Replace your damaged 6-way round, trailer-end connector with this new one. Durable cable covering resists damage.

The plug was missing the set screw and collar that compresses on the cable to prevent strain on the connectors when removing the plug. You can see the set screw clearly in the product picture.

Thank you for letting us know! I have already sent your information to our customer service team and they will be reaching out to you.

I like this style of plug because it is molded and is important in keeping water out of the plug. It is conveint because it has the right colored wires. I have a water tight termination box with studs that it is wired into. Once I damaged the cable so I opened up the terminal box installed eyelet lugs on the spare pigtail, and installed it in a fiew minuets. I keep a spare on hand with lugs on it so if I have an accident I can quickly replace it. I also use these on some of my smaller tow behind equipment. that's why I like this size plug it isn't real bulky.

Product was much better than I expected. Top quality at a reasonable price and fast delivery too. I recommend etrailer to anybody looking for quality, helpful assistance, selection and availability of trailer parts and accessories.
Thanks etrailer!!

This is not a molded connector as advertised. It is a replacement 6way connector attached to 8ft of cable, and would cost less to build buying the parts separately! The Bargman #50-61-108 is a true molded connector if that's what you're looking for.

Built a new trailer to haul my bobcat mini track loader, all products purchased from Etrailer worked great, no problems

Perfect for updating trailer wiring.

This is a great deal. It will replace a double cable with a molded cable with all wires in one. I am also adding a connector box , which will make a much neater connection rather than splicing the wires. Thanks for all the help.

The range of products available at etrailer is great. I know I can find anything I need for trailers and towing on their site and at a competitive price. If the item I'm working on is complicated, they have YouTubes available showing how to install the product. I receive the items I order quickly and they are always complete. Their site makes it easy to tell what I need and what I'm getting.

Excellent customer service! Ordering the products on line was easy and the instruction videos and installation tips were very helpful. I received my order as promised and every thing I ordered was packaged and shipped professionally.

I will definitely return to etrailer for any future purchases. Also the quality of products was excellent and the price was a lot cheaper than anywhere else I shopped, even with shipping cost.

Hard to find 6 wire and this was an easy way to get the lenght I needed and the 6 wire connector already installed on one end.

I am happy with a product, looks very neat. Just got it in the mail and going to use it for my small self built rv trailer

Good quality connector. Thanks Tiffany for your help with my order.

We wired it straight to a trailer that was missing this part. Works great.

  • Troubleshooting Gooseneck Trailer that Brakes Lock Up when Wiring is Connected
Sounds like you have a 6-way connector since you said gooseneck hitch and that is the most common connector used with them. What is going on is that there is two different ways the 6-ways can be wired. Only difference is that the 12 volt accessory circuit and the brake output circuit are switched. So when you use the wrong wiring setup you end up with the brakes locking up all the time. So basically you just have to switch the two circuits and it'll work fine again.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring of Airstream 2017 Flying Cloud 27 FB No Turn Signal Brake Light
Sounds like the problem is further up the wiring towards the light assemblies. The most common problem is a bad ground for the light assembly so I'd check that first. A lot of times the assemblies ground through the mounting hardware so make sure the light is connected to a clean metal surface. I attached a help article on trailer wiring for more info on this as well.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes that Lock Up When Connected to Tow Vehicle
What's going on is that you have the 12 volt accessory circuit and the brake output circuit either shorting out or wired backwards for the trailer wiring connector. If you are using a 6-way connector the common cause for this problem is that there are two ways a 6-way can be wired and the only difference is that the brake output and 12 volt power circuits are swapped.

I went out to the warehouse and pulled a 6-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, # H20036, and used a couple of measuring tools designed to measure wiring sizes. All of the wires were 14 gauge. Yes, this will work as a replacement for the standard Hopkins 6 pin round. You will want to cut the wires at the back of the current 6-way connector on your trailer and wire in the Hopkins 6-Way Molded Connector, # H20036. • 7-Way Recommendation for Trailer to Install Reverse Light Circuit
Since you have a 7-way on your 2007 Toyota Tundra the best solution is going to be to replace the connector on your trailer with a matching 7-way like part # H20046 and then run the yellow wire of the 7-way to the reverse lights. Whenever possible we try to avoid adapters as they end up being just another component that can potentially cause a problem. The simpler the approach to wiring the better.

  • Does 12 Volt Wire on Trailer Side 7-Way have to Be Connected if Trailer Does Not Need 12 Volt Power
On a 7-Way trailer connector such as # H20046 the 12 volt wire would connect to any accessory that would need 12 volt power such as a trailer mounted battery or a jack in some cases. You usually do not see them on boat trailers. If you don't have anything on the trailer that needs 12 volt power you can just cap off that wire and stow it out of the way.

  • Will the Hopkins 6-Way Trailer Connector Work With the Hopkins Endurance 6-Way Socket
The Hopkins Trailer Connector, # H20036, will work with the Hopkins Endurance 6-Way Socket, # HM48420. One thing to keep in mind when using these two items is to make sure that you wire the Endurance socket so that it is compatible with the 6-way trailer connector. There are two different ways to wire a 6-way trailer connector and the main difference is the location of the brake control wire and the 12 volt power wire. I have attached a photo that shows how you should wire the Endurance...

  • Can I Power Lights On My Horse Trailer With a Small Battery Installed on Trailer
Yes, you would be able to install a battery on your horse trailer, and power the lights when the trailer is not connected to the truck. What you will want to do is run the power wire, typically the Black wire, on the trailer connector and connect it to the positive battery terminal. You will want to ground the battery to the trailer frame, and then run the power wires for the lights to the positive battery terminal. Each light assembly should be grounded to a clean metal surface. You...

  • How to Wire a 6-Pole Trailer Connector
I have attached a photo of the common functions for a 6-pole trailer connector for you. If you are looking to replace or add a connector to your vehicle/trailer then you can use part # H20036 for the male (trailer) end and part # HM48420 for the female (vehicle) end. If you will be using existing wires to attach to either of these connectors then it is always a good idea to test them for function using part # ALL640595 first.

  • Trailer Wiring Harness with Circuit Protection Recommendation for a 2001 Dodge Dakota
Splicing in a trailer wiring harness is a pretty common practice even though almost all vehicle manufacturers do not recommend doing so. This is because trailer lights will put an additional load on the tail light circuits that vehicle manufacturers usually do not account for. The more lights a trailer has, the larger the load on the tail light circuits. Standard lighting on a trailer usually consists of two tail lights, two brake lights, two turn signals and two side marker lights. Many...

  • Troubleshooting 6-Way to 7-Way Wiring on Horse Trailer
Based on the colors you have it sounds like your 6-way wiring is similar to the Hopkins 6-Way Connector with Jacketed Cable - Trailer End - 8' Long # H20036. In this instance the red wire is going to be your brake power. On a typical 7-way the blue wire would be the brake power/brake controller wire. Realistically since there is no wiring standard I would recommend tracing your wire back to the brakes or other functions to make sure you have the wires installed correctly on your 7-way...

I would recommend you get the Pollak 6-pole # PK11604 for your trailer connector. This trailer end connector accepts up to 12 gauge wires. You should not be trimming the 12 gauge wires to fit into a 14 gauge plug because the power draw will still be more than the plug is rated for and may limit the power or not work properly. It sounds to me like the previous owner did not wire his home made trailer connector properly.
