Aluminum and steel alloy construction is durable and eco-friendly. Powder coat finish resists rust.The hitch arrived two days earlier than expected, which was great. All the parts were in the package and everything fit perfectly. I was lucky because the bolt holes for the 2012 Rav4 had tape over them from the factory, so they were very clean. Attached are a couple of pictures of how I was able to mount the hitch by myself by rigging my jack with a bungy cord. I am 77 years old and did this in about 45-55 minutes.
Excellent Hitch for 2010 Rav 4! Opted for this over the cheaper options solely for clearance reasons. I don't care about the hitch being hidden, but I read that clearance/scraping can be an issue since the car is on the lower side to the ground. Will also note that similarly to another review, etrailer sent the wrong bolts. So I had to get the M12-1.25 x 40mm bolts at Ace Hardwear which is no big deal. Car is also on the older side so I had to tap the threads, which was expected and easy to deal with. Overall I highly reccomend this hitch!

Jenny N - 09/09/2023Very happy with the receiver. It is hidden behind the bumper which is the look we desired. Your website could use a picture of the receiver installed to illustrate the claim that it is hidden behind the bumper. Lastly, the receiver took a little "muscle" to get the last bolt hole lined up. The holes to the rear of the car lined up as well as one of the holes toward the front of the car but the last hole toward the front was about 1/2" off. That difference necessitated that I pry against the fuel tank to align the last hole while inserting the bolt. It seemed there was a minor bend in the mounting arm of the one side. I was successful in installing the receiver but thought you should know that the alignment was a little off.
Simple install on 2011 RAV4 Limited. It's in the instructions, but if you don't read those, but do read reviews, if your RAV4.3 didn't come with a hitch, the bolt holes are covered by a sort of tape. You'll see the color disparity. Simply use a screw driver to open up the hole. The holes are already threaded, making this a simple install. A second set of hands does help, especially when you take out the plastic retainers supporting the bumper plastics to slide the hitch up. Note, even though the instructions say the hitch comes with M12x125 bolts, mine didn't. Mine came with M10x125, which required a run to the hardware store. Hence the 1 star deduction. My hitch also came with several minor scratches in the paint. Not a big deal, but QA/QC needs to tighten up their shot group.
It has been one year since I purchased this trailer hitch. I use it for my bike rack and love it. It was easy to install, and I have never had a problem with it. Great quality, great company!
It was easy to install and came with excellent instructions. It has been holding up well and has been put to good use. No complaints. Only snag was the mounting points on my car were rusted and I needed to clean them with a tap to install it. Something to be aware of.
