Video Transcript for Topline Truck Bed Mounted Expandable Bike Rack Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Topline Truck Bed Mountain Bike Racks. Available as a single or all the way up to a four-bike capacity rack. The part number we're using today is UG2500. This is the two-bike version. At the end of our main arm, at our first bike, we have a fully-articulating hand, that allows us to connect into the seat post or also onto the top frame tube of our bike. It's rubber padded on the inside, it's going to give us the protection that we need for our bikes, we're not going to get any kind of scuffs or scratches. Each of our arms are going to be a full aluminum arm, it's going to keep it nice and lightweight, but also stay very corrosion resistant, that way it's going to look good for a long time. The rack is designed to clamp right onto the bed rail of our pickup truck.

Just right underneath there has an eye bolt here that helps to hold this in place but also gives us a great connection point for our 74-inch long security cable. As you can see it comes with the rack, can easily be fed through our two bikes here, come back and make a connection point, securing both our frames and our tires to our truck. Now this is the two-bike setup, so we're going to have our one main long-arm and then we have an addition arm here in the middle. Now this is a two-bike rack, as you can see it's holding two-bikes, another one of this would then turn it into a three-bike and then one more of those would turn it into a four-bike for us. Giving us a lot of room to expand our rack based on our needs. Now that we've gone over the features, let me show you how to get this installed, as you can see we've got the large eye bolt here, we just want to loosen that up, that's going to allow what they call our clamp to come out. We want this to be loosen up to slide underneath the bed rail of our pick-up. You can see it's got a nice angle back so it's going to get a good grip on just that lip area.

We'll bring it up around the underside of the bed there, as you can see that's going to slide in right there and butt in nicely right up against the edge. Now, we do have our rubber gasket, now our rubber gasket should be installed right up here in the corner, just pull the tape off the back, stick it right into position. That helps it get a good grab on our bed rails. Once we've got it in position here, where we want it on our rail, we'll tighten up one of our nuts just a little bit there, to give us a little bit of space, and then we'll tighten our eye bolt down. We'll feel that make a good connection. Tighten an eye bolt down and then we need to run our second nut right down against that one and tighten it down. Tighten that down just slightly to make it a good solid jam nut, right up on there, it's holding in place great.

We're now going to grab our longer curved piece, slide that right into position here, andt hen we can tighten down that rack T handle slightly just to hold it in place for now. Then we can load up our bike, we'll undo the black, large black wing nut here, or knob, allow that to tilt down the way, and that will allow us to open up our clamp. We have our bike here in the bed of the truck, we're just going to bring it and fit this right around the seat post, what's great about this rack is whether you're securing it to the top frame to there or the seat post, it doesn't matter. You've got your options, the clamp is designed to fit a bar that's up to an inch and a half in diameter, so you want to keep that in mind, a lot of times, this tube is going to be a little bit wider than that so the seat post is going to be here in your top option there. Now we'll just tighten down the large nut here. Until that gets good firm hold on our bike. We're also going to take this opportunity to secure our front tire, this should be in the forward position, where just our rear tire, so we've got the weight sitting directly down. The strap will come up through the metal.

Back down or outside there. Let's give that a tug to secure it. Hold everything nice and steady as we're heading down the road. Now for loading of the second bike, we're bringing our add-on, open the clamp just like we did on the first one, put it around and then tighten it down around the seat too. While we're doing that, we can be loosening our other clamp up on the other end of our extension. With that nice and secure, let's grab our other bike. Now we'll just bring our clamp around our seat tube here on the second bike. Then just tighten it down after we slide that t-bolt back into the slot. Right, again just like the first bike we're going to secure it. Let's bringing our strap around the front tire, around the frame of the bike, and then around on the tag end through the end of the strap. Tighten that down. We've got our bikes loaded up. Now let's go ahead and secure these. Now our bike rack does come with a cable lock. Easy to use, as you can see it's a self coiling style, so when it's not in use, it's nice and Compact. What we'll do is just stretch our cable out here. Going to go around the frames of our bike that you choose, you can go down through the rims. Those are usually pretty expensive on these bikes, so good to secure that and we'll just bring the ends together, clip them in and we're set and ready to head down the road. Good shape, as you can see. Nice and solid. The bikes aren't going to be going anywhere. Let's go out and see how it fairs as we go through our test course. We'll start by doing this slow, this is going to show you the side to side movement of the rack, just like if we we're changing lanes or maybe doing some evasive maneuvers. Once we make our way around the corner, we'll get into a series of alternating speed bumps, this is going to show us really good twisting and torquing action. We'll now get into the solid speed bumps. This is going to simulate a big bump in the road or maybe entering and exiting a parking garage, a parking lot or maybe a driver way. That'll complete today's look at the Topline Truck Bed Mounted Two-bike rack. Part number UG2500, also available on a one-bike, three-bike and a four-bike. .

