This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today, we're going to take a look at the Lion's Head 16 inch by six inch Bearcat silver machined aluminum trailer wheel with the six on five and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof this one happens to be the attractive Bearcat series, which is a six spoke design wheel, has a nice silver finish to it with the machine accent on the face of the spoke and even on the lip of the wheel. They do use an automotive-grade clear coat finish on the front to help protect from any scuffs and scratches. And they also use the steel inserts in these lug nut Wells here to help keep your wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. Those inserts help prevent the holes from elongating or wearing down and eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts.They do offer complimentary roadside assistance for two years on this, it includes flat tire service, which is available 24 seven, anywhere in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
Now this wheel does not come with a center cap. We do sell center cap separately if you do need one. What I would recommend is to make sure the center cap that you purchase has a diameter of 4.25 inches, which is the measurement here of the pilot hole in this wheel. This wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications and the SAE J 1204 standards.A few specs on this. We're going to measure the diameter and the width and the diameter always be measured inside the inside.
What you're measuring is when the tire is mounted on this wheel, the tire bead will seat right here. So you're measuring from the tire bead seat across to the tire bead seat. So if you get the diameter on this, if we put a tape measure, you're going to be looking right at 16 inches for the diameter. The width will be the same way it's bead seat to bead seat, inside to inside. So right at six inches wide.Bolt pattern on this wheel is a six on five and a half inch bolt pattern.
And if you want to measure that bolt pattern on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs in this case, six it's pretty easy cause there's lug holes right across from each other. So all you do is pick any hole, let's say this one, measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. On this wheel, it'll measure five and a half inches. So six lug five and a half inch bolt pattern. This wheel does use the wheel lug size of a half inch by 20 or nine sixteenths by 18.

Bought these for a boat trailer that I completely rebuilt (many parts from etrailer.com, including these). I've been extremely happy with them.
