Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Sendel 18 inch by nine inch Black Machine Series T07 Aluminum Wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this is an aluminum wheel. It is durable, lightweight, and rust proof. It is designed to fit many different types of trailers, and it's normally used with a tire size of 245/45-18.
The wheel itself is a Sendel Series T07. You can see it's a V spoke design. It has a nice glossy black finish, and then they put a machine finish on the face of the V spokes to give a nice shine to the wheel. The front and even the back of the wheel are clear coated to protect against scuffs and scratches. Also, if you notice, this wheel does include this chrome bullet center cap that gives a nice, finished look to the wheel.
It is a high quality wheel. It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications. A few measurements on this wheel, the diameter is gonna be measured inside the inside. So if we take our tape measure and if we go all the way across, you'll be able to see there's your 18 inch diameter. The width on the wheel, and when you measure the width, it'll be the same way.
It's gonna be inside the inside or bead seat to bead seat. There's your nine inch width. And this wheel does have a bolt pattern of five on four and a half inches. And if you wanted to measure a bolt pattern on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs. Let just slide this cap out for a minute so I can show you.
There's your bolt pattern. And what if you measure it, if it's an odd number of lugs, like in this case five, what you'll do is pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across from this hole to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this wheel, it'll measure four and a half inches. So that's gonna tell you this is a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel does also have a positive 10 millimeter offset. Basically, that's telling you that this mounting surface is gonna be moved towards the front of the wheel about 10 millimeters. So it's gonna move the tire and wheel back towards the trailer a little bit. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. The hub diameter that the center cap goes through right here is gonna be 3.19 inches. And the load rating on this wheel is 2,600 pounds. But that should do it for a look at the Sendel 18 inch by nine inch Black Machine Series T07 Aluminum Wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern.