I finally have a nice sunny & half way warm day to try the UG2500 out. I have the 2009 GMC Canyon 4 door 5 foot short bed version with a tool box in the bed so space is shortened almost an extra 1 1/2 feet & as you will see in the pictures, very limited for my 26 inch polaris sportsman 21 speed bike that i converted into an electric bicycle. I had to mount my UG2500 bicycle holder closer to the rear of the truck but with 2 extra safety straps, one wrapped around the bike seat post & anchored to the rear loops in the rear of the truck bed & another strap looped around the front forks and anchored to the post in the front of the bed, the bike doesn't go anywhere. The UNI GRIP bed rail clamps tighten to the bed rail & the pivot arm bike clamp fits around my upper tube of this particular bike well. Once you have everything in place , this system holds the bike straight & level. As of this time, i believe it will serve my purpose when i take long or short trips.I should also let it be known that i took the plastic bed liner out & replaced it with a roll in bed liner plus spray in bed liner and got rid of the plastic junk. I believe that most folks with longer bed trucks shouldn't have any problem with this product as they would be able to close their tailgate for added security as far as the bike rolling out of their truck. I ordered my UG2500 on Jan.10 2013 at 3:13 p.m. in the afternoon. At 3:21 pm, eight minutes later, i received an email from George that their warehouse facility had this product in stock & it would ship out in 24 - 48 hours. At 3:46pm same date some 33 minutes later, I received an email from nathan that my order was shipped out & on the way. 3 days later it's sitting on my doorstep. Now, i can only say that is true service & fast at that along with keeping me informed of what is going on. Thanks folks for your service. 63591

The product works very well for transporting bikes securely in the pickup truck bed. I have a standard Ford Ranger and installation was a breeze. You've got to determine where on the bike to attach the clamp. The clamps were designed for bikes with smaller frame tubes than I have on my bikes; it would be nice if they were a bit larger, and you've got to make sure the attachment doesn't damage the control lines for gears and brakes. I was able to successfully attach two bikes securely. While some trucks may have space for four bikes, I think the max I could get in my Ranger would probably be three; but that's OK, I'll never need more than that. The quality of the materials is very good and should last for a long time. I have attached pictures showing a one-bike and two-bike setup. As other reviewers have said, the printed instructions leave something to be desired, but once you see the components it is pretty obvious what to do. All in all, I am very satisfied. 93938

I have used it many times this year. I usually use it with one bike, but occasionally my father-in-law and I go biking and it easily transports both bikes well. I do wish the clamps were a bit larger, but I have learned where to attach them so they work OK. It holds both bikes very securely, I have never had a case where a bike came loose. It is very quick to setup and put away I store the components in a satchel behind my seat in the truck when not in use.So after a year, I am still very satisfied.

Item arrived in perfect condition, and only 1 day later than scheduled, but that was because of a train derailment, so there's not much you can do about that. Not to mention, my shipping was upgraded for no extra charge, so it actually still arrived earlier than I thought it would. That was awesome. The bike rack itself is pretty simple to install. The hardest part was figuring out exactly where on my bed rail to mount it. I drive a 2008 Toyota Tundra with a "Duraliner" under rail bedliner, and the rack mounts with no problem. I would rate it "excellent" except that the instructions that come with the rack are too hard to read. It's not that they are complicated, it's the fact that they are copies that are many generations old, so the print is nearly illegible and the illustrations don't help much. Still, it didn't take long to figure out how the whole system works. The one other thing that keeps this from getting an "excellent" rating is the fact that the clamps don't fit larger sized frame tubes, as several other reviewers have mentioned. The simple fix is to attach the clamps to the seat post, which works perfectly well. An "excellent" product would fit any size frame tube out there. I took my truck for a drive around the neighborhood after I installed the rack and secured my bike in it. Everything held great and seemed very sturdy. I would definitely recommend this rack, especially considering the great price compared to other racks. 107511

