Because the color/function of the new connector wires may not match the color/function of your vehicle wires, be sure to use a tester (sold separately) to determine the function of each wire on your vehicle's tail light wiring harness before installing this connector. Once you've determined the matching functions, use the included quick-splice connectors to connect the corresponding wires.

Wiring it in is so easy, only 4 wires,
Use blue butt splice connectors instead of the ones it comes with.
You can buy a small pack of ten for about 3 bucks, by doing this you will never have to worry about a loose connection.
The video tells you what color goes where.
I like to put a small price of electrical tape over every connector I do.
Looks more professional and the wires can never come apart.

Purchased this plus 18144 mounting bracket for new installation on my 2007 Lexus RX350. Lexus SUV was advertised as having "towing prep package", a $160 option, installed but it wasn't clear if that package included the proper wiring connection under the floor for this product. After digging down (per your excellent video for this vehicle), I found everything as hoped for. Installation was less than 45 minutes including cargo area disassembly and reassembly. Mounted the mounting bracket on plastic surface under the bumper - drilling was easy and mounting appears to be secure. Finished off installation with 30512 flat cover LED tester. All in all a very clean installation. BTW, used 12 inch plastic ties to dress wires under the car so that nothing droops done. My wife is pleased - which goes a long way to confirming the aesthetics of the installation. Thanks for the great videos and products.
Trailer wire received was as expected however there is one part that could be better. The 4 box type 3M wire connectors that come with it are not the right connectors for this application. When connecting the 4 wires the box connectors are all on top of each other and create a large "bunch". The etrailer "how to video" shows the use of butt connectors which is a much better application. The "how to" instructor acknowledges the 3M connectors that come with the wires but simply says he is going to use butt connectors. So, why not include butt connectors in the simple wire kit? Otherwise all is well and trailer lights work fine, thanks etrailer for your good service.

Perfect Video directions. My friends were amazed watching the video before I installed the wiring in my 2007 Lexus RX 350 AWD.

Just finished installing hitch and wiring on my Lexus rx350. Everything went in perfectly and the video was a great help on the trailer wiring. Even showed how to disassemble interior panels to reach loom

This was a quick and simple install on my 2000 GMC Jimmy. Purchase the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat with this and you have a very professional looking installation without having wires hanging under your vehicle.
The product is top notch. The how to videos make installation very easy. I had the hitch installed in a half hour, by myself. The wiring was easy because my rx350 Lexus already had a towing port at the rear of vehicle.
I ordered a more expensive harness initially. I then found that my Lexus was prewired for a harness and needed only this one. Only bummer was I had to pay $11 to ship the other one back and this one did not qualify for free shipping. So my mistake cost me an extra $15.
Used this part in assembling my trailer wiring with brake controller. Everything works well!
Got the wiring harness to make an extension to pull our trailer behind our camper with bikes and kayaks in. This worked great! I love etrailer!
Installed it this weekend. Easy as eating pie. You-tube video made it brainless. Product was fine. Connectors seemed solid. Length of cable is sufficient, but could be longer.

Everything works fine.
Good purchase. Easy install. Placed on a 22 voltage 4225. Our frame was d wider then this product, but it worked. We also welded for hood measure. Paid 800 to pay someone to dab in past, this was better.
