Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for Taskmaster Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - A21514RTM45SM Review

Today, we're going to take a look at the Taskmaster Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range D, mounted on this 14 inch silver modular steel wheel with a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly is ideal for boat trailers, stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. The wheel itself is a steel wheel. It has a modular design to it. The modular design means it has the round holes all the way around the wheel. It's very sturdy and corrosion resistant.

The wheel itself goes through a 3 step finishing process, which will include first a zinc phosphate bath, then an e-coat primer, and then silver powder coat on the front of the wheel. If you turn it over to the back, the back of the wheel, they lightly e-coat it to reduce friction and provide a rust resistance with less flaking. This wheel also uses the ITR technology, which is improved torque retention. It's designed to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer. They use the uncoated stud holes, which are beveled. They give you better clamp force retention.

Now, the tire that's mounted on this, it is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice long life. It's great for highway use. They do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation. This tire does use tread depth bars like you'll see on your passenger car tires.

What that is if you go around the shoulder, you'll see little triangles every so often. That's pointing to the tread grooves. If you go right where a triangle is on the shoulder and look in the tread groove, there's a raised area. It almost looks like a speed bump. It's in all grooves all the way across. That tread wear indicator is a 2/30 seconds tread depth, so when this tire wears down and those tread wear indicators go straight across, form a straight line, that means the tire's worn out.

Basically, what happens is when you're watching your tread as it's wearing down, you can look at that tread wear indicator and it will give you good visual indication of how your tire's wearing. This tire is also bake tested to ensure that the rubber holds up over time. Now, this tire does use an automotive grade tread. If you notice, it has a lot of sipes on the blocks of the tread. The sipes are the cuts that are in the blocks. What that does is that'll channel water away from the tire. It improves traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. This tire is a special trailer tire design. It'll couple the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. Again, it's created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on any other vehicles. This whole assembly does meet the DOT, or Department of Transportation, specifications. It will exceed your federal motor vehicle safety standards. A few specs on this, starting with the wheel . The diameter on the wheel, from inside to inside is where it's measured, is 14 inches. The width on the wheel is 6 inches wide. This wheel does have a bolt pattern of 5 on 4 1/2 inches. The way they measure a bolt pattern on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case 5, you pick one of the holes, let's say this one, and you measure from that hole directly across to either one of these holes. You measure from the center from the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you go to. On this, it will measure 4 1/2 inches. This wheel does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20. Now, the weight capacity on just the wheel by itself is 1,870 pounds. Pilot hole diameter, that's the large hole here in the center of the wheel. It goes over the hub on your trailer. Diameter of that opening is 3.27 inches. Now, on to the tire. The size would be labeled on the sidewall ST, again for special trailer, 215/75R14. The R means it's a radial tire. Section width on this tire is 8 1/2 inches. Overall diameter, from the bottom to the top where it's inflated, is 27 inches. Now, this tire is a load range D, which means it's an 8 ply rated tire. It does have a maximum load capacity of 2,200 pounds at 65 PSI. One last thing I do want to mention is most all your trailer tires now being made will have a speed rating on them. The way you can tell is if you look, it's usually right after the size where the size is labeled. Right after it, you'll see 2 numbers for the load index, and then a letter, which is M. Speed rating is designated by the letter. A speed rating M means 81 miles per hour. That should do it for the review on the Taskmaster Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range D, mounted on this 14 inch silver modular steel wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

I could not more pleased with my 6 ply trailer tires and wheels from etrailer. I purchased the tires mounted on the wheels, took them out of the box and put them on my boat trailer. That was a year ago and have had no problems. Previously I had been blowing out 4ply tires as the Triton boat is heavy. This is not my first purchase from etrailer. They sell quality products at a great price and want you to be satisfied as a customer. Thanks George!

Great wheels & tires upgrade for our (then-new) Zieman ski trailer! We haul our skis from CA to AZ several times a year and wanted a bigger/better wheel and tire to handle not only the distance, but all the conditions that we put the trailer through (miles of roads, heat, dirt, sand & water) and these have handled it all exceptionally well.

by:

These tires replaced a set of 14" tires with Load Range C which barely met the requirements of my 22' camping trailer. These etrailer tires are Load Range D and have 8 plies (the old ones have 6). When they arrived, they appeared to be much more robust than the tires which came on my trailer. The wheels also appeared to be better. I put them on and went on a 9 day camping trip a few days later. This included driving more than 600 miles in Colorado, up and down passes and up to 65 miles per hour. These tires performed just as I had hoped, running much cooler and relieving the concerns I always had with the original trailer tires. I highly recommend this product.

