Today you're going to be taking a look at the Best Stop Truck Step line of bumper steps. The Best Stop Truck Step line of bumper steps are designed to fit a wide variety of vehicles so make sure etrailer.com's fit guide for your specific application.Whenever you need to get something out of the bed of your truck, with the tailgate down it makes it a lot more difficult to get in there. We're either going to have to lift our leg up all the way up to the bumper, or possibly sit on the tailgate and turn in. Our step is going to make it a lot easier. It's a spring loaded step that's going to come out beneath our bumper so we can get in the bed a lot easier and safer. The nice thing about this step is that it is going to work with the tailgate down or up. So even if the tailgate is up we can still use the bumper as a step and feel a little more confident when we're getting in or out of our truck bed. It's spring loaded, so whenever we're not using it we can simply just push it up and it'll tuck up nicely against the bumper. You can adjust how close the step is going to be to the bumper, that way you can get your foot in there to activate the step and pull it down.Unlike some of the other steps this is going to be made out of a high strength aluminum alloy, so we're not going to have to worry about plastic getting brittle in the cold temperatures.Since our step is going to mount to the frame and not to the hitch it's going to leave our hitch open for any kind of accessories we want to put in.Our platform is also going to be made out of aluminum and have a non-skid texture to it so we can have a secure footing.
Now the platform is going to be 11 1/2 inches long by 6 1/2 inches deep. Our step is going to have a total weight capacity of 300 pounds, and it is going to include everything you need to get it installed. One of the best things about it is, is that we're not going to have to cut or drill anything it's a simple bolt on installation. That'll finish up your look at the Best Stop Truck Step line of bumper steps.

Use your foot to lower this spring-loaded step from beneath your vehicle's rear bumper to easily access gear in the bed. The step bolts on without drilling, retracts under your truck for storage and works with your tailgate open or closed.I used to keep a very short step ladder in the bed of my truck so it wouldn't be so hard on me to climb into the bed. That wasn't always so easy to do as it wasn't always within reach. With this step, it's always ready and waiting. It tucks under the bumper and you hardly know it's even there!!! I love it, it operates hands free too! Yee Hah! The only problem I see with it is you have to push it down on only the right hand side of the step pad, otherwise it won't come down. The other problem is you have to use the very tip of your shoe to get enough bite on it to get it to swing down, that is no problem for me, but if a person and heavy boots on, might not be able to get down with your toe. But all in all, I still love this!
Easy to install. Haven't got a chance to use it a lot yet but seems to work really well. I am proud of it.
The step is a great addition to my work truck!
The product is everything it claims. The instructions claim installation time is 30 minutes. It took longer to get the tools together than it took to install the step. A special thank you to etrailer.com. After placing the order, I received a phone call advising they were waiting for a shipment of the Bestop TrekStep Truck Bumper Step, and were concerned that I would need the product before they were able to get their shipment. What service!!
Looks great , easy to install and the finish on it looks nice . Glad I purchased one , ..the instructions were very helpful for what parts to use for each model
Product works great, took a little work to get bracket connected to truck but not to bad. Thanks,
Installed product yesterday. It was relatively easy to install. I appreciate Kevin making the effort to get it too me ASAP> It works as advertised. Makes it much easier for the old man to get into the back of his truck.

I’ve had this step for over a year and it has worked great. It still works as it did the first day I put it on. It looks like new too. It was easy to install. If you don't have a step assist to get into the bed of your truck this will do the trick. Well worth the money.

Great product quality worth the price. But installation is somewhat difficult for 1 person to do while laying out in the driveway. Not everyone has access to a lift. Took some doing but it's finally installed & in use.

Purchased the Trek Step for my 2018 Ram 2500 Mega Cab. It took my about fifteen minutes to install the step following the instruction provided. All mounting parts were included and only needed a few common tools. The step extends and retracts easily and feels secure while stepping up and descending the truck bed. The step is made of aluminum and feels to be made strong. Recommended if you need a little help stepping into your high truck bed.

