1961 Plymouth Belvedere - Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV - Efficient

  • Plate-Fin Cooler
  • Full-Size Truck
  • SUV
  • With 11/32 Inch Hose Barb Inlets
  • 11W x 12T x 7/8D Inch
  • Standard Mount
  • Derale

11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep, efficient heat exchanger will prolong the life of your transmission and improve its overall performance. Specifically designed for Plymouth Belvederes with late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions.

Features:

  • Prolongs life of transmission
  • Improves overall performance
  • Prevents heat-related failures
  • Has furnace-brazed aluminum construction and 3/4" wide turbulator plates for more efficient cooling
  • Includes complete mounting kit, OEM spec hose with stainless steel clamps and Insta-dapt radiator adapter
  • Recommended for full-size trucks and SUVs

Specs:

  • Inlets: 11/32" hose barb
  • Overall dimensions: 11" wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep
  • Distance between inlets: 10-1/4"
  • Mounting dimensions: 10-1/2" tall by either 5-1/4" or 6-3/4" wide
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder
The transmission cooler options we offer are all universal so they will work on your 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13504 which is a complete kit that has everything you need. It will do a great job of helping to keep transmission fluid temps down when towing to prolong the life of your transmission. In order to tow a trailer you'll also need a trailer hitch and for that I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part...

  • Best Transmission Cooler for a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 6.2L V8 Enigne
For a transmission cooler that will work well in your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L V8 engine, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13504. The Derale Series 8000 is going to install in front of the ac condenser and behind the grille. It is 11" wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep which is plenty for your transmission so long as you are on the open road and not in a lot of stop and go traffic. If you do find yourself in a bunch of stop and go...

  • Important Temperatures to Monitor When Towing and How to Lower the Temperatures If Needed
The key temperatures to monitor when towing are the transmission fluid, engine oil and coolant temperatures. Each of these fluids will have different ranges that you will want to stay within. For transmission fluid, the ideal operating temperature is between 160 and 200 degrees. If you find that you are running over 200 degrees, I would recommend installing a supplemental transmission cooler, like part # D13504, if you do not already have one. I also recommend using the Ford radiator...

  • Bypassing Factory Transmission Cooler on a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder
It is possible to install a transmission cooler and bypass the factory transmission cooler on your 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. This is not recommended by manufacturers, but it is possible. You will want to get the largest transmission cooler that will fit your vehicle. I do not know the area that you have available to install a transmission cooler, but if it will fit, I would recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13504. The overall dimensions for this cooler...

  • How to Mount a 7-Way Connector on a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder with the Curt Hitch # C13309
If you were to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13309 on your 2017 Nissan Pathfinder then you would need to mount the Curt T-Connector # C56357 directly to your rear bumper fascia using the mounting bracket # PK12711U. To avoid this you can use the Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58000 instead. Since the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76031 does sit below the rear bumper fascia you would be able to use the no-drill mounting bracket # C57202 along with the part # PK12711U. The Curt T-Connector...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe with the 5.3L V8 Engine
The best transmission cooler to use on your 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe will be the largest one you have space available for in front of your radiator/condenser behind your grill. Unfortunately, we have not test fit any transmissions coolers on your Tahoe yet but we have test fit the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13504 on a similar 2009 GMC Yukon and found this to be a good fit therefore will more than likely work for you as well. This cooler will do a great job...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2006 GMC Yukon XL Denali
You are wise to install supplementary transmission cooling for your 2006 GMC Yukon XL since transmission fluid temperatures of 250-degrees Fahrenheit will otherwise certainly shorten its lifespan. I suggest the Derale # D13504, a high-efficiency Class IV cooler, for your 6.0L. You will also need adapter fitting # D13035 to install it. A video is included to show you the process.

Hey Rob, we have confirmed with Derale that the transmission cooler part # D13504 does fit your 2015 GMC Yukon. You will also want the hose fitting adapter part # D13035 to make the install a bit easier as well. Will you be doing some towing?

  • Orientation for Mounting Transmission Cooler
Hey Hatish! The best way to mount a transmission cooler like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13504 is right side up or sideways. If the barbs are up or out to the side you're good. The other important thing to consider is mounting it in a location that will deliver the maximum airflow.

