Lionshead Roadside Assistance Program

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

1-Year No Excuses Guarantee

This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.

Steel Lug Nut Inserts

Lionshead Aluminum Wheels with Steel Lug-Nut Inserts

This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I bought 4 of these wheel/tire assemblies about a year and a half ago, and they worked perfect on the 3 trips I took so far. I like to travel with 2 spares, and I want one of them to be new so if I do get a flat, I can continue my trip with confidence. So I bought another wheel/tire assembly. The load range D is also an extra confidence booster. I know I am very safe with these tires.

by:

The Tire and wheel came quick, and I am happy with the price I paid.

by:

Wheels and tires were easy to find. The video explaining the specs was helpful.
Easy to order and delivery was on time.

by:

The wheels are made in the USA, the tires in China. Most tires are. The silver powder coat on the wheels looks great. Powder coating is one of the best finishes for steel. I have powder coated lots of the parts on my off road car with good results, so that is why I chose wheels with this finish. I will be going on a trip this thanksgiving, and will follow up with another review after that first use of these wheels/tires.

I have made 3 trips to the desert this past year towing my enclosed trailer containing my off-road car. My combined rig is over 50 feet long and the peace of mind knowing I have all new tires is priceless. These wheels and tires performed flawlessly Thank you

by:

Purchased a new tire and wheel, tire was manufactured 16 months prior to sale. With todays timelines for replacement that makes that a used tire by my standards. Well at least I paid a new price!!

For all intents and purposes that is a young tire. It will be made, sit in a warehouse for a few months, be loaded onto a cargo ship and cross the ocean that will take a month or more, if it gets into port right away and unloaded it will make it to another warehouse and sit there until loaded and shipped via rail or truck to another warehouse to sit and wait to be bought or sent to a vendor then sold to you. All that said the warranty doesnt start until you buy it.

by:

Looks great, already hooked on as my replacement spare tire! Super fast shipping too, less than 1 week!

by:

During a long trip down a gravel road in New Mexico we had a flat on our travel trailer, and as I changed to the spare I knew we had an equally long distance to go, now with no spare. So when we got home I ordered another spare, and etrailer had the identical spare on my vehicle for a good price. Because we travel a lot on backroads, it won't be such a bad thing to have more than 1 flat now.

Having 2 spares in the regions we travel is a must. The extra spare is still in excellent condition, and hoping not to get used anytime soon. Preventative medicine is a good idea.

  • Will 14 Inch Wheels Fit On Axle With 5.30-12 Tires Currently?
Wheels fit based on bolt pattern as well as height and width. Your 5.30-12 wheels are 12 inches by 4 inches and upgrading to a 14 inch wheel will come with an increased width of 5.5 or 6 inches to go with the extra 2 inches of height. If you have room between your frame for this increased width (which is 1/2 of the difference) then it will work. You will also need to account for the additional clearance needed for suspension travel with larger wheels so you need fender clearance as well...

  • Replacement Wheel and Tire Recommendation for VBT-4700 Venture Trailer
What you mentioned is very standard for trailer wheels and tires. The size is very common and nearly all trailer wheels have a zero offset so we have quite a few options that would work well. My favorite option you have is the Westlake Wheel and Tire part # 274-000053. This is the size tire you need but it's a radial instead of a bias ply like what you currently have. That means it'll have a higher speed rating of 75 mph and will ride better due to the improved ply construction. This also...

  • Can Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tires Be Used On Boat Trailers
Yes, the Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # 274-000053 can be used on any type of trailer, including your boat trailer. The only thing you will need to do is make sure that you currently have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. Also, if you're replacing a smaller tire you have to make sure you have enough clearance. This has a section width of 8" and a 26.1" outer diameter. You want at least 3" of clearance on the top and 2" on the inside of the tire. If you are replacing a different 205/75-14...

  • Comparing LT Tires To ST Tires For Maximum Speed Rating And Handling
The ST tires will actually be a better option for a small utility trailer than LT tires. LT tires are for Light Truck applications and can be used on trailers, but they are not made specifically for trailers. They are made to have not as strong a sidewall because they are made to adapt for turning. ST trailer tires are made to have a very strong side wall and are made specifically to track for use on a trailer application. I know LT sounds more durable and strong, but that isn't the...
