An example hauling a heavy load with and without Timbren.

When hauling heavy loads, the resistance from Timbren's hollow rubber springs will work with the trailer's suspension to raise the trailer's ride height. This is will take additional strain off of the hitch components and help the trailer ride easier.

Under pressure, hollow rubber springs are designed to progressively support the suspension.

The Timbren system includes brackets that will be bolted to the trailer frame above the axle. Hollow rubber springs are then bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the spring sits one inch above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride you are used to.

Animation of a standard Timbren rubber spring

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape provides increased resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping the trailer level.

Timbren suspension system works to prevent body roll

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's or passenger's side of the trailer. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when hauling off-center loads.

An example of a trailers swaying without Timbren SES

Timbren Suspension systems help compensate for all of the probable causes of trailer sway from unbalanced loads to gusts of wind from passing vehicles. Installing Timbren will make your trailer track better behind your vehicle and provide a safer more comfortable towing experience.

Your product is great. The package it came in took a beating tho. Maybe double up on the cardboard when you ship it. Also maybe make the mounting of it where it doesn’t need welding.

by:

Exactly what I needed. Putting them on today and hopefully it takes care of the weight issues I was having with my trailer. Great customer service with your company. Pleasant shopping experience.

The merchandise arrived in very good condition. Well before we expected it to arrive. If I have to buy anything more for my trailer I will check with the first.

  • What Would Cause Keystone Carbon 358 Suspension to Sag
Hey Shawn, is it possible your leaf springs are just worn out and due to that your suspension is sagging and causing the tires to rub? Doing and over under kit and then trying to go with softer springs to offset the additional height would not be recommended and it certainly wouldn't change the height by 1-3/4 inches. We also have Timbren kits for trailer suspension like with the part # TTRA1032 which will give you additional support too to prevent the rubbing. Did you by chance increase...

  • Best Timbren Trailer Helper For 2021 Forest River Cedar Creek 5th Wheel
Hello Jon, thanks for reaching out. We do offer Timbren Helper Bumpers that can be used on your 2021 Forest River 5th wheel. Do you happen to know the floorplan or GVWR? That will help us narrow down the correct part. You will likely need something like the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Medium-Duty Trailers # TTRA1032 which is rated for 7,000 lbs. There are heavier and lighter duty option depending what your axle capacity is. Let me know your GVWR/Floorplan and I can make...

The Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops - Rear Suspension - 2,000 lbs # TABSTORSEQ are not designed for your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. You will instead want the Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops - Rear Suspension - 2,400 lbs # TABSJRJK which are a confirmed fit for your vehicle. They measure 3-5/8 inches tall as you can see in the attached photo.

  • Correct Timbren and SumoSprings for 2022 Grand Design Solitude 3540GK
I apologize for any confusion from the previous response. The 2022 Grand Design Solitude 3540GK does in fact come with 7,000 lb overslung axles. The correct Timbren is the # TTRA1032 which works with both the underslung and overslung configuration. The correct SumoSprings are the # SS26MV. If I were to recommend one it would be the SumoSprings. They will give you a smoother ride when compared to the stiffer Timbren.

  • Recommended Bump Stops for Dexter 7K Axle
The Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System part # TTRA1032 is my recommendation for a set of bump stops or jounce bumpers for a Dexter 7K Axle. These Timbrens will do a great job of compensating for off-center loads, reduces body roll when swerving and turning corners, and working to eliminate trailer sway.

  • Adding Shocks or Helper Springs to a Trailer to Go Off Road
To answer the last question first, trailer axles move not just up and down but front to back a little as well; especially when there is more than one axle. Having shocks at an angle is more ideal for that type of set up than ones mounted straight up and down. So between the Equa-Flex and the shocks I would go with the shocks for your purposes. Lippert has 2 shock kit options. First is # LC281281 for 3 inch diameter axles. And second is # LC281255 for 2-3/8 inch diameter axles. Another...

  • How To Fix Trailer Leaning To One Side
It is not uncommon for a trailer to lean to one side even from the factory as heavier appliances can be on the same side or there could be multiple slides on that side. In order to try and combat this issue there are options from SumoSprings and Timbren. The SumoSprings are made of a much softer material than the Timbrens so although they are better at retaining ride quality, they could still allow the trailer to lean. Therefore, the Timbrens would be the best option for leaning. I recommend...

  • Timbren Suspension Kit to Help Stabilize 8,000 lb Trailer
Yes the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Heavy-Duty Trailers # TTRA5602 would help stabilize the suspension of a trailer, but since your travel trailer weighs 8,000 lbs this would be too harsh since this is for a 16,000 lb axle. Instead you'd want the part # TTRA1032 which is more appropriately rated for your trailer.

