Beveled Stud Holes

The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. This also eliminates the need to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Exactly what I needed. This is a 12" tire that can travel interstate speeds. I drove my trailer with these two tires on the day I got them for 550 miles from SC to OH. No issues whatsoever, and I was going 70-80 mph the whole time.

Comments
about 3 months after purchasing, I drove cross country with this trailer. I used the trailer as a camping trailer to haul all of my gear. I put about 7,000 miles on it in that one trip. No issues whatsoever.

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Worked great for swapping out the 15” wheels/tires on my Nucamp Tab 320S in order to lower the trailer height enabling me to store the trailer in my garage. I don’t plan to drive with these wheels but it allows me to roll it around at home and in my garage. I also ise the stabilizer jacks while in storage to take some load off the tires.

I was very impressed with the how my order was handled from etrailer.com. I had an issue with some tires being on backorder, but Erika helped me with finding another option that would work for me. I had the tires and wheels delivered a couple days later. Installed them with no issues and put over 500 miles on them that day. I highly recommend etrailer.com.

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

I bought these tires for my motorcycle trailer. Etrailer got them to me in plenty of time for my trip. They look great and I like the fact that they are rated for higher speed. The lights on the trailer I bought from etrailer about a year ago. I think they look great and they have worked without any issues.

Comments
We took a 2000 mile trip after I put on these tires. We had temperatures in the high 90s to low 100s. These tires performed without any issues.I would buy them again.

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Tire and rim look good and were well packaged. Tire seems a bit narrower than existing one, even though they are the same size (4.8-12). Shipping took 2 days longer than originally stated, but ordered it as a spare so no urgency. Etrailer had the lowest price by about $20 and had free shipping.

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

I ordered 3 Taskmaster 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Mod Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range C (Item # TTWAS12B4WMHP) on a Saturday. To my surprise they shipped them right away. The packaging was perfect and the wheels look strong and well made. This little kit trailer (cargo box is 60"x40"x24") has once been in a 3000 mile trip around the West, and the 8" wheels where almost 20 years old so I decided to get fresh tires and ordered the 12" wheels. I'll probably have to give the fenders a little more clearance but that's OK. I'm very happy with the product and service. Thank you guys!

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

I choice these 12” tire/wheel combo to replace the 8” tire/wheel that came with the
trailer frame kit. I wanted an upgraded tire for safe highway speed. Also wanted a silver rim to match the rims of my car. I ordered three, so I’ll have a spare. So far, I’ve traveled 1600 miles with the new set (highway 65-70), and am very pleased. Shipping was fast and packaged well.

I was impressed at the selection of different tires and wheels. Prices were better than I? found locally. I ordered the tires/wheels at 8:30 in the evening and at about the same time the next day they were delivered to my door. How do they do that? Totally satisfied!

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Ordered 3 trailer tires to replace the worn ones and spare on my motorcycle trailer. Ordering was quick and painless and with standard shipping received my order in 3 business days.

One of the tires was defective and wouldn’t hold air. etrailer was great in getting a return label and sending out a new tire right away. Their customer service and handling of issue was great.

I would highly recommend them for your towing and trailer needs. Great Pricing, quick shipping, and excellent customer service. What more can you ask for in a company!

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Just got my two new wheels and put them on my utility trailer. These are the four hole wheels with "C" rated tires and they look real nice too. No more nasty looking H.F. "B" rated tires with white painted wheels, and these are safe to use at highway speeds. Etrailer got them to me quickly and their prices was great.

I shopped around a lot for my new tires and decided on Etrailer Tires. They are the best Tires and wheels out there for my application and priced very reasonable. Also they gave me free shipping and I had the tires on my Camper in 3 days. They look Great. All in all I would definitely recommend ETrailer. Nice looking re and blue pin stripes was a surprise to me.

Review from a similar Mod Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

The quality of the products was only surpasses by the speed with which I received then. The tires and rims seem to be top quality. Of course, I will know more after a few miles on them.

I will be hauling my boat and jet skis on the interstate and needed better equipment as well as spares for out on the road. I certainly felt that these were affordable and will make very cheap insurance for not leaving my boat on the side of the road.