Installed the rack on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab with a plastic liner on the bed. I haven't tried driving around with it yet. It looks pretty sturdy. The only thing I'm worried about is that the back tire would look like that it will be jumping around if you hit a bump or something. Also, I think the bolt attachments should be a little longer. My Gary Fisher's frame were kinda wide for it. I had to unscrew it all the way so I can place the bolt in the slot. 89224

After a year. The bike rack really works well!! Great customer service by etrailer!!! The bolts to attach the bikes got stripped from normal use. I called etrailer and they got a hold of Topline and sent me another bolt. Now the bolt stripped again. Thats my only complain about this product. The bolts kept getting stripped!! Im screwing it normally and not forcing or doing anything different.from how you would normally screw in a bolt.I do use a strap on the front of the bike for more support. Etrailer. Great Customer Service!!!

After some trial and error deciding just where to best put the clamps it worked out perfect. The bikes are secured tight without any movement at all. And, now that I know where to put everything it will be a lot easier next time. Well worth the price! 466480

The Bed Bike Rack works great, I ordered 2 and I can mount 4 bikes in my truck and it holds them in nice and tight. My order came fast right to my front door with no problems - Great product. Thanks 92264

Did you connect the clamp to the side track? I used my topline with my F250 and Tundra but it wont mount to my 2012 Tacoma with the plastic bed and side track. I emailed Topline 4 times to see if they offer a track attachment and they havent returned my email so now I wonder if they are still in business.

Here is how I made it work- I did a slight modification to make it work better and stronger. I used the side track that comes on the 2005-2012 Tacoma. you have to parts to the mount the little part that has threads I put in the rail with the eyebolt up, the part that holds the pipe that gos to the bike has a little lip on it I took a grinder and cut it off , I did this because it made it a lot more sturdy, I put a small piece of rubber on the bottom it came with the Bike mount kit , now you have a flat edge for the top of your bed, I did buy longer eyebolts just so I had more threads to, but you dont need to. I did not cut the bed liner or make any holes in it I made two one for each Bike.

I'm so pleased with this elegantly designed rack. It is simple to use and sturdy. As another reviewer commented, the added bonus is that it can be easily stored in a nylon bag behind the seat of my truck so I always have it and it is not going to be stolen. I didn't realize about the 'bridge' from one bike to another. I thought it had two identical arms that would attach to each rail of my truck. I am equally or more pleased with the actual design. I just didn't read the description carefully. My only small complaint might be that the directions were hard to read since they had been photocopied a number of times or were printed on a bad printer. The rack is self explanatory however so it didn't really matter. 83944

I love it. I have it and my bike in the truck now. It is the most elegant solution to a bike rack that I have seen.

It's a very good and sturdy product...now our bikes are not just dumped on my truck, it now stands perfectly. It was easy to install and the product has a good grade material...would buy another add on assembly in the near future. The product was also shipped fast...ordered on Monday afternoon and delivered on Thursday, we used it right away on Saturday. I would recommend this to my relatives and buddies at work who has a truck. My 7 yr old daughter was impressed when it was installed on the truck. The instructional video on the website was also very helpful in setting up the product. 89645

I am still using this bike holder and really helps me transport my bike. It does not damage the truck nor the bike, it really holds the bike in place.

Great product. Was simple to install/adjust. Holds bike in place with very strong support. I've not hooked up a 2nd bike yet, it should be a breeze. I did a minor modification to the bed bracket to get it to work on my Toyota with a factory bed-rail system. One cut to remove excess metal from bed bracket and 2 holes drilled to install bed rail mounting hardware (located hardware on internet). 412129

I love the two bike carrier! I have a large tool box in the bed of my truck, so the front tires are turned to the side. I strapped both front tires together and the bikes never moved. 230 mile trip and "zero" problems or concerns! Having $5000 in two bikes, i tripled locked them together and to the truck! Which took longer than it did to set up both bikes. 96069

Great Product! Just got back from using it over the weekend, no slipping or any movement at all. Once you figure the best alignment of the bikes and where the bars go, then all you have to do is.......do it again and a again! I use 4 different locks to lock it in my truck. A thief would take along time to get the bikes!