  • Recommended Transmission and Power Steering Cooler for 2007 Honda Pilot
I have not heard of that being done but it absolutely could work. What I would instead recommend is keeping your current transmission cooler and adding the Derale Electra-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler Assembly w/ Fan, -8 AN Inlets - 8 Pass # D15200 to use as an additional transmission cooler and a power steering cooler. This kit comes with the barb fittings to make the installation easy. You may also be interested in the Derale Single-Hose Transmission Cooler Installation...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2002 Chevy 2500HD Silverado with 4L80E
For the 4L80E transmission that is in your 2002 Chevy 2500HD Silverado we have supplemental transmission coolers that would work great in conjunction with the factory cooler or as a stand alone cooler if you are looking to bypass the factory cooler. The best option I could recommend for you would be a stacked plate style cooler like the part # D13403. This is the most efficient style of transmission cooler on the market that would work great for you. You would want to install the cooler...

  • Is 210 Degrees to Warm for 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 6.2 liter To Run
210 degrees is actually very normal for your 2012 GMC Sierra with a 6.2 liter. The engine is designed to run that warm so I wouldn't worry about it at all. Trying to keep it cooler than that will not give you any type of advantage.

  • Upgraded Transmission Cooler For GMC Yukon XL
The Derale Series 7000 Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13105 is the largest cooler that we have that will fit the 2013 GMC Yukon XL 6.0L V8 Engine. This cooler will make for an awesome upgrade because it has built-in turbulators that agitate fluid fora better efficient cooling. It measures 16-5/8" wide x 12-5/8" tall x 3/4" deep. The ideal location for a transmission cooler is where it can get the maximum airflow in from of the AC condenser. • Transmission Fluid Cooling Options for a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado with 6L80 Transmission
A transmission pan cooler has fins built in which allow air to move through them and cool the vehicle's transmission fluid. The depth of the pan will not necessarily affect its cooling efficiency. They can provide greater cooling for your transmission fluid however, if you find yourself sitting in traffic quite often then you would want to go with a standard mount transmission cooler. It's definitely not abnormal for your transmission fluid to heat up while towing, especially when you're going up hills that force the truck to work a lot harder. For your 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD I highly recommend the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan # D13960. • Installing Derale Transmission Cooler to Replace OEM Cooler on 2007 Nissan Frontier SE
The Derale transmission coolers we sell are designed more as a supplemental cooler that is meant to augment the factory transmission cooler portion of the radiator, not replace it entirely. If you are experiencing the common problem with the radiator leaking causing the engine coolant contaminating the transmission fluid, your best bet really would be to have the original radiator replaced. I did a Google search using the keywords Nissan Radiator Problem and found that Nissan has extended...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation For 2008 GMC Sierra w/ 6.0L Engine For Towing
We can get your 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD set up with a new auxiliary transmission cooler to get the lowest temperature possible when towing, and you're right that a smaller cooler won't provide the best temperature control. Because you cannot over-cool fluids, the rule of thumb with transmission coolers is that size matters so I recommend a large cooler from Derale, and you'll also need fittings: - Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13504 - Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter...

  • Engine Oil & Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2011 Dodge Durango
The two coolers could easily fit together. Main reason is that the oil cooler kit part # D15450 that you referenced can be remote mounted basically anywhere since it comes with it's own fan. The transmission cooler part # D13504 would then need to mount in front of the radiator and fit easily.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler For GMC Yukon XL Denali
On your GMC Yukon Denali XL, you can add a transmission cooler to your existing factory transmission cooler. I recommend Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV # D13504 which you were looking at due to its design. In order to reduce the transmission fluid temperatures in your 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500, I recommend using a transmission cooler like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13504. Generally speaking, the best transmission cooler for you will be the largest one you have space available for in front of your radiator/condenser behind the grill. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2007 GMC Yukon Denali
The transmission cooler part # D13504 would be exactly what you need. This is a large cooler that would work well for your 2007 GMC Yukon Denali. I attached an install video that shows it being installed in a very similar 2009 Yukon as yours. Your engine temperature doesn't really seem that bad at all. But the transmission cooler will help slightly with that since it will allow the factory transmission cooler to run cooler as well which is connected to the radiator. Also the transmission...

  • Can An Auxiliary Transmission Cooler Be Installed On a 2020 Ford F-150 with10R80 Transmission
It is possible to install an auxiliary transmission cooler on a 2020 Ford F-150 with 10R80 Transmission. That said, the factory transmission cooler isn't where it normally would be, in front of the radiator. It's under the actual transmission so if you could find a way to splice into the lines here and run them to the front then you could install one like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler part # D13504.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2010 Chevy Avalanche LTZ
Hey David, so the best option would be to utilize the current cooler you have now and then go with an additional one that installs down stream of it to get maximum cooling power. I would go with the part # D13504 that you referenced for that application and you'd be in a great spot. You'll also want to use the fitting adapter part # D13035 to make the install a little easier as well.