I would certainly recommend etrailer.com to anyone.

  • Why Are ST205/75D-15 Tires Only Running on the Center Tread
Although it is usually recommended that special trailer tires be inflated to their maximum air pressure, it sounds to me like the tires may be over-inflated compared to the weight of the trailer load. Example, tires are rated for 1,820 lbs at 50 psi and the trailer with cargo is only weighing in at 800 lbs. In this case the trailer just isn't heavy enough to flatten out the tire tread a little more. You might want to try removing a small amount of air to see if this corrects the issue....

  • Replacement Trailer Wheel/Tire Recommendation to Replace ST205/75-15 w 5 on 4-1/2 inch Bolt Pattern
The best priced wheel/tire we offer that is the same size as your ST205/75-15 you have with the same bolt pattern is the part # TA53VR. Assuming your trailer is a tandem axle 4 of these would have more than enough capacity for your 6,800 trailer. Each of these have a 1,820 lb capacity. So 4 of these would give you a total capacity of 7,280 lbs.

  • Tire / Wheel Combination For Trailer Axle
Based on the dimension you game me, the bolt pattern of your wheel is 5 on 4-1/2. You will want to make sure you choose tires that have a weight rating equal to or greater than the axle weight rating. I have also linked you to our products page for tire / wheel combinations. • Can a ST205/75R15 Trailer Tire be Replaced by a ST205/75D15
The difference between the two tire sizes you mentioned is the construction of the tires. The R in the ST205/75R15 indicates that the tire is a radial. The D in the ST205/75D15 indicates that it is a bias-ply. The cords inside a bias ply tire run at a 32 degree angle to the direction of travel, and the cords on a radial tire run at a 90 degree angle to the direction of travel, or across the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better...

  • Can a Trailer with 14 inch Wheels Upgrade to 15 inch Wheels
Your current 205/75/14 tire size is 26.3 inches tall. To go with a taller size like the part # TA53VR that you referenced will basically be just a matter of making you sure you have the correct bolt pattern on your trailer and the additional room for a tire size that is 27.13 inches tall. I attached a review video for this wheel/tire, a help article with trailer tire sizes, plus a help article on determining bolt patterns.

  • Can Radial and Bias Ply Tires be Mixed on Trailer
I definitely recommend keeping the type of trailer tire the same for all wheels on your trailer. The reason for this is that bias ply and radial tires do not actually track the same, so you may end up with uneven tire wear. Having the two tire types on the trailer can also lead to suspension issues in more extreme cases. A radial trailer tire is going to run a bit cooler than bias ply tires, so using two together can also lead to overheating issues on just one side. I recommend changing...

  • Mixing 215/75-15 and 205/75-15 Sized Tires on Trailer
It sure will. You really want to avoid mixing tire sizes, as it can lead to poor handing, uneven tire wear and increased trailer sway. It's acceptable to use a mismatched but close tire size for a temporary spare as long as you get the original tire fixed or replaced as soon as possible, but using it permanently would be dangerous. The 215/75-15 is about 1/2 inch taller, which doesn't seem like much it will make a difference. I'd recommend going with two of the # TA53VR tires and keeping...

For your situation all you would need is to get the correct tire size and the correct bolt pattern on the rim you use as a spare and you would be good to go. You tire probably is not 5-1/2". You measure wheels from the beadseat to the beadseat so you probably have 5" rims. I attached a video of a totally different wheel, the # TA52FR. The wheel/tire you referenced, Taskmaster ST205/75D15 Bias Trailer Tire with 15-inch Silver Mod Wheel # TA53VR, is indeed compatible with the Fulton Spare Tire Carrier # FSTC1000301. • Recommended Replacement Trailer Tires for 6x12 Utility Trailer
Trailer tires typically have a lifespan of 5 to 6 years. This means that no matter how good the tread depth may be, no matter how few dry rot cracks you might see in the sidewall, you'll want to consider replacing the tires when they reach this age. I do not recommend using one of your current tires as a spare but you can make that determination after careful inspection. Perhaps one of them is still good enough (for one more season anyway).
