Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Provider Radials

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Close up of prg80235 tread

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Review from a similar Provider White Spoke in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Ordered radials to replace puncture prone bias ply tires after a recent flat - again. Tires arrived 2 days after ordering. Packaged well, no damaged, mounted and inflated. The tread looks like car tires and they fill up the fender well. I have a set of Providers on my travel trailer and they have performed well, hoping these will too. I only gave 4 stars because I have no basis to rate their performance but will check back later and share an update. 581195

Review from a similar Provider White Spoke in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Thank you Adam and Etrailer the tires were here in two days and we were told due to the holidays would be 5 to 7 days on free shipping. I was able to get tires on and camper moved before The Christmas holiday. Adam was very helpful and gave great advice I even asked about going up in size on the tires which would have cost more but he explained that would only be overkill. Most stores and dealers even local would have jumped at that and got the extra money. But an honest sell will always bring you back to spend money later because they are trustworthy. Thanks Adam I will come back to you for future tire needs. And the rims were great looking no chips or scratcher. 593402

Seems like this is going to be a great tire. I am getting ready to take them on a 3,000 mile road trip and needed fairly quick. Gwendolyn from customer service was great on helping me get them here on time, couldn't ask for better customer service. Will update tire performance after trip. 431596

This tire wheel and combo is hard to beat for the money. Two out of my four wheels had a couple chips in them on the edge from the mounting of the tires. No big deal, I touched them up. Was hoping my tires would be a little fresher. They were manufactured in China the 16th week of 2017, so a little over one year old. Not really a deal breaker for me. One other minor complaint is that only one of the four tires was mounted with the manufacture date on the outside. Again, not a deal breaker. As usual etrailer gave me great service and a great price. BTW, these are load range C tires. 539546

Review from a similar Provider White Spoke in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Recently bought a new cargo trailer. In researching trailers, I found that radial tires are better than bias ST tires. I also found that Provider radial tires come with a 2 year warranty. The C rated tire has 6 plys in the tread and is speed rated @ 85 mph. The speed rating, to me, is important because I usually only use the trailer on long highway trips at 65+ mph. A radial tire will run cooler than a bias tire will. With the speed rating it is nice knowing I have some reserve. Often times a bias ST tire is only rated @ 65mph. Etrailer had the exact same wheel and tire that came on my trailer. I ordered on a Sunday, shipped on a Tuesday, arrived in the middle of no where Colorado by noon Thursday. In a heavy cardboard box to protect both the wheel and tire. I have put 1100 miles (loaded heavy) on the tires and they show no wear. The trailer will always be loaded heavy and only used on long trips, thus a radial is the only way to go. 290412

I ordered this tire for a spare. It is still in the shipping box one year later. Have not needed it. The OEM tires show no wear at all, however only about 3k miles on them. Very pleased with service from the OEM Provider tires. Plus the service provided by etrailer.

I bought this as a spare tire for my dump trailer. It should serve its purpose. I was a little disappointed as the inside of the wheel does not have great powder coat coverage in white. The primer appears showing through the top coat. The tire appears to be of good quality and should work well if ever needed. 724579

Review from a similar Provider White Spoke in Trailer Tires and Wheels

I was preparing my trailer for a road trip in a few days and on a Saturday placed an order for two of these tires on modular wheels, along with new hub assemblies, because the website indicated that this item should arrive on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I failed to notice that the delivery date only pertained to the first tire and wheel. The following day I received notice that my order would ship in about 7 days which was unacceptable for my trip timeline. I called etrailer.com Monday morning to cancel my original order and place another, but this time with tires on wagon wheels, which were confirmed to be on hand. The phone representative was amazingly friendly and cooperative in handling my situation. My new order, which also included hubs and tie-down rings, shipped that day and arrived the following day! It was only after installing the new hubs and wheel assemblies that evening that I noticed I had received one "C" and one "D" load rated tire. I called again to see if I could return the pair of mismatched tire and wheel assemblies for something similar that was available for immediate shipment and was advised that I could but would be responsible for the shipping cost ($38.99) of the one assembly that was properly fulfilled by my order. I initially agreed to those terms and placed a third order for slightly lower grade tires that would arrive in time for my trip but soon afterwards changed my mind and called back to cancel that order and arrange for a replacement of the one incorrect tire and wheel assembly. Each time I called, the etrailer representative was very courteous and eager to help resolve my problem. The replacement tire and wheel arrived a couple of days too late for my trip but I am completely satisfied with the quality and appearance of these items, having since completed a 500+ mile trip with them and experienced no problems. 719842

  • Is 235/80R16 Tire on Provider Wheel and Tire Combo a Load Range G?
The Taskmaster # A16R80GWS is a 16" wheel and tire combination that uses Provider # PRG80235 tire, which is a 235/80R16 tire with a load range of G. That means the # A16R80GWS has a maximum capacity of 4,080 lbs at 110 psi with a white spoke wheel that is 16" diameter x 6" wide and has an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. I've added a link to a video review of this wheel and tire combo for you to check out as well.

  • How to Determine Wheel Offset When Replacing Trailer Tires and Wheels
A large majority of trailer wheels have a zero offset because this helps them to better and more evenly support heavy loads. This is likely the case on your gooseneck trailer. With that being said it's still a good idea to measure your existing wheels to be sure before finding a suitable replacement. To determine a wheel's offset simply take the tire/wheel off the trailer and measure from the mounting surface of the wheel - where it actually mounts to the hub - to the inside and outside...

  • Hanger Kit and Slipper Spring Spacing for Tandem 7,000 lb Axles to Add 16 Inch Wheels
The spacing is going to depend on the size of your tires, so let's start with that. For a 16 inch wheel/tire combo with an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern the best option is a ST235/80R16 size tire with a load range of G to handle the capacity of your tandem 7,000 lb axles. A ST235/80R16 tire will measure nearly 31 inches in diameter so if your axles centers are spaced 36 inches apart you will have plenty of room. • Do I Need to Upgrade All 4 Tires at Same Time When Going from Load Range E to Load Range G Tires
When you're upgrading/swapping tires, at minimum, you'll want to swap them all out at the same time; running tires with different tire pressures creates a situation where the lower air pressure tires will be in contact with the pavement much more so than the ones rated for a higher pressure. This could create more wear and tear, as well as generate more heat and thus be more prone to blowouts on those lower rated tires. The tire pressure you'll want to run your tires at is going to be...