Comments
After another year of use and another 4200 miles, including a trip to Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, Im still very pleased with these tires. They also seem to make the trailer a bit more stable while towing.

Super nice tires and wheels for my boat trailer. I replaced some c range tires and gal wheels that were close to 10 years old. What a relief to find a perfect product to relieve the worry of a blowout. Excellent service with down to earth people.

by:

Good and inexpensive tire. I put it on with a new hub assembly for my Lil' Hobo retro camper trailer. Have to make some new wheel well trim, as you can see, but the tire looks good, almost too good for the camper.

This is not a review of the product -- only time will tell how these tires hold up.

But the purchasing procedure worked great. I bought three of these load-range D ST wheel/tire combos for my 16' Airstream trailer, to replace the original Goodyear Marathon LR C tires. Comparison shopping was easy -- I liked the video analysis of each different option. Filtering down on the website to the type and size I needed worked well. The etrailer customer-service reps were knowledgeable and flexible in sorting out my order. The items shipped fast. And finally, I liked the fact that I could change out the pre-balanced wheels myself, saving a trip to the mechanic.

I've been watching for someone to make a D load range in a 215-75-14 ST for years. I have a typical tandem axle boat trailer that is at capacity and with the usual C load range tires, even brand new rides like it's on marshmallows. They showed up a few years ago but very hard to find until now, with etrailer. These were priced at a point where to buy the wheel/tire combo is less than what it cost me to buy C load range locally and and have them mounted, and not only do I get new wheels but it's much easier and more convenient to just swap whole wheel/tire myself.

So far I couldn't be more pleased. They were backordered which didn't surprise me but the first 4 came in when expected and shipped quick. After getting them on, I ordered a 5th for the spare, it was in within the week. Unfortunately on my first short 1 mile test drive down the road, I picked up a big nail, in the shoulder/sidewall (unrepairable) so I ordered a 6th and once again, it was here in no time.

The wheels themselves are impressive. Not only do they look good, the coating is very impressive.

The tires, what can I say? As soon as I had all 4 on the ground, I was smiling. The tires weren't bulged and I couldn't rock the boat on the tires as they did before! It tows much better, more stable and lighter feeling. I assume it's less rolling resistance and it's much more stable. This boat/trailer weighs about 7400# light, up to a max of about 8000# with fuel, water and gear so it's been at or over capacity for C load range. As far as tire construction etc. it's hard to judge tires that way, but these visually are solid. No strange seams etc. They just look and feel solid as can be and priced really well compared to the usual big names.

I'm very happy with the wheels and tires, and the great service from etrailer.

by:

The tires, and rims just arrived at the end of the day yesterday. They look great, and meet my hopes. They are a part of my spring project to restore my utility trailer. I have the primer coat on the trailer, and now that better weather is coming, I hope to put a couple of finish coats on, and then the new wood sides, and the tire/wheel combo. I had already replaced bearing, and seals, so I hope to have a like new trailer with these higher load capacity tires soon. I'll try to update after the project is done.

Good job etrailer !!

Great Tires!! After a year I am still very pleased with the tires.

by:

Have not had to use the spare, but that’s a good thing.
The rim is very close match to the rims on my Bear trailer.

by:

I bought a pair of these for my boat trailer over a year ago. I had bought a pair of Carlisle Trailer tires and they lasted less than 3K miles (one trip). I now have 5k on these Taskmaster tires and they still look great. Our trips usually take us on Interstate highways and it is very important to make sure you get the correct speed and load rating tire for your driving environment. These tires fill the bill. My last purchase (a single tire) was to replace my spare.

Comments
Great!!! This last year we drove from Denver Colorado to the Michigan UP, then to Grand Maris MN and back home. Over 3K miles, Tires performed great at highway speed and still look great. I would not put anything else on my trailer.
Robert - 06/13/2019

by:

This was my first time purchasing tires online. I was a bit apprehensive, but this transaction went flawless. I just put them on my boat trailer, so I don't have a comment about longevity yet. They fit perfectly. I am very glad that there are tires in this size that are D load rating. When I went to push the boat into the garage, I was surprised at how easily it pushed. I had to catch it before the prop hit the back wall. I will assume that the trailer will pull much easier now. Great communication. Great website with helpful info, like how to make sure that the bolt hole size is correct. I had a blowout on my previous tire and needed these quick. They arrived on time and in great shape, ready to run. Thanks so very much!!!

