Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Carr Side Mount Hide Away Step for Work Trucks. Now, if you are looking for an easier way to access the gear in your work truck, this sturdy side mount hide away step might be just what you need. The grated platform step makes it easy to access your side cargo, and it mounts to the flat surface under your toolbox on your work truck. This is designed to fit trucks with flat platform-type frames. Now, this extra large non-skid platform offers you sure footing, while this grated platform lets dirt and water drain through to prevent buildup, and to my bare hands here, this is a very rough textured grating, almost sharp, so it's going to offer you very sure footing, you're not gonna have to worry about easily slipping off of this, especially with your work boots, this is going to give you just the grip that you need to step on here with confidence. And the step platform itself measures 24 inches long by about 7 1/2 inches wide, and the hide away design extends out or stores under your vehicle with the push of your foot.

Now, obviously, I can't demonstrate this with my foot, but I would like to show you how this works. So I'm just going to push this step in, and as you can see, that's going to open up very smoothly for you, and it has this gas strut here that's gonna give you that smooth operation when you push it to open or close, and so, this is what it's gonna look like open, ready for you to use, and this step extends about 7 1/4 inches from the frame. And then to close it again, you will just push it with your foot, and then that will latch, and it is going to be in the stored position. Now, this is made in the USA of a sturdy rustproof steel construction with a weight capacity of 500 pounds. It features a really good corrosion-resistant black powder coat finish that I don't think is going to chip or peel or fade easily at all, I think this is going to be able to take quite a bit of punishment, and that finish is going to last you quite some time.

Overall, this is a very rugged, a very sturdy step, and this step comes fully assembled, and this is gonna be a simple bolt-on installation, it comes with the hardware that you're gonna need to install along with the instructions to guide you step by step. It may require you however to cut the metal straps to fit your toolbox. Now, I gave you the measurements of just the step platform itself, let me give you the measurements of the frame. The overall length of the frame from end to end, we're sitting at 29 inches long, and then the width of the frame, we're sitting right at 13 1/4 inches wide, and then the height of the frame, we're sitting right at about four inches. Now, measuring these mounting holes along the side of the frame, measuring the width first center to center in between these holes, we're sitting right at 5 1/2 inches, again, center to center on those mounting holes measuring the width, and then measuring the length, center to center on these mounting holes, we're sitting right at 27 1/8 inches.
