Video Transcript for Detailed Breakdown of the BedTred Impact Truck Bed Mat

Hi everyone, it's Eva Angelina here at etrailer and today we're be taking a look at our BedTred Impact Truck Bed Mat. This is gonna be a liner for your truck bed. If you want a quick and easy solution for protecting your truck bed floor, that's where the BedTred Impact comes in handy. So this is gonna be a foam and TPO construction style liner because it's gonna provide a smoother surface compared to your really gritty spray-in liners. But you also have that foam to absorb the impact. So those dents and dings won't be affecting your truck bed floor anymore.

This is gonna be custom fit for your vehicle. So we're gonna have cutouts that fit around your vehicles, truck contours. So make sure to use our fit guide here at etrailer so that you can get the right fit for your truck. Note that the BedTred Impact is gonna be a floor mat. So this covers your truck bed floor.

If you want to have that protection all over your truck bed, including your sidewalls and rail walls, we have a solution for that too that's gonna be the BedRug Impact. So that includes polypropylene carpeted style sidewalls. So you get the impact absorption of your BedTred Impact format, and you have protection for those sides as well. So we have the universal rubber mat. Those are nice if you just want something very quick, if you wanna use it with your different vehicles, they're not contoured to your vehicle they're basically just a long, straight rectangle.

They have thicker rubber on them though. So if you have heavier loads and you're really, really worried about your truck bed, that might be more preferable. I still personally think so that the impact absorption of this mat works really well. That foam is very thick and I do like the TPO construction on top. So this is definitely gonna be an upgrade compared to your rubber universal mats.

But if you wanna go a step further, definitely check out our BedRug Impact, where it covers everything. It's still gonna be more preferable to a plastic drop in liner since you have better fit, you get to utilize all of your truck bed space, plastic liners, stick out a bit further out from your sidewalls and you sometimes lose those anchor points. So definitely something worth checking out. Please check out our product pages here at etrailer, where we have more in-depth videos on pretty much every product. So let's talk about the construction of this liner. Notice how I don't have this stuck to our vehicle yet. That's because I try this out on a bunch of different trucks, just to see how it works, how it fits, how much I like it. So when it comes to the construction underneath you have a three quarter inch foam, that's gonna be absorbing your impact. You also get these adhesive strips that use hooks and loop patches. So this is gonna secure your liner to your truck bed. Whether you have a bear truck bed, or a spray in liner, you can adhere to that. On top of that foam, you have the TPO construction. So this is a good blend of anti-skid surface, but still a smooth surface, especially compared to your gritty spray in liners or some of your plastic liners. You have a smooth surface that's safe on your knees and your hands, but you still have small grit there so your items don't slide around. And here by your Tailgate hinge we have a mesh covering. So this is gonna be a different material from the mat itself. You're gonna have flexibility there, which will allow you to open and close your Tailgate with no problem, but still provides that full surface. That way all of your truck bed is lined including your Tailgate. So the construction of the impact mat is very similar to the foam you'd find in life jackets, that's gonna be the full mask and be absorbing your impact. So it's a very nice blend of that foam and then that TPO construction on top. Now, if you do wanna clean this mat, I've been walking around on it all day, all week, even all kinds of stuff. So we do have a fair amount of dust, but I just sweep it out no problem. If I really wanna wash it, I could easily power wash it because of that construction it holds up through different chemicals, so whether you have oil or even bleach, you're gonna be fine now because you just put this on the floor of your truck bed you might wonder what if it rains What if it snows What if I spill water onto it The way that works is that foam and that TPO material there, since your life jackets don't, or are designed to resist mold and mildew, since you're always in water, this is what that does to, water goes on it and then just goes over to your side and uses your own truck drain holes. So you're still gonna have some water underneath, 'cause it doesn't completely close off the seams, but it's okay. Prep work, you are gonna have some adhesive strips at the end of those OTs of strips, you have hook and loop patches. So those patches are gonna placed underneath your liner. Follow the instructions for your specific vehicle, but do not take off the adhesive strip first, just make sure it's patched on you are gonna need to prep your truck beds. So in our case here, we do not have a spray-in liner so this is perfectly fine. I recommend using rubbing alcohol at all of the places where you're gonna need on using the adhesive. If you do have a spray in liner, no problem either because we do have a separate special kit to allow you to adhere to that spray in liner as well. So once you've thoroughly cleaned your surfaces with alcohol and you've allowed the alcohol to dry you're then ready to place your liner on your vehicle. And if you have a Tailgate cover, make sure to take that off. If this is a spray in liner, make sure to use a special adhesive and then go ahead and just drop your liner in. With everything in place now you take your adhesive strip off and then you just make sure everything is lined up with your truck bed. Once that's done, you are done with the install. So my personal thoughts about this truck bed mat is I really like how quick and easy. Just straight out of the box, we just unroll it, drop it into your truck bed. And if you want a bit more of a permanent secure fit, you go ahead and use those adhesive and hook and loop patches those secure to your truck bed. Even if you have a spray in liner, perfectly fine. I've worked in trucks with spray in liners, and I find that my hands are torn up afterwards, you're uncomfortable on the knees. So if your focus is comfort, if you plan on sitting in your truck, working in your truck, this might be a very good option for you. And that was look here at our BedTred Impact Truck Bed floor mats for your beds that have bare beds or spray in liners so right here at etrailer, my name is Eva Angelina and I hope you enjoyed the journey..