This product works well for what it’s designed to do, keep your bike secured. However the product was not designed for modern bikes or 29er's. The manufacture needs to redesign the clamping system to be more flexible with modern bike tubes; also they need to extend the pole to reach a 29er seat post. With that said and with a little creativity I was able to make the system work by attaching the pole to the rear triangle of the bike frame. See my bike pics on how to make it work for a 29er. Once I figured this out the securing system work well. 74709

2 products....Anderson camper wheel chock / levellers for my trailer, and Topline 2 bike carrier for my truck bed. Both products are superb.....the camper leveller is so easy and quick to use, it can be easily done by one person....Arrive at your site...place the leveller...drive forward, check the level....place the chocks...that easy...great product. Topline 2 bike carrier.....again, very easily get your bike/s locked in standing, so no issues with being scratched or damaged....total confidence once the bikes were on to go on down any road...the bikes barely moved....great product. The price on both of these items, the delivery and service from Etrailer is hard to beat.....Always give a look at what products they have on offer, very competitive and quick delivery. I first bought tire chains, needed a quick delivery, and got a little concerned that I was not going to have them on time, so I contacted Etrailer for an ETA.....they upgraded my shipment at no extra charge....the chains arrived well before my trip.. That was the clincher for me.....Service, price, follow up...don't need more... 379484

The bike rack is great - it was very easy to install and holds the bikes securely. I was a little concerned about whether it would work as our situation is a little different - we have a camper shell on our truck and our bikes are the "folding" ones that a lot of RVers use. But no worries - it worked great. As far as the service from etrailers - they were great to work with!! They upgraded the shipping at no additional cost to me - I received my order just a few days after I placed it. 59622

I recently installed the Topeline 2 Bike Carrier Truck Bed Mounted Expandable Bike Rack in my 2011 Ford Ranger. It installs nice and neat, using very little space. It does need a ratchet strap to aid in keeping the bikes upright. The clamps are good but I think it would be helpful if they were bigger to accommodate larger tubes. I was able to find just the right spot in my bed to place the mounting clamp so I could reach a tube that fit the clamp. The add-a-bike works well. The cap that comes with the rack fits perfectly in the hole I cut in my truck bed when the rack is not in use. All-in-all a good product. 460575

The idea and simplistity it great. However todays MTB bikes being made with thicker tubing and off the wall designs, the clamps that come with it is not big enough to fit my trek fuel on the top or bottom tube. The seat post would work but the rack arm is not long enough. I was able to find a spot above the crank. Once I found that the rack worked out great. It's real solid and I will drive with confidence knowing my bike is snug and secure. Also the 2nd bike arm is not long enough because the handle bars even if I reverse one bike, I can't find a good spot. What would help is a long arm and with bigger clamps that swivel. My suggestion is to buy 2 single racks instead of that extra 2nd arm.... But over all it's easy to use, but with a fat tube bike, might be tricky. 165440

Finally used the bike rack for the first time last night. Worked like a champ, holding the bike rock steady for the entire 70 mile trip. It was super easy to setup and clamp the bike in place. My only nit to pick is the wheel straps...it needs a better buckle system that will maintain the tension. As we bounced down the less than stellar pavement, the strap would loosen, allowing a slight amount of wheel movement. Not enough to really reduce the stability of the bike as the mounting arm stayed rock solid and the bike never moved an inch. I have not tried it with 2 bikes yet so I cannot comment on the stability with the added weight/leverage. Great product and etrailer.com was FANTASTIC! I will be continue to make purchases from them. 148007

Great gadget. This installs in a Silverado in 10 minutes or less. Holds the bikes in place well on smooth roads. I doubl that it will secure a bike (s) on a rough road without first anchoring the wheels somehow. The service at eTrailer is five star. They shipped the product likety-split, no waiting at all. Yes, I recommend this buisness and product. 29573

