I’ve had this step for over a year and it has worked great. It still works as it did the first day I put it on. It looks like new too. It was easy to install. If you don't have a step assist to get into the bed of your truck this will do the trick. Well worth the money.
Scott A - 05/05/2021Purchased the Trek Step for my 2018 Ram 2500 Mega Cab. It took my about fifteen minutes to install the step following the instruction provided. All mounting parts were included and only needed a few common tools. The step extends and retracts easily and feels secure while stepping up and descending the truck bed. The step is made of aluminum and feels to be made strong. Recommended if you need a little help stepping into your high truck bed.

Brooke M - 04/25/2022Bought this as a step for my 2018 Ram 2500. The bed of this truck is higher off the ground than I remember my F250 being. You can climb into it (not a pretty sight), but this step makes it way easier for me (and everyone else) to get in with ease. I'm one year in and it seems to be working as well as it did the first day. No rust or change in the spring action of the step.
Had to wait a little longer than expected to get this item, but totally worth it! Easy to install and really strong step. I especially like that it mounts to the frame, making it very sturdy. Will be buying a couple more for our kids who both have fairly tall trucks. Only regret I have is that I didn't wash the truck before taking the pictures.
Purchased as "used" or "damaged" from etrailer for a significantly discounted price. Arrived in good condition, other than some wear and tear on the box, everything else looked like new and was complete. Installation was relatively simple, 30 - 45 minutes including several adjustment increments. Overall I am well pleased with this step, it certainly makes getting into the bed of my RAM 2500 much easier! I have made quite a few purchases from etrailer over the last several years and find their product choices, website, technical information, shipping, and customer service to be truly superior.
After one year the step works great, and looks great. No issues. Makes getting into the back of the bed easy.
Joe B - 08/08/2020The price of this step seemed rather high when I bought it, but once I received it I could immediately tell it was worth it. It is very solidly built, and has an excellent non-slip surface to stand on. It expands and retracts with just slight pressure, and is adjustable left and right as to how much you want it to extend out to the side of the bumper. Installation was a breeze, with no fitting or grumbling.
Todd - 03/06/2019The Bestop TrekStep is just what I was looking for, an easier way to get into the bed of my Ram 2500. The installation was clear and straightforward. It took about 20 minutes. This retractable step is now the coolest thing on my truck! I really appreciate the way it is tucked under the bumper until it is needed. Then, with the flick of my shoe, the step drops down and I can easily step up onto the tailgate of my truck! When I am back on the ground, a simple tap up with my shoe and the TrekStep is tucked back under the bumper.
The online order process was effortless and product arrive in a timely manner with free freight. Installation and instruction were to the point easy to follow and simple install.
Arrived when scheduled. Installation went exactly as the directions indicated, took about 30 minutes total, including putting the tools away. And that was with a 110 degree heat index today. Looks good, and functions perfectly.

Just in stalled this step on a 2019 Ram Class 1500. The installation was straight forward with no issues. What I do not like is: 1) when the step is in the folded position it is not parallel with the bottom of the bumper and there are no adjustments to resolve this. 2) Again with it is in the folded position there is a lot of play at the hinge which could cause a rattling noise.
I gave the bestop Trekstep a four star review only because I just reciently put it on my truck and only used it once but it looks promising. Easy to install with the instructions provided. The item was delivered a little late but got a courtesy call to let me know. Hard to find service like that any more.
I received the box and it was in a little rough shape, most likely shipping damage. But when I opened the box all was ok, no damage.
I am very happy with the condition of the step, as it was test fitted on another vehicle and was considered used. It was in better condition than I expected. I have already installed it on my truck about 30 minutes for installation, could have been less but I needed to add a spacer and also test fitted everything first.

Great product at a great price! You simply cannot beat the quality of this step at any price. I highly recommend the Bestop Trekstep Bumper Step!
Installed on a 2015 Ram 3500 DRW. Very quick and straightforward install and invaluable for getting into and out of truck bed. Very effective. Product shows no deterioration after 1 year. Only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars, is that the end caps will start to slide out and need to be periodically pushed/kicked back in. A bit of RTV or similar will stop this from happening.

The step was awesome on my Ram 2500.
Great customer service. The first one did not work for my RAM 1500. After a simple email and phone call. I had a return label for the one and the replacement being shipped. I love my bumper step.
I give it 2 stars: deduct 1 for poor hardware; 1 for instructions that are inaccurate and 1 for a weak spring.
I’m purchasing my own hardware to replace the inadequate suspect/counterfeit stuff supplied. This hardware should be at a minimum, locking (Nylock) or Loctite should be supplied. I bet the lawyers will have fun when one of these comes loose at 60mph and kills someone.
Other than that, two stars. One for it works. One for it being stout.
Very easy installation. Perfect fit. The step makes access to my 2017 Ram 2500 HD pickup bed easy. The parts seem to be of high quality, and the instructions were clear. Very quick shipping, too.
I have Torklift frame mounted camper tie downs. The step does fit but will not be able to fold back (see photos)
Easy install but someone needs to tell Bestop to add a 14MM socket to the tools needed section.
2017 Ram 3500 DRW
This is a God-send. I have bad knees and it allows me to get into the back of my truck. I have been stopped by other truck owners wondering where to get this step. I send them to etrailer.