Comments
After a year, these tires are still in great shape. I wouldnt hesitate to purchase from this site again!
Joe - 09/09/2019

by:

I have had these running on two tandem axle trailers and one single axle. and am so far very pleased with these tires. One of the tandem axles trailers is a boat trailer 4,100LBS that moves between Wisconsin and Florida fairly regularly it's around 3,000 mile round trip continuous speeds 70+ and I would plan on one flat every other trip so far I have made 4 trips and will be doing a 5th soon no flats yet! I am impressed enough with the first 10 of these tires that I will be changing over the rest of the trailers with these tires as they need them. Way way better than the loadstars, kumos, or trailmasters.

by:

Like usual everything I order from etrailer is of high quality and arrives at my door when they say it will. Very satisfied with all my purchases. Customer service is very knowledgeable and my questions are always answered. I will definitely recommend buying from them.

Comments
I have been to Saskatchewan and back to vermont and the tires have worn nice and even and handled the weight very well and stayed nice and cool. Very happy with these tires and would definitely buy them again.
John F - 08/12/2018

by:

Just as advertised. Nice wheel and tire.

by:

I didn't get to use them yet because I don't have the trailer built. But from the looks of them they do appear to be excellent quality, the tires and the rims. I really like the coating that's on the rims' hope it holds up as good as they look. The thread pattern on the tires looks like they should grip the road wet or dry. Will come back with update when I get the trailer done.

by:

I am always pleased with the product, price, service and super fast shipping from etrailer.com. Oftentimes, there is FREE SHIPPING.

I always buy my trailer tires mounted on new rims which arrive in 2 or 3 days ready to bolt up to one of my trailers. Much easier and probably cheaper than hauling the tires to a tire shop and waiting for them to mount them on my old rims. Plus, etrailer will usually carry the 8 ply rated trailer tires that I prefer.

I highly recommend shopping etrailer for the latest deals.

THANKS.

by:

My Travel Trailer came with 205/75R14 Load range C. These tires always looked low on air even with max psi of 55. Ordered 215/75R14 load range D from ETrailer. I was not sure the fender clearance would be enough but it was OK. The 215/75R14 has a max psi of 65# and the tires stand tall and have a higher load capacity which makes me feel better with a single axle.

by:

Great prices and fast delivery. The quality of merchandise and price are very good. The website also provides very helpful technical information regarding lug pattern specifications. I will definitely be recommending etrailer to my friends.
Thanks! Great shopping experience, I will be back when it comes time to replace my utility trailer tires.

by:

Very pleased with these. I have a heavy boat on a single axle trailer and these load rated D tires give me piece of mind with the weight. Very good on highway and around town. They have held up well after a year of use.

by:

The tires and rims were delivered as promised and swapped out nice with the older ones,
These tires run MUCH cooler than the last tires I had (from a major american manufacturer) and that alone tells me how well they will hold up.
Thanks, Gregg

by:

Mounted four of these on to a tandem axle boat trailer. Upgrading from a Load Range C to D made a big difference in how the trailer handles and brakes. Well worth it.

by:

This will be a spare for my Pontoon boat trailer. Tire and rim look good and if I have a blow out I will replace with this tire going up from from C to D load range

by:

I search forever to find a 14 inch radial tire with a D load rating. When the new tires arrived with the rims plus one I will mount on my spare rim I was pleasantly surprise. If they perform well I will be excited. I have tried [other brands] and they performed miserably. Don't believe I will ever buy anything from [other brands] again.
Tanks again etrailer, always enjoy doing business with you!!!

by:

Fast shipping, great price. Load Range "D" is important to me for my RV. These tires seem to hold up well based on past experience. I wish that they came pre-balanced though, it would save a trip to the local tire shop. They needed quite a bit of weight to get balanced.

by:

I usually don't take the time to do this, but even your request for a review makes it a simple task. Great product, great timely service, easy transaction. Can't ask for anything more. Thank you