After looking at dozens of different bicycle rack systems for pickup trucks, I chose the UG2500. The system is well made, simple to install, and best of all, it works exactly as advertised. Bicycles remain vertical, stable, and don't require removal of the front wheel for transport. I would recommend this product to friends and family. 223734

other comments nailed this product - it is a great bike rack, but the instructions are terrible. We paid extra for 3 day shipping, because we were at a deadline - feel the extra cost will be well worth the security and the ease of hauling our bikes. Well worth the investment. 87200

I purchased this product in order to transport 2 road bikes from Memphis to New Orleans this past weekend. The install took us about an hour, but we are not handy people, so it would likely take most people less time. We installed it on a 1500 Dodge Ram Pick up with bed liner. The bed liner did not interfere with the install. The bikes are average "old school" road bikes, if you will, - not fancy cycling race bikes, so no issue with the connectors. The bike rack did fantastic on our 6 hour road trip. No problems whatsoever. The bikes stayed in place the entire time. Easy to get them in and out. I highly recommend this product. Oh..shipping was awesome! I received it two days sooner than I expected. 125844

This bike rack works great and was easy to install. I have only used it once so far but it held the bike securely. Great product and offers an easy way to transport your bike or bikes without having to remove the front wheel. I did have one issue with the installation instructions being out of date. The mounting bracket came with a spacer which the instructions stated was needed to install the bracket on 98 to present Dodge or Ram trucks. When I attempted to use the spacer on my 2014 Ram 3500 the bracket would not properly clamp down on the bed rail. I removed the spacer and the bracket installed and clamped down without a problem. 307625

I bought two bike racks (UG2500), one for my 2012 Ram 1500 and one for my girlfriend's 2003 Dodge Dakota. Installed in less then 10 minutes. Everything went together so easy. Was so easy especially since my girlfriend is a small woman. The shipping was very fast (less then 4 days.) Rack works and looks great. Now we are ready for a great year of riding and know that our bikes are safe and secure. Thank you. 181988

I'm using this product with on a 2008 Ford Ranger with one Specialized and one Yeti mountain bike. Both bikes are carbon frames which makes it difficult to mount because of the bike frame cross section (not round, not elliptical, varying sizes etc). It took me a while to get both bikes connected due to finding areas on the bike that the cross tube would fit on. Other difficulties included the fact that the Specialized is a 29'er and I had to turn the front tire into the bed sidewall to get the tailgate up. Once I got both bikes in and connected they were pretty stable. I took them out on some nearby rough dirt roads and didn't hear any bike to bike clanging and banging. When I got home they were still pretty stable, so all in all I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this product. 345848

I recently tried out the Topline two bike carrier, and it worked flawlessly. I am really impressed. My friend, who is an avid cyclist, was also impressed with the design. When we tried to connect his road bike to my comfort bike using the extension bar, we had trouble finding two points of connection that were compatible for each bike. It would have been easier if the clamps formed articulated connections to the extension bar. This is not a problem for me since my wife and I have identical bikes. If Topline would offer an articulated extension bar, I would not hesitate to buy it. That does not mean the extension bar won't work. It just might take some ingenuity to connect two different style bikes. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. 236612

I found this rack to accommodate my needs. I am single and this is perfect and easy to use and little effort to attach the clamp to the seat bar. I didn't need a hitch carrier or a bulky rack in the back of the bed. The Topline 2 Bike carrier was perfect solution. I used this product on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. I am really impressed. When I took it out of the box, I said this looks really cheap. But once it was assembled on the truck and I actually used it, It went beyond my expectations. It was very easy to install and it held the bikes perfectly. As in the other reviews I couldn't use the crossbar, but used it on the seat post on both bikes. The first time putting them on the rack took a few minutes to get everything adjusted and experimenting with where to put the side bracket on the truck. But now it goes on and off in just minutes. It held them tight and in place on the long drive with no problems what's so ever. I highly recommend this rack. I've had the strap on kind but this is so much more secure. 364890

It arrived 3 days after ordering. My shipping was up graded without cost. It was exactly as advertised. Installed in minutes. Only a minute or two to secure a bike. I use mine for short trips only. Unsure how well it would work for long over the road trips. Might do fine but would regularly check the bolsts for tightness. 100% satisfied here. 20640

I purchased this product last July and I am very pleased with it. And the customer service is great. Mine was backordered and they kept me informed by email of the backorder status until it was shipped. I noticed that the clamps could be a little larger or the bolts longer to fit arount my bike frame easier, but it does work and it holds the bike tight. Im happy.

