Specs:
This vehicle-end trailer connector gives you the functionality of a 7-way, but without any pins or blades to bend or break. It's designed to work with a matching EZ Connector plug (sold separately) to create a secure, watertight connection that lasts. Strong magnets in both the plug and socket keep the connection tight and secure, even when you're driving on rough terrain. Built-in O-rings create a seal to keep out water and debris. And spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts are long-lasting and easy to clean. These factors combine for a strong, durable connection that's easy to use and to maintain.
The EZ Connector system uses magnets inside the plug and socket to hold the connectors together. Simply insert the trailer-end plug (sold separately) into this vehicle-end socket and the internal magnets will snap them together, no latch needed. To disconnect, just pull the plug out by hand.
This is an improvement over typical trailer connectors, which rely on a plastic latch on the socket lid to hold the trailer plug in place. With any trailer connector it can be easy to forget to disconnect the wiring when you unhook your trailer. If you drive off without disconnecting a standard 7-way plug, the connector will get pulled out of the socket, likely tearing off the lid. Without a lid, the electrical terminals are exposed to damaging moisture and debris. But if you forget to remove the EZ Connector plug when unhooking your trailer, the plug will disconnect from the receptacle as you drive off. And because there's no latch on the socket's lid to get in the way, the lid will automatically close to cover the terminals.
The magnet inside of this trailer connector is made of neodymium, an extra-strong, rare-earth alloy. This high-quality magnet ensures a tight connection between the connectors that is stable enough to make it through intense bumps and road vibration.
The lid on this trailer connector has a silicon O-ring that creates a watertight seal over the socket when the lid is closed. The EZ Connector trailer-end plug (sold separately) has a double O-ring that will create a seal when it's inserted into the connector. This ensures that the terminals on this vehicle-end socket stay protected from moisture and debris at all times.
All of the EZ Connector systems have earned a perfect score on the SAE water submersion test. This means that the seal created on this connector, either with the lid or with the EZ Connector trailer-end plug, will stay watertight, even if the connector is completely submerged in water for extended periods of time.
This EZ Connector socket has spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts instead of pins or blades. Pins and blades can bend, corrode, and even break off, which can lead to a permanently damaged connection. With the EZ Connector system, there are no pins or blades to bend or break. Because there are no pins or blades, there are also no pin sockets on the trailer-end plug (sold separately) that can trap debris. And if any dirt or debris does collect on the terminals of either end of an EZ Connector setup, it can be quickly and easily wiped away. No more scraping pins to get grime off. The result of all of this is a quality, effective connection every time you plug in.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the EZ connector magnetic seven way vehicle end trailer connector. The seven way trailer connector installs at the back of the vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. It is compatible with four pin, five pin, and six pin EZ connector adapters. Adapters are sold separately. The unit uses powerful magnets to join with the magnet and an EZ connector trailer in plug to keep the connection secure. A trailer end plug is sold separately.Once connected, the plug stays tightly connected despite the bumps and vibrations common with towing.
So, I do have a trailer end plug just to show you how it connects. Pretty simple process. You need to open up the lid, place it in, rotate it until that pin here on top lines up with the groove. And then you can let the lid rest on top of the actual connector. Stays tightly connected, so it requires quite a bit of force to get it unplugged.
But again it's a very simple process and it uses powerful magnets to make the connection. Now this unit uses face to face electrical contact. So, there's no pins or blades to bend or break, which eliminates concerns about electrical arcing and abraded pins. The contacts are also very easy to clean when necessary. This is ideal for marine applications. There's a silicone O ring on the lid that creates a water tight seal when the lid is closed to keep out moisture and debris.
And also on the trailer end plug, there's silicone O rings once installed, again creates that nice water tight seal. The unit also uses marine grade wiring to resist water damage and it is a simple installation. Simply hard wires to the existing wiring on the vehicle. When doing your wiring connections, it's always best to connect the wires by function and not just to rely on color coding. Again when connecting your wires, be sure to test the function of your wires and then make your connection that way.But it does hard wire to the existing wiring. It features this spring loaded self closing lid that automatically covers the connector.
And this connector is designed to fit into factory socket mounting locations on most newer vehicles. There are adapter brackets, as well as the standard mounting bracket available and sold separately at etrailer.com.Comes with the hardware kit, so you're going to get your butt connectors, your heat shrink tubing. It's going to come with the hardware to get it installed into a bracket as well as detailed installation instructions. The product's made in the USA. Your wire lead length, these measure about four inches long ad they're completely sealed here at the back, so you don't have to worry about moisture or dirt getting in there and affecting the connection points. And the product's covered with a limited lifetime warranty. That's going to do it for today's look at the EZ connector magnetic seven way vehicle end trailer connector.

Trailer connector splices into your vehicle's existing wiring. Built-in magnet creates tight connection with an EZ Connector trailer-end plug (sold separately). O-ring makes a watertight seal. Face-to-face contacts mean no broken terminals.Product was great for just about a year and then failed. The magnetic pins on the truck somehow got pressed into the housing and would not make contact with the harness. This resulted in connection errors. I ended up removing the harness and replacing it with a traditional one.
We have been really happy with this system. We have six trucks with the magnetic trailer plugs installed. I will say having a cover helps tremendously with corrosion. I also think it helps prevent breaking of the Pegg that aligns the plug. I would say if you’re going to go to magnetic Trailer plugs definitely get this style with a cover over it. We kept our existing seven way plugs and flat plugs so that we could use either style if needed. The biggest advantage to the magnetic plugs is you don’t have to worry about the connections slipping out as you drive. And you also don’t have the issue with the seven ways where the tabs eventually become compressed and don’t make contact. They just work .
5 star looks like good quality and seems like it came as quick as it could. thx
