This padded rack lets you carry 7 bikes on your truck bed tailgate. It's a great alternative to fork blocks, it doesn't require drilling into your truck bed, and you don't have to remove your bikes' front wheels.

Specs:
The Paramount padded tailgate bike rack is a quick and easy alternative to fork blocks. It saves you from having to remove the front wheels on your bikes and from drilling into your truck bed. And if you normally use a hitch rack, but will be using your hitch to tow, this rack lets you bring up to 7 bikes as well. Spacing blocks prevent bike-to-bike contact, hook-and-loop straps secure your bikes to the rack, and the center flap provides access to your tailgate handle.
There are 8 spacing blocks along the outer side of the rack. These blocks provide stabilization for your fork stanchions to prevent bike-to-bike contact. To set up your bikes, just stagger the front wheels over the tailgate hanging outside of the truck and place the fork stanchions between the blocks.
A series of sewn-on loops along the top of the rack provide anchor points for your bikes. Use the included hook-and-loop straps to secure your bikes to the tie-down points to prevent your bikes from shifting during transport. Additional straps (sold separately) are available if you lose one.
Easy Access to Tailgate Handle
The center flap lets you access your tailgate handle without having to remove the pad so you can lower your tailgate. The flap secures with a hook-and-loop fastener.
Mesh Pockets
There are 2 sewn-in mesh pockets that let you conveniently store your biking gear. They're great for storing helmets, gloves, and wet or sweaty clothes that you don't want inside your truck.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The rack is made of heavy-duty, ballistic tarpaulin. A high-density foam core protects your tailgate and your bikes from dents and dings. The fleece lining provides a soft, smooth surface that won't scratch or scuff your tailgate.
Simple Installation
To install the rack just slide it over your tailgate and use the 3 integrated tie-down straps wrap to secure it in place.

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're checking out the Swagman Paramount. It's gonna be a tailgate pad, and we're gonna be putting on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. Some things that set the paramount apart are going to be the blocks on the front so that's gonna help keep the forks of the bikes separated, and keep them from hitting each other when you're going down the road. So if you do fully load it with the bikes you want them close next to each other. This is gonna help separate, and keep that movement down.
Another nice thing that it does, it has mesh bags on the backside. A lot of the other tailgate pads do not have those so that's gonna be good for storage. Maybe you put your shoes, your helmet in there just to kind of air it out on your way back. The other nice thing is it can carry seven bikes. So that's why the blocks up front are so important its cause if you're gonna fully load this, you definitely don't want them hitting each other when you're going down the road.
On the outside's gonna have a vinyl coating so that's gonna protect it from the ailments. So if you do leave it out in the rain, not a big deal it's not gonna get to it. Underneath you can see it's got a softer material, and that's gonna help protect the paint on your tailgate. So don't to worry about it, scratching it up when you have it loaded with the bikes. There's a lot of padding in the tailgate pad itself, so I don't have to worry about the down tube pushing in, and damaging it, or even the tailgate underneath.
Another thing is you got the hook and loop straps here. Really easy to tighten down your bike to the pad. Now if you're worried about the hooking loop wearing out as it does sometimes I would look at the Yakima Gatekeeper. That's gonna have aluminum hooks they use instead. You can get those tight as well, and they're gonna hold up a little bit longer.
I will say with the hook and loop strap it is easy to get it tight to the down tube. However, tucking it down underneath there is a little difficult, and just a little time consuming, and not too bad, or anything. But even getting under here to unfasten it it's gonna be more on this side of things. You can rotate it a little bit. That way it's a little gonna be easier to pry this apart which is a good thing. As you can see that I am not getting it detached easily means it's gonna stay on that way around the road. But to get to that, we had it tucked under there, and pulled very tight. With it looser, you can bring it around there, gives you more room to operate that. Then you can lift up your bike. Up and out by the truck. Another nice thing is the flap up front. When you unclamp that, and you have the backup camera. If you don't have all the bikes loaded, if you just have two bikes on each side, you can use that while using the pad. The only thing you're gonna lose functionality with is the MultiPro tailgate, and you're not gonna be able to fold it down twice. You can just bring it down like a normal tailgate. No problems there. But you can't use the MultiPro function. The way it attaches to the tailgate, this is gonna be these three straps, one on each end, and one in the middle. You're gonna fit it up underneath the tailgate, and it comes through. Now there's not a whole lot of structure to the straps, so they kind of wanna fold in on themselves as your fit them up there, and our spray-in liner gets in the way just a little bit cause it'll come up and get there. So you gonna have to get right in there, and pull the straps. It's not too bad, but it can be a little time consuming. Once you run the strap up through the tailgate, you're gonna run through your buckle, and pull tight. Overall, I do like the Paramount. It is the thickest pad we have. Especially with these blocks in there. Now, the only thing I didn't really like about it was running the straps. It was difficult on this truck for sure. I like the Gatekeeper a little better because it was a reinforced straps. They're far easier to get up, and underneath the tailgate, and get that attached on there, and I like those aluminum hooks a little bit better, but this one works just fine too. I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helps..
Well made, but you need to do something about the 3 straps...and how you can push a wet noodle up through the gap. Gonna have to put a sting down, and attach it to each stap to pull them up.
Very happy with the product and the super fast shipping.
I've been using this for a couple of years now. I mainly use it when we go camping. It's been great for carrying the 4 bikes we have. The bikes never have shifted/moved while in transit. The tailgate pad is a little tricky to put on (I lay under the truck and fish the strap up to my son). I've installed the mat by myself but it's way easier with 2 people.
Really like this bike rack for my truck. Easy to put on. Handles the Mtb bikes well.
It has been great for 5 or 6 bikes, easy to put on. A little tight and depending on the type of bike it won't line up in the designated spot but I can still velcro the bikes to keep them secure. Would definitely recommend the Swagman. It can be put on with one person but 2 is easier, one in the bed and one threading it through. The same is true for loading/unloading bikes, one in the bed of the truck and one handing the bikes up. I have definitely done it by myself so we're loaded and ready to go camping when the boys get home from school.