  • How Much Clearance Should be Between Tires and Fenders on Unloaded Trailer
It all depends on how much the suspension travels but I would say unloaded you would want at least an inch from the tops of the tires to the bottom of the fenders. Keep in mind though that over time the springs will flatten out some, as much as half an inch, so keep that in mind years down the road. You could also add some suspension enhancement, # TTRA1032, rated for 7,000 pounds, which will help with support and ride quality. And it will prolong the life of the suspension. For a tandem...

  • Recommended Timbren Suspension for Trailer With Roughly 1000-lb Load
Usually when a trailer is bouncing around a lot behind tow vehicle, it starts with an improperly loaded trailer that has too much tongue weight and weight that is not properly distributed. Typically a trailer should have 10-15% of the total weight on the tongue of the trailer; you can measure your trailer's tongue weight with a tongue weight scale like the etrailer # e99044. Your tongue weight should be in the 200 to 270-lbs range using the 10-15% guideline (when fully loaded). When it...

  • How Much Space Is Required for the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System TTRA1032
I do have an option but the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System part # TTRA1032 requires 3" between the frame and axle/leaf springs so it won't work. I can't recommend you raise the frame from the axle to use these as the preload would not be correct. Instead, the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # TSS-107-40 or part # TSS-106-40 is what I recommend and you would actually lift the trailer frame from the axle to install these as they are designed to be installed with a preload.

  • Recommended Air Suspension Kit for 13,000 lb Tandem Axle Food Trailer
To assist with the stability of the trailer, an air suspension system will give you the support you are seeking for off center loads as well as offering a smoother ride and support for off center loads. For this system, I recommend the Lippert Components Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade - Tandem Axle # LC1565391. This system also raises your trailer about 2 inches to give you additional clearance. If you want suspension support but don't want the air system, you may...

  • What Welding is Required to Install Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System
To install Timbren helper springs # TTRA1032 the included bolt will need to be tack welded to the top plate, the top plate then gets welded to the bottom of the frame above the leaf spring stack. The 3 lower brackets will need to be welded together to get 3 inches of space (unloaded) between the lower plate and upper frame bracket. Then the lower disc assembly gets welded to the u-bolt plate. • Does Bump Stop Have to be Used When Installing Dexter Over Under Suspension Kit
Dexter "highly" recommends using a bump stop of some kind when installing their over under kits like the # K71-385-00 that you referenced. It is not an absolute requirement but if you do not have much suspension travel currently it might be a good idea. You could use a Timbren kit like the part # TTRA1032 which would act as a jounce/bump stop.

  • Cedar Creek Hathaway 5th Wheel Suspension Enhancement Recommendation
The Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Medium-Duty Trailers # TTRA1032 that you referenced will give your trailer's suspension a noticeable amount of additional support. It will help level your trailer side to side as the additional support will reduce the sag on that side of the trailer. I'd recommend making sure that you have the correct rated leaf springs on your trailer and that they aren't worn out either.

  • Can Higher Capacity Leaf Springs be Used on a Trailer Weighed Down by a Bobcat Tractor
I do not recommend using higher capacity springs because that will give you a stiff ride. Also the different springs may require a different hanger orientation and since the hangers are welded on this is a professional job since the old ones have to be cut off and new ones welded on. Even if you added the higher capacity springs, the axle and tire capacities will not also increase so you could easily overload the trailer. With a load on the trailer, it is going to compress the springs....

For 7k axle like what your trailer has we have a set of Timbrens that would work great with the part # TTRA1032 but SumoSprings does not make a kit for that high of an axle capacity. The Timbrens are a very similar design and would work great to provide additional suspension support.

The E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System by Dexter Axle - 5-5/8" Equalizers # K71-652-00 will fit any system just like an equalizer regardless of the bracket, so this will be a good upgrade to take some of the bounce out of your trailer as it will absorb that shock. The shocks will assist to absorb more and won't be mounted to the area where the hanger protrudes from the frame, so there shouldn't be any alignment issues. • Recommendation of Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System for a 3,000-Lb Utility Trailer
I would recommend to use the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System , part # TTRA1032, on your 3,000-lb utility trailer. This enhancement system is for medium-duty trailers. It has a weight capacity of 7,000 lbs. This does not mean that you will be able to carry more weight than what your trailer is rated for, but it will help reduce sag and sway when you put the load of your equipment on the trailer. It is always better to have more weight capacity than not enough weight capacity....
