2017 Jeep Patriot - Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets - Class I -Extra Efficient

  • Plate-Fin Cooler
  • Car
  • 11W x 3-7/8T x 1-1/4D Inch
  • With 1/2 Inch NPT
  • Derale
  • Standard Mount

11" Wide x 3-7/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep, radiator-style heat exchanger improves the performance and overall functioning of your Jeep Patriot's transmission. Includes hose-barb adapters to fit the 1/2" NPT inlets.

Features:

  • Prolongs life of transmission
  • Improves overall performance
  • Prevents heat-related failures
  • Has furnace-brazed aluminum construction and 1-1/4" wide turbulator plates for more efficient cooling
  • Includes complete mounting kit, OEM spec hose with stainless steel clamps, Insta-dapt radiator adapter and hose-barb fittings
  • Sleek design makes this ideal for use in compact cars

Specs:

  • Inlets: 1/2" NPT
  • Fittings: 1/2" NPT x 3/8" hose barb
  • Overall dimensions: 11" wide x 3-7/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep
  • Distance between inlets: 8-7/8"
  • Mounting dimensions: 6-3/4" wide x 3" tall
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

Product really works well drop trans temp on Silverado from 160 to 125 degrees F. Could not find additional 11/32" tubing so Used 3/8" trans hose for connection- worked fine. Also I mounted on side with inlet at bottom to maximize cooling.

This cooler is the largest that will fit a 02/09 Chevy Trail Blazer. Will take half a day and many specific extra parts to install to OEM quality. It cools

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler For A 2016 Honda Pilot
Hello Doug, thanks for reaching out. When selecting a transcooler, if you want the most effective cooling, you will want to get the largest cooler available for your vehicle. Basically more surface area means better cooling, and we do not always go by the class designation. Our best option for the 2016 Honda Pilot the Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit - Class II # D12906. This cooler is 13" Wide x 7-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep which is the largest we offer for your car. This comes...

  • Recommended Transmission and Power Steering Cooler for 2007 Honda Pilot
I have not heard of that being done but it absolutely could work. What I would instead recommend is keeping your current transmission cooler and adding the Derale Electra-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler Assembly w/ Fan, -8 AN Inlets - 8 Pass # D15200 to use as an additional transmission cooler and a power steering cooler. This kit comes with the barb fittings to make the installation easy. You may also be interested in the Derale Single-Hose Transmission Cooler Installation...

Yes, the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 and the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 will also fit your 2011 Ford Escape. If you already have a 4-Way then you won't need anything else, however if you don't have a 4-Way then you will need part # 118251 if you have the factory tow package or part # 118551 if you don't have the factory tow package. Attached is a sample installation video of the ETBC7 kit being installed on a 2011 Escape for you to reference. The brake controller being installed is the...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1997 Honda CRV with Best Cooling and Ease of Installation
I would recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13502, for your 1997 Honda CRV. This cooler will be more than adequate for towing the weights you will be towing. You can not cool transmission fluid too much so the larger the cooler is, the better. We have a video installation of this cooler on a 2006 Honda CR-V that will be very similar to the installation on your 1997 model, see link. If you would like a smaller cooler you could go with the Derale Series...

The best transmission cooler kit for your 2018 Ram 3500 Dually with the 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel engine is going to be the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets item # D13611. This plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously. I have linked...

  • Complete Towing Setup Including a Transmission Cooler for a 2012 Ford Escape AWD 3.0
I would be happy to help you set your 2012 Ford Escape up for towing. You're going to need a hitch, a couple of wiring harnesses, a brake controller and ball mount. Plus the requested transmission cooler. Since your Escape does not have the towing package you are going to need two separate wiring harnesses to have a connector like the Hopkins 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket item # HM40975. You will also need to hardwire in your brake controller since you do not...

  • What is Required for Towing a Trailer w/ a 2004 Honda Pilot
I looked up an online version of your 2004 Honda Pilot's owner's manual and it states that additional transmission and power steering coolers are required to tow. It also states that a trailer that weighs 1,000 pounds or more should have its own operating brakes. I've attached an article on coolers that you might like. The firs thing in choosing one is find a place to put it in your Pilot. The best place is always in front of the radiator so it will get as much air flow as possible....

  • Transmission Cooler Compatible With a 2023 Toyota Tacoma
I do see Toyota does offer a small transmission cooler like the Derale # D13611 from the factory on your 2023 Toyota Tacoma. It appears this is added if you have the factory towing package and automatic transmission. Their cooler is connected using hose clamps so it does not appear there is a way to attach a cooler using mechanical connections unless you switch the lines to some with AN fittings. Personally I recommend the larger Cooler # D13503 to help keep temperatures lower. These coolers...

On the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets - Class I -Extra Efficient # D13611, the fittings that come with the unit are 1/2" NPT x 3/8" hose barb. The other option for fittings are the Derale 1/2" NPT Male x 1/2" Barb Straight Hose Fitting - 2 Piece # D15712 along with the 1/2 inch inner diameter hose # D15700 and hose clamps # D13008. • Larger Transmission Cooler Recommendation to Replace Small One Where Fluid Still Gets Hot
The transmission cooler part # D13611 that you referenced is a pretty small cooler. Since you are towing on steeper grades a larger cooler would be your best option. If you can fit the part # D13503 instead of what you currently have this would be a much better option. This cooler measures 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. Basically the larger the cooler the more efficient it will be at cooling the fluid. Since you already have the hard part done of installing a cooler all you would...

I would suggest getting the Class IV just to get the most cooling for the purchase. They all install relatively the same so I've included an installation video to help you do it on your own!

  • Which Line Is Transmission Fluid Return Line on 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe
Typically the return line of the transmission is the one at the bottom of the cooler. You can do a small test to determine which line is the return line. First, start engine while engine is cold. Put the transmission in drive for no more than 10 seconds Stop engine Feel the both of the lines, and whichever one is cooler is the return line that is taking the fluid back to the transmission. • Transmission Cooler Recommendations for a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 5.7L
To determine what kind of transmission cooler you will need depends on how much weight you will be towing and where you will be towing. Also, you will want to check how much room you have in front of the radiator to be able to install the transmission cooler. If you will be towing a light load, less than 2000lbs, in flat driving conditions, your 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 5.7L will do fine with a class I rated cooler. If you will be towing more than a 2000lb load through some hills,...

  • Can a 2006 Buick Lucerne Tow an 800 Pound Trailer without a Transmission Cooler
According to the owner's manual for the 2006 Buick Lucerne it has a gross trailer weight capacity of 1,000 pounds maximum. It does not say that a transmission cooler is required. However, a transmission cooler is always a good idea, especially when towing, to keep the fluid cooler so the transmission is less likely to get damaged or wear out any faster than normal. If you do decide to install a cooler the most popular option for models with the 4.6 liter V8 is # D13503. And we also recommend...

  • Can Transmission Cooler be Installed on a Vehicle with Sealed Transmission
Sealed transmissions make installing a transmission cooler a bit more interesting since there isn't an easy way to add or check fluid. There may not be a dipstick on your transmission, but there is drain and fill plug.
