Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Installed this pair of tires on my small utility trailer April 2019 while servicing the wheel bearings & replacing the original leaking grease seals with Bearing Buddy grease seals. Pulled the trailer over 4,000 miles last summer at freeway speeds with NO issues. These Taskmaster tires with 81 mph speed rating are simply wonderful! And the Bearing Buddy grease seals don't leak. Thank you for offering these tires etrailer. Picture is after 4,000 miles.

Ordering was very easy. Fast shipping and delivery! The three trailer tires looked good

Very fine. I got them for my motorcycle trailer.
Edmund D - 05/13/2022

We received our tires today, and my husband put them on the trailer he pulls behind his motorcycle. They look like a good, quality tire. Many other tires this size don't have ratings for up to 80 MPH.

Wheels have noticably more material than the other brand of load range B, 81MPH rated wheels that came on my trailer. hoping they last longer than the 400 miles the other ones did.

These are better than average wheels. I drove 1600 miles and the cheap tires were already worn out. I got these ones and on the return trip, same load and distance, the rubber still has a lot of tread left on it. They are also better balanced, because the cheap ones vibrated all my stuff in the trailer, while these ones do not. Definitely a better value.

Received quickly and the product was as advertised. I feel more comfortable with the M-speed rating of this tire vs its competitors since I plan to do a lot of highway travel with my trailer.

Look robust. Have not mounted yet. Definently more rubber than my original (that was only rated to 37 mph...). Shipping was very quick. I expect no issues based on first look and like how they are SLIGHTLY larger than my cheapos as my bearings will ware less

Wheels/tires were delivered quickly and inflated to proper psi

only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I haven't put them on my trailer yet, They look good and the price was right. I'm sure I will do business again with you.

I ordered new tires, rims and hubs for my trailer. They arrived within a week and were just what I needed. Thank you Rae for the great customer service!

Fast shipping, fit perfect, put over 1000 miles on these tires at speeds up to 65mph with no issues at all. No checking or cracking at all after one year. Look perfect yet.

Wheels with tires arrived in good order. Just waiting for the hubs. When they will be shipped ?
I returned 2 wrong size wheels ( my mistake). Please let me know when I will get credit on Amex. Thanks,

Joseph Kejha

Fast delivery good product

The wheels match exactly as I expected and needed, shipped reasonably quickly (free) and were priced well for my budget.

Awesome customer service fast shipping

Review from a similar Solid Center Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

I placed my order and I believe it was 3 days and it was delivered. The people at etrailer are very friendly and will bend over backwards to help you. I recommended etrailer to my friend today. They were the only ones I could find that had the speed rating I wanted. Will buy from them again.

Your service was great but the one tire lost air through the wheel like the one I returned. On a long trip it went flat while going down the road and before I could get stopped it wrecked the tire and messed up the wheel. Other tire has given me no trouble.

Review from a similar Solid Center Bias Ply in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Spare tire and carrier delivered quickly and correctly. I mounted on my boat trailer with no problems. Fortunately, I have not had to use the spare.

  • What is Typical Trailer Wheel Offset and Will Bearing Buddy Fit Behind Center Cap
The great thing about trailer wheel offsets is that they are basically always all zero offsets so you wouldn't have to worry about that figure when picking out a wheel like the part # AS4808B45WS. Most of the time Bearing Buddies fit behind the correct center cap for a wheel since if the wheel and cap are smaller the Bearing Buddy fit would be proportionately smaller as well.

  • Recommended Trailer Tire with Higher Speed Rating for Size 4.80-8
I have a great solution for your tire size that has a higher speed rating of 81 mph. We only have them with wheels with the part # AS4808B4WS with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. The only way you'll be able to safely recommend you do 70 mph with this option for your trailer. For the 5 on 5 bolt pattern we have the replacement tire and wheel with the part # AM30070. But even though the description says that these work great at the highway speeds, my research shows that the limit is 65 mph.

  • What is the Speed Rating for Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire - 4.80/4.00-8 # AM10002
Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire - 4.80/4.00-8 # AM10002 is rated for a maximum of 65 miles per hour. Exceeding the speed rating will generate excessive heat and can lead to failure. For a 4 on 4 bolt pattern we have # AS4808B4WS this tire and wheel combo is rated for 81 miles per hour. You could go up to a larger tire size provided that you have clearance...

  • How Trailer Tires are Balanced and Recommended Trailer Tires for Small Boat Trailer
Trailer tire balancing is different than vehicle tire balancing that use weights to ensure an extremely smooth rotation. Trailer tires are made different with stronger sidewalls and they don't use weights or ball bearings to balance them. Instead the tire has a high spot and a low spot (heaviest and lightest point) that are indicated normally by a mark on the tire. Then you simply match the valve stem of your trailer wheel with the high/heavy spot on the trailer tire. Trailer tires...
