Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Me and my family went on a 5000 mile round trip vacation. We encountered a lot of different road conditions without a problem and the tires are still currently being used on the camper. The only hitch I had was a very long lead time from the time of ordering the tire and the delivery. Seems like it was a couple months which was frustrating when I was trying to prepare for this trip. As you can see from the picture Montana mud aint no joke.

No problems, with only 2 tires on this camper i need all the confidence I can get. This tire does that for me

by:

Excellent service. Tire was ordered on Monday, received it Wednesday. WOW! That’s truly the way a business should operate.

by:

Excellent service and super fast delivery couldn't ask for any better business thanks

by:

great service, tire matches my existing - Thanks for the prompt delivery - nice to not have any hassles!

by:

So far so good. They have been on just a year and about 3000 miles. I had these same tires on as original equipment and changed them out at just under 5 years. the original tires had over 15,000 miles and the tread still looked great. I only changed them out because I hold pretty true to the 4 years of age change out rule. I probably could have ran the original set for 6 years with no problem. I am hoping I get similar performance out of this set.

by:

I needed a tire for my 2022 Cedar Creek 5th wheel fast. I always like to have a matching set. I went to etrailer, placed the order, and received my tire super fast. I was able to go camping as planned with my family. Thanks etrailer!!!

by:

I am a great fan of etrailer, but these tires are very poor. I am very diligent about tire pressures and lug nut torque and check both before every trip or after an overnight stop. Tires are inflated per the manufacturers specification. The trailer had these as OEM equipment, and this tire was a replacement for one of them. The trailer is 24' and was carrying my Mini track car. Speed was around 70mph as a maximum. We weighed it and it was certainly no where near the weight limit for the trailer or the tires. Despite all of that, three of these tires delaminated and exploded on my ATC trailer in the space of two trips over about 6 months. They were costly to replace and did significant damage to my wheel wells and steps, which added to the expense. I would not recommend buying these tires.

by:

etrailer is my go to for all my rv equipment needs. got my new tires to me fast and at a great price.!!!

by:

I appreciate the quick delivery. The tires I purchased appear to be new, and all produced within one week of one another. They are the same model I currently have on my Imagine travel trailer, and I expect they'll perform well for my next long RVing adventure.

by:

This tire is OEM for what comes on a Columbus 5th wheel. It is not the cheap Chinese bomb that many RVer's talk about although it is made in China. I ruined my tire on a curb (rookie mistake) and wanted to match the original OEM. My 5th wheel has been in service since 2017 and these tires are doing very well. Arrived two days after I placed my order. etrailer.com to the rescue! I ordered the wheel and tire at the same time and only etrailer.com had what I needed online. Thank you etrailer!!!

by:

I needed a matching spare tire/wheel for our new boat. Looked at etrailer, found EXACTLY what we needed at a price less than others.
Blown away by the professional service! Videos of each of my products?? Who does that?? etrailer did and sent me exactly what was shown and what I wanted.
Came shipped in sturdy boxes with no chance of damaged items in shipping. Arrived BEFORE promised date.
Again, Who takes the time and pride to go well above an average purchase? Then follows up with me twice to ensure we are happy with them and the items?
I know where to get my next needs and to get my family and friends to do the same.
Well done etrailer!!

by:

I can already tell by looking at these new load range G tires are much better than the E tires they’re replacing.

by:

This is the second tire I bought for my RV. The product
Arrived a day earlier. The sales person was very knowledgeable and helpful.
I highly recommend E-Trailer
For all your needs

by:

My last tires from etrailer lasted 3 years of daily use. Although I have yet to put many miles on these I expect excellent results. Lisa D. guided me through the selection process. This Westlake model is a better fit (205) than my previous tire (215) yet offeres the same 8-ply & D load rating. My local stores still think they don’t make radial trailer tires! I can’t recommend etrailer highly enough!

by:

Always the good choice of tires with etrailer. You cannot go wrong, they always have the best in stock.

by:

Very good tires, I bought 2 on the ground and 1 for the spare. No problem at all holds pressure.

by:

Holding up well, would definitely recomend and purchase again.

by:

When a nail punctured the sidewall of my trailer tire I found myself in need of a quick replacement. With no local business able to provide an exact replacement, a web search quickly yielded information about etrailer and their quality of service. After ordering, I had the tire in a very short time and I’m back on the road! Great support, and always kept informed that my order had been placed, shipped, and delivered. Can’t ask for much more than that.

by:

Heard about E-Trailer from JD with BigTruckBigRV (youtube).
Absolutely flawless execution of order, delivery, update information, tracking etc.

Could not be happier got them mounted to day and they are awesome.
Thank you.

by:

I have used these tires on a few of my trailers with no issues. Highly recommend

by:

Tire arrived in perfect condition. The year of the tire was made was the year purchased. Will purchase another set in two years since I replace every three years. Price was good.
Thanks you,

  • Recommendation to Replace 175/80-13 Tires on Trailer
A 4.80-12 tire is going to be quite a bit smaller than the 175/80-13 tires you currently have mounted on your trailer. They will also not fit the same wheel size as what you currently have. Your 175/80-13 tire has an overall diameter of 24.1 inches compared to a 20.5 inch diameter on a 4.80-12 tire. Your current tires fit onto 13 inch wheels while the 4.80-12 tire will only work on 12 inch wheels. The load that each size tire is built to carry also differs considerably. For your particular...

The Aluminum Viking Series Valhalla Trailer Wheel # AX02350545BMFL is a really solid choice for a trailer wheel that looks great but the tire size you have is a passenger vehicle tire and should not be used on a trailer. They aren't rated for the vertical weight trailers typically see and were designed to work with steering axles. So with this wheel you'd really need to go with a trailer tire that fits it like the # LHWL101 from Westlake which has a higher speed rating that most trailers,...

Radial tires are generally preferred over bias ply tires. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear. Best recommendation I can make would be the Lionshead tire part # LHWL101. This radial tire has a weight capacity of 1,360-lb max load at 50 psi, has a speed rating of 71...