Simple, effective and clean I didn't want a hitch mount bike rack that gets all rusted, is too big to store easily and is a pain in the butt, so I ordered this device. It works like a dream! I can disassemble it and put it inside my truck in seconds and it isn't dirty or rusty. It's super light and it actually gets more solid with more bikes attached. It also secures the bikes well with the integrated lock system. Very well thought out. You have to strap your front tire(s) though or your bike will want to turn and will put forces on the system that it wasn't meant to handle. I neglected this step once and broke a piece, but the manufacturer sent me a replacement no charge, and quickly. 436

I purchased the product for use in a 1999 Toyota Tacoma. After reading all your posted reviews I felt confident this would work with two new bikes both with large size tube frames. Put a Trek mens bike in, then a womens Specialized in using the second bike clamp and in 20 minutes the job was done! Took the truck for a fast bumpy ride and SUCCESS! Excellent product for the money! Well made and simple to set up and store behind the seat when done! 115441

We have 3 miles of "country" (read rough) roads and the reciever hitch mounted dourble bike carrier shook the bikes almost off the rack if not doubled tied down. We purchased this product with the hope that the rigid arms would hold the bikes in place. This works for us much much better. The only improvements I would suggest is an option for bigger claws ( our bikes have a larger than 1.5 inch tube) and a swivel mount on the jaws (such as that on the primary piece that mounts to the truck sidebed and bike) for the second bike. My bike is taller than my wifes so I have to raise her seat post in order to brace the 2nd bike to the first. 84657

This is a nice package - everything needed to hold two bikes up and to add a little security. I have a Frontier with just a regular plastic bed liner and this does work but only fits in two specific spots on each side of the bed. These two specific spots have a 3" cutout in the metal on the underside of the bedrail that just accommodates the clamp. Happens to work out just fine for my bikes. Otherwise, the clamp piece is too big and the lip won't fit over the top of the bed rail. I do with the lip of the clamp was a little wider but works fine. etrailer got the product here very quickly - great service. 66398

Good Morning e-Trailer people, I have installed my new bike rack in the back of my 2003 Toyota Tundra. The bikes ride nicely. The arm Was not long enough to to fit onto the bike seat post as it looks in the ads. Clamp did not attach to other places on the frame without worry of a scratch, poor clamp quality. Great idea for a bike rack, I can see how some kids bikes or small adult bikes might attach well, but not mine. Any 29, 27.5 or large frame 26 bikes will not work well with this rack. I ride a large bike, 6 ft guy, not huge at all. I would not recommend this product if you have any sense of concern for your bike, it just doesn't fit well and you have to modify things to make it work well. Sorry folks, pos. 337413

I'm getting old and like to be able to just put my bikes in the truck and go without dealing with storing wheels, etc. For the first bike this isn't a bad rack but be aware that the 2nd bike bar is way too short, I tried with both street bikes and mt bikes and I can't get 2 bikes to be straight. The outer bike needs to be slanting towards the first bike. Also be aware that you need to have enough space on the seat tube to put both brackets on the first bike, this can mean removing a bike bag if you have one. It will work but I'm not thrilled 314676

This was installation was easy and the product was very light weight. The downside to this product is the screw clamps take time to tighten down and depending on where you clamp can be hard to get to. Also if your bike does not enough have round areas that has enough room to clamp to in the right spots, it can make it difficult to connect bikes. Especially if the bikes are different sizes. If you are using it for same sizes bikes then this is a good product. If your bikes are different heights then I would look for a different product. 436192

Placed the order late on a Saturday evening, got confirmation from George that night. Either George has no life, or he is a friendly robot! Product arrived promptly, and I eventually tried it out this last weekend. The instructions were almost understandable although the photocopying was not great. Anyway, it all worked perfectly. Two bikes transported safe and sound for a lot less money than other solutions. The only slight negative is that the first bike could have been a lot closer to the side of the truck. 426531

