When towing your vehicle with a tow bar, all 4 wheels are in contact with the ground. Certain vehicles - namely, those with front-wheel-drive automatic transmissions - require either a transmission lube pump system or a driveshaft disconnect when being flat towed. Using a tow dolly eliminates the need for those by lifting your vehicle's front wheels off the road. In addition, using a dolly eliminates the need for base plates that clutter the front of your towed car, difficult-to-install wiring, and a potentially expensive supplemental braking system. Also, if you want to tow multiple vehicles, this dolly is a great alternative to traditional flat towing because you don't have to purchase and install brackets and wiring for all of your cars.
The folding design of the Kar Kaddy SS allows you to save space in your garage and at your campsite. The tilting ramps and swing-away tongue each stow compactly against the dolly for an overall folded length of just 67". This maximizes space around the tow dolly when it's stored and reduces tripping hazards.
The integrated hydraulic braking system features Demco's eZ-Latch surge coupler and disc brakes for safe stopping of your towed vehicle. When the eZ-Latch coupler latch is in the closed position, drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will snap into place. No need to pull the latch up to open the ball socket. The drop that's built into the coupler helps you match your tow vehicle height, and the included breakaway lever activates the tow dolly's brakes should it disconnect from your RV. All hydraulic lines and fittings come pre-installed with the hoses run through the frame.
Disc brakes provide more consistent stopping power and a shorter stopping distance than drum brakes for safer transport of your vehicle. When you apply the brakes in your motorhome, deceleration will occur and momentum will push the dolly toward the rear of your RV. This applies force to the surge coupler's master cylinder, which sends hydraulic fluid through the lines to engage the brakes. This design ensures that the dolly brakes proportionately to your motorhome, which helps to eliminate wear and tear on your RV's brakes. And, because the brakes don't require an electrical signal, an electric brake controller is not needed.
The wheeled jack lets you easily move the dolly toward your hitch for coupling and then conveniently swings up and locks into place alongside the trailer tongue for travel. Drop the jack back down and roll the dolly out of the way when you're done towing.
The main components of the Kar Kaddy SS come pre-assembled for fast setup. Putting the rest together should take you approximately 30 minutes. Use the included instructions and hardware to attach the main frame to the tongue assembly, then install the ramps, fenders, mud flaps, and wheels. Finally, connect the pre-routed wiring.
Prior to towing, bleed the hydraulic system to remove any air from the brake fluid reservoir. Brake fluid is not included.
The textured ramps allow for safe loading of your vehicle onto the integrated wheel platforms. Once your towed car is in place, drape 1 tie-down strap over each front tire. Secure the straps to the platforms, and then use the tie-down winches to easily tighten the straps around the wheels. Attach the included safety chains to your vehicle's frame and you're ready to set out.
Included tie-down straps fit most standard automotive tires. Straps for large (DM03528-93) or small (DM03528-81) tires are sold separately.
Hit the highway in the quality, well-engineered Kar Kaddy SS. The steerable axle allows the tow dolly to track directly behind your RV, preventing sliding and binding of the tires. The dolly's radial tires create less rolling resistance and heat buildup than bias ply tires, resulting in longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds. This makes radial tires ideal for highway use.
The full LED lighting package is DOT compliant for safe towing. Brake, tail, and turn signal lights, front fender marker lights, and license plate marker lights are included to increase visibility on the road.
The galvanized finish resists rust and chipping. And mud flaps and rustproof polyethylene fenders protect your vehicle from flying road debris.

Really well built dolly. Took awhile to attach the tongue to the dolly due to the wires and quick coupler’s positioning. Also had to drill out the holes for the 5/8 inch bolt to fit through the tongue and dolly.
Arrived on time. Driver was very friendly and eager to assist on removing purchase from trailer. Had use our tractor and chain to pull the shipping container to the lift gate as his equipment could not move the heavy container. Other than that delivery was successful and product was not damaged.
This trailer is the best option if you can’t flat tow your vehicle behind your RV. It’s got wheels that steer so there’s no need to make wider turns to compensate. It literally follows your motor home turning radius. No problem at all in gas stations or navigating tight turns. Plus when you get to your destination it folds up so you can maximize the space of your lot at campgrounds.
Another GREAT experience with eTrailer!!!! They either quickly deliver a high quality product for a reasonable price, or they correct any error whether theirs or their provider’s without hesitation. Great product! Only issues was connecting the brake line was harder than the video showed and attaching the main to the tongue assembly was slightly challenging. Needed a screw driver to move wires out of the way and a hammer to gently tap the bolt through the hole.
Overall great product with lots of cool features. Would buy again.

