Today we're going to be taking a look at the CE Smith round U-bolt. For replacement of a U-bolt it is going to act as a part of a trailer suspension system. It can be used with another U-bolt and a U-bolt plate to secure one side of your axle to a leaf frame. Keep in mind that these can be used for a number of other applications as well. This is made from a steel construction. It's got a galvanized coating on it so it's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion making this great for boat trailers or anything that deals with moisture. It's going to come with 1 U-bolt and it's going to come with your mounting hardware which includes 2 nuts and 2 lock washers.
The product's made right here in the USA. Few measurements to go over with you real quick. Starting with the length measuring from the bottom of this piece here to the end of the threaded portion, that's going to give us a length measurement of 4 13/16 of an inch. The bolt size is going to measure 3/7 inch in diameter, so it's 3/8 x 16, 16 represents the thread pitch. So the first number in that sequence is going to be the diameter, the second number in that sequence is going to be the thread pitch. The threaded portion, that's going to give us a measurement of about 1 3/4 of an inch.
The inside width, so the opening size that we have, inner width is going to measure 1 3/4. If we measure center-on-center, the distance that we have between the bolts or the studs, that's going to give a measurement of 2 1/8 of an inch. That's going to do it for today's look at the CE Smith round U-bolt.