Purchased as "used" or "damaged" from etrailer for a significantly discounted price. Arrived in good condition, other than some wear and tear on the box, everything else looked like new and was complete. Installation was relatively simple, 30 - 45 minutes including several adjustment increments. Overall I am well pleased with this step, it certainly makes getting into the bed of my RAM 2500 much easier! I have made quite a few purchases from etrailer over the last several years and find their product choices, website, technical information, shipping, and customer service to be truly superior.

This is a quality product. It is solidly manufactured and functions exactly as it should. Install was fairly easy except for one minor flaw which is the reason I only gave four stars. I can now get into the bed of my truck with the flick of a foot instead of jumping on the tailgate and rolling in. The kit comes with spacers to allow you to adjust how far you want the step from the bumper. The problem is if you don’t want to use the spacers the cap screw threads are too short and the screw will not seat. This is a problem that hasn’t been addressed as I read other reviews that mentioned it and my truck is a 2018. I solved the issue by using one of the spacers and adding an extra washer which allowed the screw to be tightened.

The TrekStep is well made and works great. It was purchased to make getting in/out of the bed with the tailgate down easier and safer. I only gave it 4 stars because of some unnecessary difficulty installing the it. The provided M6-1.0 x 75 mm Socket Cap Screw is only partially threaded. As a result, unless one or both of the 1/4" Spacers are used, the Cap Screw will not seat against the Mounting Bracket as indicated in step 3 of the installation instructions (see attached photo). I wanted the step to be as close as possible to the bumper in the retracted position so I had to install the Spacers on top of the Mounting Bracket instead of between the Mounting Bracket and Linkage Assembly as indicated in step 7 of the installation instructions. If the Cap Screw had been threaded like the Hex Head Bolts, I would not have had to use the Spacers like I did to make it fit.

Trekstep came quickly and was easy to install! Works great, I bought one for a friend too!
Review from a similar TrekStep in Truck Bed Step
Installed on a 2014 GMC 1500 Sierra w/o the step bumper. Installation was longer than the instructions indicted, but that was due to the manufacturer's bolts. The bolts for installing on the frame should be 1/4' long due to the design of the step. It was tough getting the nuts threaded. Would be better if the bolts were the same as OEM bumper fasteners. Other than that installation was easy. Reviews only lets you upload one photo??? Step works as advertised and I am pleased with it so far, but I will have to wait and see our it weathers a Canadian winter in Manitoba. (Road salt, slush, snow, sand, etc....)

Review from a similar TrekStep in Truck Bed Step
Great product! I call it my "old man step". When the tailgate is down on my Tundra, it was difficult to climb in and out of the bed. This step did the trick. It took me about an hour to install. It looks good and folds away neatly.

Literature says 4 hours and difficult install but that is not correct. I got steps for both sides and the install was on your back but easy especially with a head lamp. I did not need the shims for my Ram 1500 as the steps retracted nicely just under the bumper.

This was not an easy install on my 2020 F350 SuperDuty because the attachment point was not properly identified in the instructions. I made it work, but I don't think it is as sturdy as it should be.
Review from a similar TrekStep in Truck Bed Step
This was not an easy install and the step is not secured as sturdy as it should be. I am careful not to put too much weight on it. The attachment points on my 2020 F350 were difficult to locate and I had to get customer service to help. It's working but I am careful not to put too much weight on it.

Bought this as a step for my 2018 Ram 2500. The bed of this truck is higher off the ground than I remember my F250 being. You can climb into it (not a pretty sight), but this step makes it way easier for me (and everyone else) to get in with ease. I'm one year in and it seems to be working as well as it did the first day. No rust or change in the spring action of the step.

The Bestop Trekstep was easy install. I'm 65 and did it in half an hour. The step easily flips down and back up with my foot and cuts the stretch up to the tailgate in half. Very solid feel to it. No flex I can detect at all. Very substantial fastening system to the truck.
