Video Transcript for Weather Guard Truck Tool Box Review

What's up everybody, it's AJ with Today, we'll be checking out the Weather Guard Truck Tool Box. And this is gonna be a toolbox that goes in the bed of your truck. And you can store your tools in there or whatever you want put in there. It locks, so you can go ahead and close it and nobody can mess with it. It's got a lock on each side.

It's a crossover style too. So that means it sits on your bed rails, but it has a gap at the bottom, so your longer items can still go under there. So you don't have to sacrifice all of your bed space for a toolbox. So it actually helps you keep organized and those longer items can go underneath still too. Let's check it out.

The Weather Guard Box is gonna have 10.5 cubic feet of storage space on the inside. The measurements on the outside are gonna be 72 inches long and it's gonna be 20 and 1/2 inches wide and it's gonna be 18 and 1/2 inches deep, down here. So that's from here to here. Now that doesn't mean much to me. I got some stuff here, we're gonna see how much of it fits in there to help us better visualize how much it actually stores.

So I got four drills that fit in the red tray here up top. And that's nice cause that can be slid back and forth outta the way. And we have six, five-gallon totes. So lets see how many of these we can get in. There's one there.

Looks like we're able to get five, oh, four of those totes in there. There's some space here, so I turned one sideways to help this one fit a little bit better, but I think, I just do it this way. Then we have some space over here still. It's not gonna fit one of these totes. This is bigger than that space, but that's a lot of room in there. And then with these extra ones they can go just underneath. So it's quite a bit of space. There is still some space to stack things on top of it but you don't want to go above this tray if you still want it to slide back and forth. Now, if you don't want it to slide back and forth you're just gonna leave it in one spot. You can get things just a little bit higher before right here is where you can't go above. You still want this to close and the latches, to latch. Now I know you probably won't be putting those totes in the toolbox. So we got a five gallon bucket of tools to put it in there just to make sure it fit because that's probably more likely what people are gonna just throw in here, to help keep organized, keep everything together. So it looks like that's a little, that's taller than the totes we had in there. It looks like it's gonna clear, as long as it's, everything's inside the bucket. If there's things hanging out of this on top. We add some these up here. This wouldn't work cause the lid would hit it so, with those out the way, and everything under the top of this bucket, let's see if it closes. That's actually gonna work just fine. Another feature it has is there's like a rubber grommet down here at the bottom of the box that can be used to run a 12 volt cable out there. Maybe you want to add some lights in here. You can run the cable through there. You don't have to drill a hole in the box to do so. Talking about the top portion of the lid here. So I wanna show you open it up. Let's see the gas struts. They pop it up pretty good. And you see the lid easily came up. I didn't have to do anything. It's still going here now. So that's really important when you go to set this up that, to make sure there's plenty of space between the toolbox and the back cab before you just go ahead and pop it open. Now, another thing I liked was the catches here. So this seems pretty sturdy, this loop. It's gonna go right down here in this latch, and I feel like pretty confident because this is a sturdy piece of steel here. That's gonna go down there. So even if I slam the lid repeatedly. I don't have to worry about it bending or breaking on me. I think that's gonna last a long time. There's tamper proof lock buttons here on the side. So you're gonna have to push this in, to pop open the lid. We'll close it there, and you can also lock both sides. So what that means is with this locked you can't push that button in anymore. It doesn't go flush on the other side, it's also locked. So you can't get that open. Now, one thing you will have to do though, is to unlock it. You'll have to unlock only one side. So if that side was locked I could still hit this button and open it. So it's probably best just to always leave the passenger side locked, that way you only have to worry about locking this side to make sure it's locked up. Another nice thing is these keys can be coded to different boxes. So if you have a whole fleet and you're adding boxes to the back of those trucks, you can get 'em all keyed alike with the same key. One other thing I wanted to add is, the button doesn't depress. So that can be one thing that's kind of annoying. But if you're using your rear view mirror to look back there to make sure like, "oh, did I lock the box" So you look through the mirror and see that if the button's not pushed down, it might make you think it's not, the button doesn't go anywhere. So it's gonna be popped out whether it's locked or not. Then it comes to the install. It's not so bad to do. You just have a couple clamps that go underneath your bed rails here and attach that way. As long as you don't have a plastic liner in the bed that you might have to modify that but there's no drills, no holes need to be drilled. It attaches very easily. We have an installation video that if you wanna check that out. So that part is headache free. Overall, I really like the box. It sits in there and looks pretty good in this truck. I like that it's the crossover style with that gap at the bottom that way you don't sacrifice the whole bed space. You can still fit some longer items in there and that's, you can use your trunk bed, like you want to use it. Plus, keep organized with all the tools protected and locked up so nobody can mess with it. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helped..
