Note: This wheel should be cleaned with only mild soap and water. Do not use rim cleaners or other abrasive cleaners.
The highly corrosion-resistant finish on this steel wheel is applied through a physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating process. This process occurs in a vacuum environment so that the aluminum coating binds to the steel at a molecular level. As a result, the coating is harder, more durable, and more wear resistant than chrome plating.
Compared to hexavalent and trivalent chrome plating methods, the PVD process creates a finish that withstands the effects of water, flying debris, and other elements for a longer period of time. The aluminum-coated wheels performed for more than 168 hours in salt spray tests, up to 500 hours in water immersion tests, and up to 40 lbs in impact-resistance tests. They won't pit or peel like chrome-plated wheels, and they resist the effects of any chemicals that may be on the road, such as magnesium chloride or salt during icy or snowy weather.
In addition, the PVD coating process is an eco-friendly alternative to chrome plating, which is extremely toxic to the environment.
The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.
Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we're going to take a look at the Taskmaster ST 205-75 D-14 bias trailer tire in a load range C on this 14 inch modular steel wheel with the silver PVD finish and the 5 on 4 1.2 inch bolt pattern. Now this complete tire and wheel assembly is ideal for boat trailers, stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. Starting with the wheel, the wheel is a sturdy steel modular design, and when we say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. It has a nice PVD finish on it, which is extremely corrosion resistant. The PVD stands the Physical Vapor Deposition, and it's a coating process that creates this nice sleek silver finish that's harder, more durable than chrome plating. It gives you a tough wear-resistant coating, won't pit or peel, and it does resist the effects of any chemicals that might be on the road, such as magnesium chloride or salt that's used during icy or snowy weather.
It has excellent corrosion resistance, has a salt spray rating of more than 168 hours. This is an environmentally friendly technique which will bind the coating to the wheel at a molecular level on the front, and even you can see on the back it's a very think coating. We also use the ITR technology, which Improved Torque Retention. This is designed to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer. Basically, the stud holes right here, this is where your lugs will hold the wheel to the trailer hub. They're beveled to give you better clamp force retention.
The tire that's on this wheel is a Taskmaster bias ply tire. It is constructed with strong nylon cords. The stiffer side walls on it allow the entire tire to flex very easily. It does provide a nice smooth ride on uneven surfaces, which you might encounter in any off-road or agricultural use. It does also come with the tread depth bars that you'll see on a lot of passenger car and light truck tires, gives you a quick visual indicator of the tread wear on the tire.
This whole assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specification, and it does exceed your Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. A few specs on this, we'll start with the wheel. The dimension, or the diameter of it, which is measured inside to inside is 14 inches. The width, same way, it's inside to inside, is 6 inches. The wheel has a bolt pattern of a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern, and if you want to measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, in this case 5, you just pick any lug hole, let's pick this one, and you'll measure form this lug hole to either one of these, but the trick is when you measure it, it's from the center of the center hole to the furthest edge. On this one if we put a ruler it would be 4 1.2 inches, so 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
The wheel does use a lug size of 1/2 inch x 20. Weight capacity on just the wheel is 1,870 lbs. The pilot hole diameter, it's the large hole here in the center, goes over the hub on your trailer, diameter of that opening is 3.27 inches. The tire, the size is stamped right here. ST for Special Trailer, 205-75 D 14, the D means it's a diagonal belt, which means it's a bias ply tire. Section width on this is 8 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 26.1. This tire is a load range 6, which means it's a 6 ply rate tire. It has a maximum load capacity of 1,760 lbs at 50 psi. The last thing I do want to mention is all the trailer tires are now going to be coming with a speed rating stamped on them. On this tire, it's going to have a maximum speed of 81 mph, and they way to tell that is if you go right down here by the rim, it will say 100M, 100 is the load index, M is the speed rating. Right next to it, it will show you 81 mph, so the maximum speed is the speed rating M, which is 81 mph. That should so it for the review on Taskmaster ST 205-75 D 14 bias trailer tire in a load range C, on this 145 inch modular steel wheel with the silver PVD finish, and the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

But the metal rims PVD metal protective coating comes off the metal with simple cleaning fluids (IE: Bug & Tar remover or carburetor cleaner) and a cleaning cloth. So do not try to clean road grime or road tar off........ 671908
I gave it 3 stars because I haven't used it yet, however the service, shipping and contact have been 5 stars excellent. I'm waiting to see if tire will hold up, the last tire started falling apart as the tread started crumbling apart after only one year of use ,so I went to a different tire and it looks great .Happy at this point. Thank you . 812297

No problems and great value. 734995
They look great will be installing them this weekend. The only negative thing is if the number of items aren't available it should say that on the order. All in all I really like etrailer. Really great service 437324
A little chipping around the wheels from Mounting, looks good overall. Delivery problem with ups. Post office seems better and less expensive 390228
I ordered a pair of wheels and tires for my camper simply beautiful and super fast shipping. My camper had white rims with chrome rings and I lost one on the road. Over 60.00 to replace so these chrome wheels proved to be an excellent solution. 350772
My order of 4 tires came the date first estimated even though there were weather notices to expect delays. They were individually quality cardboard, boxed. Fit and finish was fine. Got the PVD finish not for the chrome look but rust resistance better than zinc presented in the videos. I sure hope it holds up as presented. Taskmaster tires make the same size Loadstars they are replacing look puny. Got more to refurbish on this trailer and this will be my preferred source. 236316

Good quality products at reasonable prices. I was especially pleased with the order status updates I received as my order was processed and shipped. I was notified that one product was not in stock and the manufacturer had a delivery date in a few weeks. I was given some other product options for that item. That's excellent customer service. Thank you etrailer. 577298

This was the first time I replaced the Tires/Wheels on my boat trailer. I searched several web sites before checking out etrailer.com. etrailer's web site answered all of the questions I had and the prices were competitive. Also they have a nice product selection and after I decided to place an order they kept me informed of it's status. I just received my order yesterday and was very pleased with the product. The wheels look great and are a step up from what my trailer came with when new. I will polish the wheels and dress the tires but I will not be installing them until winter breaks. 337220
