A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

  • What Turnbuckles are Recommended for Torklift Frame Mount Tie-Downs on a 2010 Nissan Frontier
To maintain the warranty of the Torklift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs, # TLN2409 and # TLR3500, for your 2010 Nissan Frontier, you will want 4 spring loaded turnbuckles like the Torklift SpringLoad XL Turnbuckles, # TLS9050A or the FastGun Turnbuckles, # TLS9526. Torklift requires spring loaded turnbuckles for frame mounted tie-downs due to the tension they provide. As you mentioned, these are sold in quantities of two so you would want two sets of the turnbuckle you choose. Torklift...

  • 2015 Nissan Frontier With Aries Round Nerf Bars Torklift Camper Tie Down Compatibility
If your Nissan Frontier has the 6ft bed you should not have a problem. Per Torklift, if your running boards are cab length there should not be any interference between your Aries Round Nerf Bars - 3" Diameter - Semi-Gloss Black Powder Coated Steel, part # AA209019, and the appropriate Torklift Camper Tie Downs. The TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs - Front, part # TLN2409, is your front camper tie-down. If you have a non-Torklift aftermarket hitch receiver you will need the...

  • Will the Camper Tie-Downs for a 2016 Nissan Frontier Fit a 2018 Nissan Frontier?
There are not any custom tie-downs for your 2018 Nissan Frontier at this time. I reached out to my contact at Torklift and they haven't confirmed a fit one way or another for the 2017 or 2018 models for # TLN2409 as of 5/2019. You may want to consider the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs - Bed Mount - Black Powder Coated Steel - Qty 4 # HSAB for campers a little wider than the bed of your truck or the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs - Bed Mount - Black Powder Coated Steel - Qty 4 #...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Custom Fit Truck Bed Camper Tie-Downs for 2005 Nissan Frontier
Since you want to install an aftermarket, non-TorkLift trailer hitch on your 2005 Nissan Frontier you will want to use the TorkLift Custom Camper Tie-Downs # TLN2409 for the front, as you referenced, and # TLR3500 for the rear, rather than the rear tie-down part number you referenced. The TorkLift rear tie-down you referenced will only fit your Frontier if you do not have a trailer hitch or you have a factory hitch because it occupies the same installation location as an aftermarket hitch. • Do You Carry a Universal Camper Tie-Down for My 2016 Nissan Frontier?
Hello Barbara, Although the Torklift tie-downs are an excellent option, they are not your only option. Brophy offers a side bed clamp on option that is more of a universal fit. For the Brophy I have 2 different options for you, the # HSAB and # HSSF. I have attached 2 images with the dimensions so you can measure the side of the bed to see what option will work best for you. There are some other limitations that you will want to keep in mind as well. The external bed rail width cannot...