I tried to get this trailer from other suppliers to a horrible fail. etrailers was determined to get it delivered. I order it one year ago and finally was able to use it. I traveled from Boise to Vegas and it was easy to connect and tow my vehicle. The RV park I am at makes you store dollies in other locations unless you have one like this that folds. Highly recommended and glad for all the support from etrailers.

I still love the product, just wish there is a way to clean it better after going through snow removal products. Maybe a cleaning solution from E- trailer?

The safety cables are too stiff and I will be replacing them with chains and several times the lights have failed because the connector falls out inside the fenders.
We purchased a Kar Kaddy SS with spare tire and mount for 5 thousand $ plus.
The huge heavy wooden crate received was damaged and so noted to transport driver. After opening the lose top we found no bolts/hardware nor directions for assembly. Contacted etrailer customer service which send us a link for assembly direction no bolts/hardware. Customer service gave me the run around, all I needed was the required bolts/hardware for assembly. Totally frustrated I contacted Demco directly. They sent me all required for assembly within 2 days. Demco customer service was Great! The Kar Kaddy is well constructed and fits our needs. But etrailer customer service leaves much to be desired. They definitely need to do more customer service training. As a small business owner, I would not tolerate the way I was handle. Giving the Demco Kar Kaddy SS a 5-star review but etrailer customer service 1
Very happy with this dolly. Might just be the best one on the market. Easy to hook up and handle. Well worth the money. I must say Adam was a great person to deal with ,he was more than helpful. He answered all my questions and gave me information on what to check out before I purchased this dolly. Just did a 300 mile dry run with car on dolly and all went well. Only took about 15 minutes to hook up and secure car.I am going on a 12,000 mile trip to Alaska with this dolly.
Arrived with no damage and the Demco Kar Kaddy SS is built very well but haven't used it yet.
So far I'm very happy with it and hoping it tows great. We will see.

Package was heavy and had to improvise handling since I was all alone to assemble, but was able. As I recall, I had a little difficulty getting the hydraulic brake connection together, but was able there also. Materials all good quality. Dolly is HEAVY and difficult to move on anything but firm pavement. Foldable tongue is of limited value, unless you are really tight for space. Don't forget to remove the locking pin for the axle when you tow your vehicle, since you want the wheels to track properly behind your vehicle, and also to use it when you tow empty.
Well constructed , it arrives in a large box so be prepared . once un packaged you need to put it together . Not difficult if you are the type to work on things like this . Tip they deliver curb side so you need to un pack and turn the unit sideways on the pallet then put the tires on while jacked up on the pallets this allows you to roll it to where you need it to finish the assembly in my case the garage 30 ft away .
Have put 10k miles on it. Has performed well. Ordered replacement winch from Demco and it was covered under warranty.
The car Kaddy is awesome. Very easy to load- only 10 minutes the first time. About the same time as a flat tow. Somewhat easy to put together between the video and the instructions. The only issue was the brake coupler is not that easy to get together.
We have used it three times now with good results. I like the steering axle. It really helps on tight turns. The assembly went well. I did it alone but a helper would be nice.
Perfect match with the wheels and tires that came with the dolly. Would never travel without a spare.
The Kaddy preformed as advertised. The construction material and the wiring was of good quality. The instructions for the assembly were written professionally and provided photos and sketches where needed.
The brake bleeders are junk, one was cracked upon inspection, so I replaced them all. Other than that issue, it is an excellant product
The only reason I am giving this 3 stars.
Being life has come up over the past year, we haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, except for a test drive around the neighborhood

Well made sturdy product. Need two people to put it together with two jacks or a jack and blocking.
Dolly worked perfect towing a 2019 Colorado From Upstate New York to Tampa Florida.
Currently assembling dolly. Will performance review when done and used. The delivery was timely and driver very helpful as a team mate to get dolly in position in my work shop. My concern at this time is twofold:
- the fact that the unit has been sitting in storage for a long was somewhat understandable but the fact that the tires have a build date of about 2 and 1/2 years ago is very concerning. That computes that the tires are over 1/3 of their typical lifetime and this is for a brand new dolly. Hopefully e-trailer will explain
- packaging was horrid. Outer cardboard torn and crushed and wooden container broken with contents clearly visible. I did sign for acceptance of dolly stated condition to be determined. Driver checked that the packaging was NOT intact. A cursory inspection has not revealed any visible damage but this will evaluated upon assembly. Have not looked at plastic parts yet.
I have photos of the shipping container's remains if needed.

I used this trailer the one time currently, but I am sure soon it will be used again. I wish I could figure out how to clean it better after driving through the snow removal chemicals.
