Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance
This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.
Built-In Offset for Dual Applications
This tire-and-wheel assembly is designed to be used in dual-wheel setups. The 5.35" offset allows the wheel to be positioned closer to the trailer frame when used as the inner wheel of the setup. And if you use this assembly as the outer tire and wheel, the offset ensures that it will sit closer to the outside of your trailer. This hub-piloted wheel centers on the hub, not the lugs, and it requires the use of flange nuts (sold separately) for installation.
Durable Acrylic Enamel Finish
This wheel has a durable acrylic enamel finish on the front. The finish is applied after the wheel goes through an environmentally safe zinc phosphate pre-treatment and is coated with an e-coat primer layer. Compared to powder coat finishes, this finish resists getting chipped from flying road debris or scraped from hitting a curb for a longer period of time. These acrylic enamel wheels performed for more than 1,000 hours in salt spray tests.
Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.
Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Provider ST 235/80R16 radial trailer tire, in a load range E, mounted on this 16" Vesper silver dual wheel with the 8" on 6 1/2" bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly is designed for inaudible 00:00:20 trailers that does use a wheel with the high. The wheel has the high wheel offset, and that'll allow you to use this assembly as either an inner or outer wheel of a dual wheel set up; you can see the high offset will allow it to be used either way. The offset on this wheel is a 5.35", positive or negative, depending how you use the wheel. An offset is always measured from the center line of the wheel to the mounting surface.
So if it goes one way, it's positive; if it goes the other way, it's negative. Again, it'll just depend, if you use this is an inner or outer wheel, if it'll be a positive or negative offset. Again, that offset is 5.35".The wheel is a heavy duty sturdy steel dual wheel. It has the four hand holes, you can see right here; there's two, and there's two. It does use a silver acrylic enamel finish on the wheel; resists chipping and other damage better than the powder coat finishes.
The finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pre-treatment and an eco primer layer. It gives you excellent corrosion resistance. Has a salt spray rating of more than 1,000 hours. The center disc portion of this wheel is inaudible 00:01:27 from fine grain steel, and then it's welded into place all the way around the wheel for strength and durability. This is a hub piloted wheel, and by that I mean, when you install this on your axle, it will center on this pilot hole diameter right here; this is a 4.88 pilot hole diameter. Once it goes onto the axle and centers that way, it does require the use of 5/8" by 18" size flange nuts for installation.
Those we do sell separately on our website; they're part number 95188, and they're listed on this product page as a related product. The tire that's modeled on this wheel is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords, for a nice, long life. It's great for highway use. They also use a nice nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation, and they even offer the tread depth bars like you'll see in passenger car tires; that gives you a quick visual indication of how your tread is wearing. This tire is inaudible 00:02:26 tested to ensure the rubber will hold up over time.
It does use an automotive grade tread; I'm going to zoom in just so I can show you, but basically, if you look at the tread blocks, it has the cuts in it, those little squiggly lines there. Those are called sipes. The sipes will channel the water away from underneath the tire to improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. We did mention this is a ST tire, which is a special trailer tire. It has sturdy sidewalls so it can handle heavy loads, and it is created specifically for trailers; it's not intended for use on any other vehicles. The whole assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications, and exceeds the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.A few specs on this for the wheel. The diameter, which is measured inside to inside, is a 16" diameter wheel. The width on just the wheel is 6" wide. Bolt pattern on this wheel is about 8" on 6 1/2" bolt pattern. As we've mentioned, it uses a flange nut size of 5/8" by 18" size. Weight capacity on just the wheel is 3,860 pounds. We mentioned the pilot hole diameter, 4.88", and the tire size, which is stamped on the sidewall. ST, for special trailer, 235/80R16. The "R" means it's a radial design tire. The size has a section width of 9.3". Overall diameter from the bottom to the top, when it's inflated, is 30.8". It is a load range E tire, which means it's a 10 ply rated tire, so the maximum load when using a dual tire application is 3,080 pounds at 80 PSI.The last thing I do want to mention, most all the new trailer tires are coming through with speed ratings now, and where that is. The speed rating is always labeled by a letter designation, so if you go right past the size we just went through, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then the letter "M." Speed rating "M" will stand for 81 miles per hour. That should do it for the review on this Provider ST 235/80R16 radial trailer tire in a load range E, on this 16" Vesper silver dual wheel with the 8" on 6 1/2" bolt pattern.

Excellent service! I was immediately notified the wheel I ordered was not available until November but was given another option of a wheel that could ship immediately. etrailer shipped the alternate wheel and I just received it within a few days. The wheel looks just like the original one ordered. I will definitely order from etrailer on all my trailer needs.

Excellent quality wheel and tire. I installed 4 on a 7x16 enclosed cargo trailer. Look great, smooth and comfortable, handle the load well. After 1 year and 3000 miles, all are holding up well and no issues after going through a Michigan winter.

I upgraded my travel trailer to slightly larger wheels and after looking around at prices I settled on these from etrailer.com. I have had the trailer out for one trip (about 375 miles) traveling at a variety of speeds. The trailer handles like a champ and these tires met my expectations completely. You might wonder why this isn't a 5 star rating. Well with only one trip with a small number of miles under our belt I don't want to oversell the product

I just received these so I can not comment on how good of a tire they are. I bought these to replace 7 year old tires on a cargo trailer that came with it originally. It probably has less than 5000 miles on it. If these last me another 7 years I will be happy. Not sure about having them filled with the nitrogen since this will be the first tires I have ever had it in. Will update review after I have a chance to drive with them on.
