Video Transcript for Truck Trolley Truck Bed Slide Out Tray Comprehensive Review

Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Truck Trolley Truck Bed Slide Out Tray. Now this will be a great option if you're looking for something that's pretty versatile and really easy to use. As you can see right here, this is gonna allow you to access a lot of parts of the bed that you weren't able to before. But before we get into any of the other details about this carrier, I actually brought Zach out here today. He's actually lived with this for a little bit and I wanted to get his opinion on what he thought of it.

So Zach, what'd you think of this carrier Yeah, when I tested this out, I was kind of considering looking at a more permanent, heavy duty option when I first got the truck, then I quickly realized the price and how much I really don't need to meet that capacity. So when I first started using this, it was pretty light duty stuff. Occasional trips to the store, but then it really started to shine the longer I used it and lived with it. Family holidays, like going home for Christmas and getting all of our luggage and Christmas gifts, and being able to wheel 'em out real easily instead of reaching into the back of the truck, going to the hardware store, getting mulch and soil and stuff to do some small landscaping jobs. It was really nice being able to wheel it out and not have to crawl in the back of the truck for me and my wife.

But the nice thing was how easy it was to just take it out. With that big, heavy, expensive one, those we inchesre pretty sweet. We've installed a couple here before. But I liked that I could take it out to maximize the space when I had bigger stuff that I was moving around for friends and family. That's awesome.

Yeah, and I can definitely tell, moving this around, it is perfect for really reaching into the back of your vehicle. And on top of that, you even have this camper here up top and that's probably gonna limit you on what you can really reach. So I think this probably saved you a lot of time, right Yeah, yeah. For sure. Like I said, I wasn't for sure how it was gonna work out for me, but we ended up liking it quite a bit.

Awesome. That's great to hear. Thanks again, Zach, for stopping by. Yeah, thanks. But other than daily uses, this has a lot of other great uses too. Like I said, this is very versatile. If you're someone who likes camping, this is gonna be perfect because you'll be able to put all your accessories in one spot. So if you have any propane tanks, coolers, or any extra large boxes, we can keep a lot of your other accessories like your tent or even your sleeping bag. All of that is gonna fit on here and just make it a lot easier to work with. Like this box we have, I can actually come over here, grab my tent. Before, if I didn't have this, I would have to reach over my bed. Or in some cases, like with this camper shell, I won't be able to re reach this at all. It's also great if you are doing any type of home improvement. So if you need to grab some extra tools, some smaller pieces of wood or even mulch for your garden, you can put that on top of here too. And lastly, even if you have a kid who's in a lot of sports, trying to lug that around can be kinda hard sometimes. Just 'cause that stuff can get tangled up and get messy. Keeping it in one spot where it's more organized and just easier to access, it's just gonna make your life a lot easier. Now let's kinda focus on what it's gonna be like to live with. So you can tell, I have a lot of stuff on here and it's weighing it down quite a bit. We are gonna have a max capacity of 300 pounds, but this is gonna feel like it's a pretty smooth transition. I might have to put a little bit of body weight into it since it is pretty heavily loaded up, but that's really not too bad. The reason why it's able to move like that is if we look at the bottom, you'll notice we have a couple set of casters. And since we have a lot of 'em, they're all working together to get this to travel out. As you can see, the way we have this placed on here kind of lets us have a little bit of overhang off our tailgate. That's okay, 'cause you really shouldn't be loading this up too heavily at the very end. That should be 300 pounds dispersed on here. But this allows me to reach a lot of different points that I couldn't access before. And we look over at the center, you'll notice we do have this hinge. This is what Zach was kind of mentioning earlier. This is gonna be something where you can actually fold this in on itself. I like this because it gives you the option to really make this more compact. So if you ever do run into the scenario where you don't need this in your bed at the moment because maybe it's not gonna work nicely with something you're trying to haul, all you have to do is simply fold this up and push it over to the side of your vehicle, and it's really not gonna take up any space at all. So if you're worried about yourself kind of sliding around, there are a few things put in place to keep everything nice and tidy. So you could use this tie off point here. There's gonna be most of this just down your tray. And you can actually strap down your gear so it doesn't topple over. Something to really think about would be this water heater right here. If I just move this out of our way. If I didn't have anything next to it, what could happen is it could topple over pretty easily. So just having that extra strap that could hold it down is just gonna give us a little bit more peace of mind. Now there's gonna be something else that's gonna help keep things more stable, and it's gonna be these interior trays. You'll notice this has a little bit of depth to it. This will almost be two inches. That's perfect because if you have anything smaller, like this item we have right here, that kind of keeps everything in place so you don't have to worry about that toppling over or sliding off of this tray. Let's kind of dive into some of the more specs or details about this. So taking a closer look at this, you'll notice we do have this space here where we can store our items so they don't slide all over the place. And that's gonna be about 15 inches in width. That's important though because that's kind of narrow and some boxes might not fit there. I think that's okay 'cause we even have a little tote here. This isn't necessarily stacked on here, it's in the center, but it has stuff around it to help keep it in place. And like I said, you can strap your items down. Even if something doesn't perfectly fit in here, you can kind of put it in an angle. Still good. Now also, we'll notice we do have these little notches cut out around here. And what you can actually do with that is I've seen people put two by fours in here. And they've even put some across from there too to kind of make a type of cubby. So you can actually remove that and place it back in here. And that's great if you have any type of smaller items. And let's kind of talk about what this is gonna be constructed of. So this is gonna be made from a heavy duty plastic. And what I like about that is it's gonna be less likely of eroding over time like you would find with any type of metal or wood trays that slide out. Now when we look at the wheels, you'll notice it's not gonna be made from a very similar material. They're more light duty, more to speak. But they be less likely of breaking down on you since there are so many of 'em to help support each other. And I have heard in the past of some of these kind of falling off. Really all you have to do to fix that is just push 'em right back into place and they'll be as good as new. And lastly, this is gonna work with most beds. As long as your bed is under eight feet, it's gonna be a fit. And even if your bed is eight feet, they do have a version of this that is designed to fit your eight foot beds. And what I really like about this is this isn't gonna be a permanent installation. And you don't have to worry about drilling anything into your bed. It's just be a couple straps holding this into place, so it's really quick and easy to remove and put back in. Now, in my opinion, I think there's gonna be a solid choice for anyone who is just wanting to use this on a daily basis if you have a camper shell, or if you just have issues trying to reach into the back of your bed. It's just gonna make things just a little bit easier to manage and organize too. I especially like that we have these slots to keep everything together. Now, if you're someone who is more so using for work applications and you need something very heavy duty, that carry your tools, any type of concrete, then I'd actually recommend the Bed Slide Trays. What's great about those is they're gonna have a weight capacity of a thousand pounds and that's gonna be able to carry most things in the back of your bed. The downside is you're gonna be much heavier, a lot more of a hassle to install in your bed. And on top of that, they're gonna be at a much more premium price range. As opposed to something like this, that's gonna be more ideal for someone just using on a daily basis for any type of home decor they need to put for their house, or any type of sports equipment or camping.