I bought this after reading other positive reviews and I am glad I did. While I haven't had much chance to really use it yet, I installed it and took it for a test drive. It does what it is supposed to do, which is hold the bikes securely. It meets the criteria I had: (1) allows the bikes to be carried in the bed of a truck rather than on a hitch rack, (2) does not require removing the front wheel, (3) keeps the bikes stable and upright, (4) doesn't damage either the truck or the bike. 56383

This is a wonderful bike rack system which allows you to leave the wheels on the bike. It comes with everything you need including a cable lock. The instructions are limited so look at as many pictures online as possible. It only took me a few minutes to install, and I had to cut an over the top bedliner. Just make sure you spend some time with the bike in place before to make sure you cut in the right spot. I have been very happy with this product and it is well worth the price. 85394

The UG2500 shipped the same day and we received it in 4 days. Installed it w/ 2 bikes in less than 5 minutes. The bed rail protectors on my 1991 Silverado were not a problem. Brilliantly simple design. Eliminates the need for 3 or 4 tie-down straps. We will be using it to transport our bikes a short drive over the hill to the beach for a ride this weekend. Not made for beach cruisers The product was very easy to install. I first used it to carry my mountain bike and it did a good job of it. It is more secure that it seems. I tried to attach my wife's beach cruiser and I just could not get it to work. The attachments just do not open up enough for the fatter tubes of a beach cruiser. I would recommend this product to those with smaller tubed bikes. If you have a beach cruiser or a bike with fat tubes, I would look elsewhere. 1263

  • The Topline # UG2500 frame-mount truck bed bike rack is a perfect option for transporting bikes in a pickup bed without having to remove the bikes' front wheels as with fork-mount carriers like Hollywood Racks # HRT970 and Yakima # Y01117. Since one Topline cannot be configured for 5 bikes (up to 4 only) your idea of using two carriers, one for 3-bikes and one for 2-bikes, is absolutely the way to go. You will then want to order items # UG2500 and # UG2500-3. If for example two of...

  • How Secure and Sturdy is Truck Bed 3 Bike Carrier - Topline - Expandable, # UG2500-3
  • I went out to the warehouse to do a little testing on one of these racks. On the Truck Bed 3 Bike Carrier - Topline - Expandable, # UG2500-3, side to side movement will be limited as the arms are rigid. The clamps do allow for some up and down movement which will reduce the stress on the aluminum arms and so the bikes can move with the bed floor as you drive. The arms are sturdy and it would take a lot of torque, more than a person can produce without tools or machines, to bend or break...

  • How to Plug Up a Hole Cut in a Bed Liner to Install the Topline Truck Bed Bike Rack # UG2500
  • What you can do first is use a hole saw to drill the hole out of the bed liner. Using a hole saw will provide a nice round hole that will be easier to plug. Make sure the edges are smoothed down with some sand paper. Then you can get a grommet of some kind at a hardware store to plug up the hole when the bike rack is not in use.

  • Can Topline 2 Bike Carrier # UG2500 Carry Square Tube Frame Bikes
  • The clamps of the Topline 2 Bike Carrier # UG2500 are shaped in such a way that they are ideal for a round or oval tube, but they can be also used on a square tube as well. Or if you felt more comfortable you could attach them to the seat post like you mentioned. I attached a picture that shows that you can carry multiple bike heights with this rack as well.

  • Truck Bed Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2016 Nissan Frontier with a Utili-Track
  • I have a recommendation for you, but you are correct, the Topline Bike Carrier # UG2500 will not fit on your 2016 Nissan Frontier. However, the Thule Insta-Gater # TH501 will fit in your truck bed, and it is confirmed by Thule to fit your truck. This rack can only hold one bike, and if you wanted to bring another bike, you would have to get two Insta-Gaters for your needs. Like the Topline 2 Carrier, this bike rack does not require you to remove the wheel. This rack quickly installs...

  • 2017 Ram 1500 Utility Rails And Rambox Compatibility With Topline 2 Bike Carrier For Truck Bed
  • For your 2017 Ram 1500 with Rambox and Utility Rails, the Topline 2 Bike Carrier Truck Bed Mounted Expandable Bike Rack # UG2500 may fit. I reached out to the manufacturer and they said that they haven't tested it on your model but if the clamp can fit, it will work fine. The measurements of the clamp are 4 inches tall by 2-1/2 inches wide. I recommend measuring from just above the bed rail where the top of the clamp would be to your Utility Rails to see if you have the 4 inches to secure...

