Keeps Camper Stable and Secure

HappiJac Tie-Down Brackets

The HappiJac Direct-to-Frame design ensures proper distribution of your camper's weight and helps prevent your camper from moving in all directions for a safe and secure ride. The front tie-down brackets attach to your truck bed's frame, between the bed and the cab, allowing the tie-downs to become integral parts of your truck. Already, this sets them apart from stake-pocket-mounted tie-downs, which secure the entire load of your camper to the tops of your bed rails, forming a top-heavy setup that can create an uncomfortable and unnatural ride.

HappiJac Tie-Down Setup

An I-beam stabilizing bar (sold separately) installs horizontally between the front brackets to help create a truss-like structure that spans the width of your bed, down to both corners of your bumper, where the rearmost tie-downs install. Holding the camper taut at these 4 corners - as opposed to along the sides of your bed, like you'd find with other tie-down systems - helps to reduce any front-to-back shifting of your camper during travel.

HappiJac Tie-Down Centering Guides

In addition to the Direct-to-Frame design, the included centering guide lock assemblies further help to prevent shifting. Each assembly includes a bumper pad and roller, and they attach to each front tie-down bracket.

Attach the assembly to the bracket so that the roller runs along the side of your camper to help guide the camper into place while you're mounting it. Because the centering guide lock assemblies are positioned at the sides of your camper, they too will help hold your camper in place by inhibiting side-to-side movement.

Anchor Points are Nearly Undetectable

HappiJac Anchor Points

When you're not hauling your camper, you don't have to worry about bulky brackets sticking out of your truck, creating an eyesore or hazard. The front anchor plates remain permanently installed between your cab and truck bed, leaving only the discrete anchor points just behind your cab visible.

The rear tie-downs attach to the corners of your rear bumper. And with a quick quarter-turn, each rear anchor removes from the bracket to create a clean look.

Sturdy Steel Construction

HappiJac Tie Downs

HappiJac components are constructed of sturdy steel for a reliable and stable ride. The powder coated front tie-downs and chrome-plated rear anchors both resist rust and corrosion.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with Today, we're taking a look at the HappiJac custom tie-downs for your truck bed campers. This kit is going to allow to you to get your Ram equipped to haul a slide-in camper. It's going to provide two attachment points in the front and two attachment points in the back so that you can secure all four corners of your camper to your Ram. You're not going to have to worry about any sort of side to side, front to back, or up and down movement.

It's going to keep your camper nice and secure. This is a custom fit for most of your 2002 through 2009 Dodge Ram 1500s, although I do recommend checking the fit guide on the product page to ensure that it's going to work with your model. It does feature direct-to-frame brackets, so instead of mounting to the bed of your truck, it's going to connect to the frame instead, which is going to help distribute the weight and keep the setup from being too top-heavy, again to help decrease any sort of movement from the camper. Your center guide locks here are going to prevent the camper from shifting side to side. It's going to keep it nice and centered. Your rear anchors again are going to install into your truck's bumper to give you that third and fourth attachment points so that your camper is not moving in the bed of your truck. This kit is going to include two of our front anchor plates, two of our backing plates, our two guide plates, as well as the two L-brackets. We are going to also have the two centering guide locks as well as the two rear anchors that go into the bumper, all the hardware that we're going to need to get it installed, and of course the instructions that will help us to do it ourselves. Now our installation is going to require holes to be drilled in the bed of the truck, but the installation guide walks you through that so you're not going to have to drill any unnecessary holes or anything.

It's very clear on where to drill. There are a couple of things that are not included in this kit that you are going to need. One of those is the stabilizing bar. This stabilizing bar is going to create an I-beam truss structure to help reduce the stress on your truck's frame so that you're not going to damage your truck. It is not included in this kit.

It can be found separately here at or you can find a kit that includes all of this and the stabilizing bar here at as well.Another thing that is not included in this kit that I would recommend picking up is going to be your turnbuckles, which will hold your camper down to your tie-downs on your truck. I have an example of one here. It's a simple mechanism. The hook is going to mount onto your camper. The other hook is going to mount onto your tie-downs on your truck.

This is the HappiJac Qwik-Load set. It's going to have a little more features that'll allow you to quickly get that connection made. You can find a set of these here at, the HappiJac Qwik-Load set, using part number LC182895. There's also a original turnbuckle set that's not going to have the handle. It's just going to have the hook and the turnbuckle and the hook at the top. You can find that here at as well, using part number LC182898.Our tie-downs are made of steel, so they're going to be dependable. You're not going to have to worry about them falling apart on you or anything like that. The kit is made here in the USA. It comes with a one-year warranty from HappiJac, so that's going to give us a little extra peace of mind, knowing that HappiJac is going to stand behind their product. That's going to complete our look at the HappiJac custom tie-downs for your truck bed camper.
