Today we're going to be talking about the Tekonsha 7 Pole Light Tester with current monitor and voltage meter. Part number is 6565. Our Tekonsha Tester is really a nice heavy duty piece of equipment. You can see here it's going to give us a read out for brake current and brake voltage. We also have the option of going from our trailer brakes down to our trailer battery charge. That's going to give us the voltage read out on how many volts we've got coming back.
You've got a left and right turn signal, one of our clearance lights, and also our back-up light signal. We can switch this from a double axle, or, what we would do, a single axle or double axle on this side, and then triple axle on this side. This is going to offer you a great way to plug directly into the back of your customer's vehicle, and test it out before you have to start solving problems that don't exist. This is going to give us an exact read out of exactly what we're getting from our brake controller, exactly what we're getting from our volt side, and making sure all the lights work. Something I really like about the tester, it comes with a 17 foot cable. You can see our 7 pole right here. That's going to go directly into the back of our truck.
Then, instead of us having to have a buddy back here checking out the meter, we can take it right up front with us. As you can see here, we've got our quick check set up. It's going to tell you exactly how to go through the process, but essentially once you've got it plugged in, you can see it says, "Trailer battery charge volt meter." We can switch that down. We'll see that our battery is in fact sending back 12 volts to that outlet, so we know we've got a hot outlet there. Once we switch that over to trailer brakes, we can operate the manual override. You'll see this is going to test for both the voltage and for the current.
The higher voltage we have, the more braking power that we're sending to our brakes in the back. As far as our current goes, that's going to show that it's cycling well. It's getting back to where it needs to be. Our voltage is our braking power, and our current's the flow of that power. Another nice thing, test out all of our lights while we're standing right here. Put on our clearance lights there.
I like the fact that it's got the back-up tester. That's something we don't get sometimes. The vehicle in reverse, you'll see there that's going to come on. It's going to indicate to us that we've got the back-up signal, also for a marine application or something like that. To keep it nice, Tekonsha's going to send along a storage bag for it. Then shove our cable on in. This is a good way to keep this stored, too. It's going to keep it from getting all dirty, greasy, and stuff like that. Also, you're not going to have to worry about 17 feet of cable laying out somewhere for someone to trip on. All right. That's really all there is to it. It could be a really nice, easy to use product that you can have sitting around the shop, and help you solve those problems that we often get with customer's wiring. As far as residential use, unless you have a lot of trucks and a lot of trailers, might not be practical. We've got some other great testers on our website that you can check out. That's going to complete our look at the Tekonsha 7 Pole Wiring Tester with current meter and voltage meter. Part number on it is 6565.
