Get the safest and most comfortable ride while hauling your camper with tie-downs that mount on the frame of your pickup. With the arms removed, the brackets are barely noticeable. Made of stainless steel and lightweight, rustproof aluminum.
Features:
Heavy-duty strength in a lightweight package: the TorkLift Talon tie-downs are the premium choice for heavy truck campers and unforgiving climates. Made of military-grade aluminum alloy, the removable arms are rustproof and robust while also being lightweight and easy to handle. The receiver brackets are constructed of rugged stainless steel, and both components are protected by a high-impact powder coat finish that guards against wear and tear.
If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity is going to sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.
Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.
Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush to the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not using them and the brackets will be barely visible.
Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.
Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).
Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Torquelift Talon aluminum custom-front frame mounted camper tie downs. Now this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2013 to 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 single rear wheel trucks with the six and a half foot bed. And also, without a board or a step underneath the truck bed and on a custom-fit part like this I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, that'll show if this will work through application. Now these tie-downs, and you just zoom in for our close view. These tie-downs will provide the attachment points at the front of your truck, for securing your bed-mounted camper to your vehicle.
We do also offer rear tie-downs. Those are sold separately. Basically one tie-down will go on the driver's side. One goes on the passenger side. And then the two holes right here that are on the tie-down inserts, that'll allow you to connect your turn buckles from your camper to your truck, and not interfere with anything on the vehicle.
As we mentioned, the inserts that go into the steel mounting brackets, these are made of aluminum. Also, if you notice there'll be two holes on the shank. I'm going to take one out here just to show you. Take them out by removing the pin and clip, slide that out. And then you'll notice on the aluminum shank, it has two holes, and the reason they do that, it'll allow for different width camper.
So when you slide this in, go to pin it the first hole will give you for a wider camper. Slide it to the second hole for a little bit narrower camper. Now, when these are installed you'll feel dramatic improvement with the vehicle handling and stability, because it's the safest way to haul a truck camper. Helps prevent any vehicle sway and camper movement, in all directions. You can haul your truck camper confidently by attaching your tie-downs to the strongest part of the truck, which is the frame.
Now vehicle manufacturers do recommend that all full-height slide-in camper bodies should be directly attached to the vehicle frame structure. The frame-mounted design ensures excellent handling by securing a camper to the truck's base instead of to the bed, which will better distribute the weight and keep the setup from being too top-heavy. It will also help avoid any bed or bumper damage. It's common with other tie-down systems. Now to install this it's a fast, no drill installation. Securing your truck camper to your truck. It'll maintain the value of your truck, and prevent rust and bed damage, by avoiding drilling into your truck bed or bumper. These are custom-fit for your vehicle, the driver's side and the passenger side brackets. The brackets will fit tight to the truck frame. So there's no loss of any ground clearance. So they're perfect for off-road truck camping and what's nice is after these installed, basically they're virtually undetectable when they're not being used. If the tie-down inserts out of this, these brackets are all underneath the truck. You can't even tell it. The tie-downs, as I showed you, can be easily removed from the frame mount or brackets with the included pins here. The hidden design of the frame brackets will return your truck to its original look when it's not being used as tie-downs. And what's nice, is they do include these rubber caps that when you take out your insert, just put that over there. That one will keep any dirt or grime from getting in there, protect it. Now these are a steel construction. These brackets here are a steel construction. They have a nice black powder coat finish on them for durability. It will include the two aluminum inserts, here and here. The two steel frame brackets, all your necessary hardware to install it. The rubber caps, even a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. So basically we're just going to slide this in. We'll line up the hole, slide your pin through, clip it. And now you're all ready to connect to your camper. These parts are made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the Torquelift Talon aluminum custom-front frame mounted camper tie-downs..
