Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Beveled Stud Holes

The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. This also eliminates the need to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I haven't put them on my trailer yet but if speed in delivery counts, I ordered 5 tires yesterday and in less that 24 hours, they were sitting in my garage- amazing! Melissa Y was a pleasure to deal with on the phone, she was great with following up on my order, the price for the mounted combination was better than anything I found locally or on line so at this point everything about this purchase was excellent! 175485

Ordered 11/10/16 . Received 11/14/16. Very good service. Everything exactly as ordered. Lots of tape and stickers to remove. Tires arrived with less than 80 lbs. pressure each. Did not know why, because these tires are supposed to be inflated to 110 psi ? Otherwise happy with my order, time will tell how they perform. Am taking them tomorrow to get balanced. Will cost $10 each, as I failed to inquire if you could have done that for me at a better price. 316649

Review from a similar Provider White Mod in Trailer Tires and Wheels

We got an upgrade!! We used to go through a set of tires every year. We went to a taller tire/wheel combo and e-rated. No more tire bulges. Explosions or Funky tire wear. The trailer companies should be less ignorant in putting bare minimum requirements in tires, axles, springs, beds etc. thank you etrailer for the advice and great service. Love these tires. Have put about 7000 miles on and look brand new still. I leave my tire pressure at 70 to help with heat dissapation. And never drive above 75 max. 283654

  • Is there a Benefit in Going Up from a Load Range C Trailer Tire to a Load Range D in 205/75-15
A load range D in tire size 205/75-15 is going to have a capacity of 2,150 pounds at 65 psi. The load range C in the same size is rated for 1,820 pounds at 50 psi. So while the capacity is higher on the D you are still limited to the capacity of the trailer, however, the load range D tires will last longer since they have a higher ply rating. So the biggest benefit you will get if you switch to the load range D are tires that will be a bit stronger and last a bit longer. But there is no...

The Provider Wheel and Tire part # A15R645SMDV that you referenced would work well for you based on what you listed about your trailer. It has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern like what you said you need. This has a center hole diameter of 3.19 inches and a 1,820 lbs at 50 psi capacity that would be more than needed for a Dexter 3,500 lb axle. The center hole diameter really isn't super important as long as it's big enough to fit over the hub. Which this wheel would easily fit on a Dexter...

  • Trailer Tires are Making Contact with Fenders and Wearing Out the Tires
A tires section width is pretty much finite meaning despite the width of the wheel the tire width will always be basically the same and will be wider than the wheel it is on. This is assuming that you are using a wheel width that is compatible with the tire size. For a 225/75-15 trailer tire it will fit a 15 x 6 to 15 x 7 wheel. Wheel width is not the overall width. It is measured from bead seat to bead seat where the tire sits. The overall width will be about 1 inch more. It is possible...

  • Calculating Circumference of Trailer Tire
To determine the length of a tire, if stretched out, you will just need to calculate its circumference. This is calculated by the formula 2(pi)r, where r equals the radius. Since the radius is half of the diameter, the correct formula for your particular tire with a 27.106 inch diameter will be 2(pi)13.553. This gives us a circumference or length when stretch out, of 85.16 inches.

  • Can 14.5 Inch Wheels Be Easily Changed Out to 15 Inch Standard Wheels
It sounds like you have a mobile home axle and are trying to convert it to something more serviceable. However, if you have a standard bolt pattern then very possible. In order to change from a 14.5 inch wheel to a 15 inch wheel you will need to know and then match the bolt pattern. I have attached a FAQ article that covers...

  • Recommended PSI for Jayco Trailer with ST205/75R15 Tires
The psi rating for your tire to function at its best is not determined by load rating and size but specifically by the design and function of the tire. For your upgrade to load range D, you will get a higher ply rated tire and a higher weight capacity. I recommend the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # TR20515D which is rated for a maximum load of 2,150 lbs at 65 psi. This 65 psi is what you should inflate your tires to prior to any trip (cold). The tires have automotive...
