prevent the bikes from swaying back and forth during travel, which keeps them from banging into each other or the rear of the vehicle. If you'll be transporting women's bikes or bikes with sharply-angled top tubes, you might also consider a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, which...

  • Can Bikes without A Long Wheel be Used on Hollywood Racks Gordo
The Hollywood Racks Gordo # HRG2 is designed to carry bikes with a longer wheel base. The arms are spaced 22 inches apart so if your bikes have a location to hang them from the arms of the rack that fit that measurement it will work for you.

  • How to Carry a Tandem Bike on a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan
I do have an option to safely carry your tandem bike on your 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan, however, it is a hitch mount solution. Currently, we do not stock a trunk mount bike rack able to carry a tandem bike. The hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite # 75119 which has a 2 inch receiver. I chose this hitch for a couple of reasons, first, there is no welding required - it is a bolt on installation, and secondly, it has a 2 inch receiver so if you find you want to tow at a later date, having...

  • Will a Tour Easy Recumbent Bike Fit the Gordo Trunk Mount Bike Rack on a 2013 Ford C-Max
The Hollywood Racks Gordo, # HRG2 has arms spaced further apart then most other racks (23 inches) making it the ideal candidate for a recumbent bike. The seat location should not be an issue on the Tour Easy bikes. If your bike is within the 100 pound limit of the rack then you can use this rack on your 2013 Ford C-Max. However you will need to keep in mind a recumbent bike is going to stick out on the sides of the vehicle more than a regular bike. Keep this in mind when traveling.

  • Trunk Mount Bike Carrier for a 2015 Honda Civic and Mango Macaw FT Cruiser Fat Bike
For your 2015 Honda Civic sedan I recommend the Thule Gateway # TH9006XT. The Gateway is a good quality bike carrier and each arm moves independently allowing for a wider range of bikes to be loaded on the carrier. If your Mango Macaw is a version that as the tapered top frame tube where it is wider/taller near the handle bars are smaller the closer it gets to the seat then you will likely need an adapter bar, # 64005, for this or any trunk mount carrier in order for the cradles to...

  • Can Trunk of 2008 Nissan Sentra Be Accessed w/ Hollywood Racks # HRG2 Gordo Bike Rack Installed
I usually don't recommend opening a rear hatch with a trunk mount bike rack attached. The rack adds additional weight to the hatch lid that it's opening/lifting mechanism might not be rated for. This could cause the hatch lid to close unexpectedly, causing injury. The trunk lid on your Sentra isn't very heavy, nor is the rack. If you're careful about keeping an eye on the lid while you're accessing the trunk, you should be just fine. I'm not entirely sure which lock you're speaking...

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for 2011 Chevy Malibu to Carry Electra and Townie
The trunk mounted bike rack I recommend for your 2011 Chevy Malibu is the Yakima FullBack 2 part # Y02634 as it's lightweight, very easy to install and load bikes onto, it's compatible with your bikes with the adapter bar part # UB01 for the bike frame, and since it has a wide contact pad at the bottom of the rack it does a great job distributing the weight of the bikes and rack on the vehicle. This also comes with locks for the rack to the vehicle and the bikes to the rack! I attached...

Because of the alternative frame design on the Linus Dutchi you would need to use an adapter bar, # TH982XT, to mount the bike to the Thule Passage bike rack # TH911XT. Another option for the alternative frame is the Hollywood Racks Gordo, # HRG2. It has wider arms so you can place the bike on the rack in different locations on the frame. But, this is only a 2 bike rack. I have included some instruction links and a video of the adapter bar for you.
