Specs:
This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello, neighbor. Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Westlake ST235/85R16 radial tire with a 16-inch Bearcat aluminum wheel, eight on six and a half inch lug pattern, load rating G, and a gunmetal gray color. Folks, this is gonna be great for our RVs, campers, and trailers, and the aluminum wheel is durable, yet lightweight and rustproof. This nice, sleek Bearcat series eight-spoke design here in the gunmetal gray is gonna give a nice finish as well. It has a nice automotive clear coat finish on the front here.
The backside just doesn't have the automotive clear coat finish, but it has that same gunmetal gray powder coat on there. Now, it also support some nice wheel lug inserts. Those are steel. And what those are gonna do is they're gonna help keep the front, or I'm sorry, keep the wheel securely in place on the trailer's hub, and it's also gonna prevent those holes from wearing down. It will also eliminate the need for constant retightening of your lug nuts.
Now, the tire itself is a nice Westlake radial tire. It's constructed with double steel belts and double polyester plies for a long life. It's got nylon tread-firming belt overlays that help prevent tread separation, and it has tread wear indicators to make it easy to see your tread depth. Now, the radial ply tire is great for highway use. It is a ST, or Special Trailer, tire.
That means it has sturdy sidewalls, but it can also handle heavy loads. And it is specifically created for trailers and not intended therefore for use on other vehicles. Now, one nice thing with the Westlake brand is you're gonna get complementary roadside assistance for the first two years that you own the tire. That starts from the date of purchase, and that flat-tire service is available through the manufacturer, and it's available 24/7 anywhere in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Now, this combination also meets all DOT specification, the tire meets the FMVSS specs, and the wheel itself meets all SAE J1204 standards.
Your center cap is sold separate if you don't already have one. It's a 4.9-diameter pilot hole. And I'll throw up on the screen some information about the wheel bolts. Basically, you can use half inch by 20 or 9/16ths by 18 thread count. The bolt pattern is your eight lug, six on a half. The six and a half is diagonally straight across from two studs center to center, because this is an even wheel pattern. If you had non-bolt pattern, you'd measure it differently. This wheel has no offset. It has a section width of 9.3 inches and a overall diameter of 31.7 inches in diameter. It has a load range G tire, which means it's a 14-ply tire. The maximum load is 4,410 pounds at 110 PSI, the tread depth is 13/32ths of an inch, and the max speed is a speed rating L or 75 miles per hour. I do wanna remind everybody, make sure we're going those speed limits. The biggest things that break down tires is heat. You get a nice five-year warranty on the tire, one year on the wheel itself, and again, that two-year flat-tire service through the manufacturer. Folks, I'm Steven. This has been our look at the Westlake wheel and tire. Have a great day.