  • Will the UG2500 Truck Bed Bike Rack Work in a 1997 Nissan XE Standard Pick-Up Truck Bed
  • As long as the bed rail on your 1997 Nissan XE standard pick-up truck has a 90 degree lip turned down inside the bed of the truck with open space behind it, see photo, the Topline 2 Bike Truck Bed Rack, # UG2500, will work for you. We also have a video showing how this rack being installed in a truck for you to review, see link. If your 1997 Nissan XE pick-up has a tie down system attached to the bed rail sides, or it has double wall construction that does not have the lip needed to...

  • Truck Bed Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
  • I spoke with Topline and she informed me that if there is a bed liner in your 2003 Ford you will need to cut a hole in the bedliner to access the side rail to allow you to install this product. Check out the review video for this product I attached. If you cannot access your side rails then you will need to use a different truck bed bike rack. I would recommend you get a Thule Insta-Gater # TH501 as this rack only requires that you have a tail gate to install.

  • Truck Bed Bike Rack for a 2013 Ram 1500 with Tonneau Cover
  • The Topline truck bed bike rack # UG2500 is not likely to fit on a 2013 Ram 1500 with a tonneau cover because the clamps would not be able to fit around the rails for the cover. We do have numerous other options that you could use. The Thule Gate Mate # TH824 is one option. The front wheels of the bikes will rest over the tailgate. The truck is protected by the Gate Mate and the bikes will secure to it. I have linked a video showing the Gate Mate on a 2013 Ram for you. You could also...

  • Truck Bed Bike Rack Recommendation for a 1999 Chevrolet S10 Extended Cab Pickup
  • As long as the front wheel on your bike is connected to the front fork with a 9-mm quick mount skewer, you can bolt the Yakima BlockHead bike carrier, # Y01117, to any part of the truck bed that is sufficient to carry the bike, normally the truck bed rails. This carrier requires drilling and bolting the head to your truck bed. I would recommend the Thule Bed-Rider 2, # TH822XTR, fork mount rack, that can be easily installed and removed, and uses the same style of fork mount attachment....

  • Truck Bed Mount Bike Carrier Options for a 2013 Ford F-150
  • We have one truck bed bike carrier that holds the bike at the wheel and fits your 2013 Ford F-150. It is the Thule Insta-Gater, # TH501. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you. Another option is the Topline carrier # UG2500. One end attaches to the bed side and the first bike. Then there is a second piece to go between the bikes. I have linked a video review of this carrier as well. And for a third option and what I would probably use if I had a truck is a tailgate pad....

  • Do You Carry a Truck Bed Bike Mount That is Not Permanent and Does not Require Bike Wheel Removal
  • We do have a bike rack system that will fit your needs. Topline 2 Bike Bed Carrier, part # UG2500. It comes with the parts for 2 bikes, but you can omit the 2nd bike portion. It is not permanent, it simply clamps to the bed and then around the frame of the bike. We have a video reviewing the rack and showing a run-through of the installation that you may find helpful. I have added a link to it below. We also have the Thule Insta-Gater, part # TH501 that sits in the bed and is held...

  • Truck Bed Bike Carrier Compatible with a 2006 Nissan Frontier with In-Bed Cargo Rail System
  • The Topline Truck Bed Bike Rack you referenced, part # UG2500 will not work in 2005 and newer Nissan Frontiers that are equipped with the rack system in the bed, due to the fact that the rack system interferes with the attachment point on the bed rail for the mounting clamps. We have several other truck bed mounted bike rack alternatives, that fall into two basic categories. The skewer mount rack requires the removal of the front wheel. The bike then attaches to the rack using the front...

  • The clamps that attach to the bike frames on the Topline Truck Bed Bike Racks, part # UG2500 can attach to bike frames up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter. You will want to measure the diameter of the bike frames on your Giant Sedona bike and the Felt womens comfort bike to see if the clamps will fit your bikes. Another option I have is the Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed Single Bike rack, part # TH501. This is only a single bike rack, but you can put two of them side by side in your truck...
