To calculate your winch's rolling load capacity - the amount of weight it can pull up an incline - you must multiply the line pull capacity by a factor determined by the degree of the incline.
The multiplication factors shown in the chart, right, include a 10-percent rolling friction factor.
Note: A 5-percent - or 3-degree - incline is a 1/2' rise over a 10' distance. Follow the chart to determine your winch's rolling load capacity.

Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at the Dutton Lainson hand winch with a nice elegant black powder coat and tough plate finish. It is a single speed winch rated at 1800 pounds. Now folks, this heavy duty single speed hand winch is designed for horizontal pulling applications. So maybe you wanna load a boat up onto a boat trailer and maneuver, bulky equipment, those things, it is designed to pull objects up to 1800 pounds and it is equipped with free turning spool option, meaning I can take this lever, pull it down, and then I can spin this any direction. Obviously the handle will be on there, but, and then when it's time to crank it again, the handle will be on and then simply crank it and it only goes the one way.
And like I said before, it's got a nice black powder coat finish. It is a matte black powder coat finish and it also has a zinc tough plate finish as well. So the hardware gonna resist corrosion and everything. They are also that zinc plated coating there, especially since you might be going, you know, with water, that kind of stuff if it's on a boat trailer. The handle here is 10 and 3/4 inches.
Overall, side to side, it's got a nice little handle here. As you can see, it's kind of an oval shape and it's got the finger kind of mold that's gonna make it nice and ergonomic to use. You've got the cable retention hardware that's included. You do not get an installation hardware. So these three slotted holes here on the bottom, those are slotted.
The way you can fit pretty much any application out there, you will need to get three, 3/8 inch bolts that are not included for installation. More than likely you're replacing this, so you probably already have some, but I recommend replacing those bolts as well. Possibly something maybe that's stainless steel. Again, if you're gonna be around water and those kind of things. Now the drum capacity can hold a 9/32 inch cable up to 58 feet long, or it can hold a 38 foot long strap.
You get a nice five year warranty from the manufacturer and it is made here in the US. Folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look at this Dutton Lainson hand winch. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
Good quality & good price