First off, I would give etrailer 5 stars, they are awesome. This bed liner however is not what I expected. It is about 3/4 inches thick but is like a closed cell foam rubber skinned with a thin layer of hard plastic on top. It is molded to fit the bed corrugations which is nice but has a lot of "give" to it.
The liner is hook and loop into the bed and is VERY light. The tailgate extension is sealed to the main liner which I like. The tailgate cover is hook and loop onto the tailgate as well. That part is not long for this world for a work truck as the exposed edge at the top of the tailgate is just that, exposed for all heavy objects to snag on the way into the truck bed when the tailgate is opened. The cover also does not sit flush with the center of the tailgate, it sort of bulges so to speak. I had figured I would use the tailgate access panel attachment screws to better hold the cover into place but the cover is so soft fear it would just look like junk.
The main mat itself is short of going all the way to the sides by quite a bit, maybe an inch or so all the way around. Given they molded the bottom to fit the corrugation, they could have easily molded the bottom to fit the curvature of the bed sides/bottom and continued the mat another 2-3 inches on left and right sides to protect better.
I chose to use the mat as I made my bed so to speak but in the past, the hard, firm rubber mats and hard plastic screw down liners for tailgates have served me perfectly. Time will tell and if this cover works better than I fear, will happily correct my review.
Again though, etrailer is an awesome company to work with.

Have had Bed Rug Impact mats prior to this, when I purchased this truck the Bed Rug brand was backordered. Sales person pointed me at this becuase it was in stock and I wasn't wanting to wait.
A year later, I sure wish the Bed Rug had been in stock, this isn't holding up too well. Feels and looks very cheap compared. The way it attaches to the tailgate there is always some thing catching on it and pulling at it, the Bed Rug Impact mat also had a mesh connecting between the bed and the tailgate mat, stuff wouldn't fall thru but it held no water.
I intend to replace this at some point. Pretty disappointed in it, I'd heard of WeatherTech but I'll prolly pass on their stuff in the future.

Placing the order was as easy as 1,2,3 for placement. The customer service rep understood what I wanted to purchase and improve my towing capabilities of my 2019 Ford F150 5.0. Upon the completion of my order I was given a time frame of my purchases. Well one of my purchases arrived damaged and I called etrailer. Lori understood my frustration and immediately started the process of replacing the damaged items.
I thank the staff of etrailer for being fairly priced and customer oriented.

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch With Least Cutting for Mat in bed of 2022 Ford F-450 With Pucks
The least intrusive 5th wheel hitch that will fit with the puck system on your 2022 Ford F-450 Super Duty is the Reese M5 # RP30922. It has actual legs where it connects to the puck system so you'll be cutting 4 holes as opposed to whole sections out of the BedTred Impact Truck Bed Mat # IMQ17LBS. I would start out by cutting just enough for the pucks to be clear and see if the M5 will fully seat in the puck system. Then if the mat is too thick you can make your cutouts bigger for the full...
