Good quality, good price. Delivered fast and was well packed, but the threads on one of the spindles was damaged. Might help if nuts were placed on end of spindle to reduce thread damage. 567968

fast service an friendly was great doing business with etrailer would use them again if their services are needed. We are using their product to build a set of tow dollies for my wrecker. By getting what we needed from etrailer we saved $1,080. dollars over what a set of dollies cost new an our build is just as good as the ones you pay 1,400.00 for. Along with the savings the girl at etrailer took the time to talk with me an to search over their inventory to make sure we got the parts that were right for our build. Most try to rush you an get you off the phone an never take the time to listen to the needs of the customer like etrailer does. Often i go to parts stores for parts for things i am building that are not for what they are intended for an the person at the counter does not want to hear you describe what you are building so they might be able to get a part that will work once they find out its not for what their computer says it fits its all over in their mind but etrailer goes the extra mile to listen to the build layout to insure they get it right an to me customer service such as this is rare an a true value to the customer. Thank you again for the EXCELLENT customer service you provide. We are planing to provide pictures of our finished product within a few day. 306322

Very good high quality product. I really like how etrailer gave exact dimensions of the product. Most other websites were very vague, or didn't provide all the dimensions. Keep up the good work! 30339

Ask the Experts about this Redline Trailer Spindles

Do you have a question about this Trailer Spindle?

  • What Size of Spindle is Needed for a 3,500-Lb Axle
  • I have three spindles that are for a 3,500-lb axle and have the bearing dimensions you have listed. The only difference is the dimension for the grease seal is 1.75 inches, not the 1.795 inches that you have mentioned. Maybe you typed in the seal diameter wrong. The hub number you have mentioned is just a casting number, not a part number. The three spindles I have for a 3,500-lb axle are as follows. Redline Spindle 1.75 Inch Round x 4 inch Stub, part # R20484 Redline EZ Lube Spindle...

  • Number 84 Spindle Replacement Recommendation for a Bent Trailer Spindle
  • If its a Dexter axle and the bearings match what are recommended for the # 84 spindle and what comes with the Bearing Kit for 84 Spindle part # BK2-100 than yes, you have a 84 spindle. There are several 84 spindles available with the only difference being the F measurement or the length of the spindle before the stepped portions of the spindle start. The Spindle 1.75" RD x 6.5" STUB # R2061-284 has an F measurement of 6.50 inches. The Spindle part # R40484 has an F measurement of...

  • The hub you referenced, Dexter 3500-lb 5-on-5 Trailer Hub # 84550BX, which comes with inner/outer bearings # L68149 and # L44649, is indeed a correct fit for the Redline # R2061-284 Spindle. For reference videos on both of these items are linked.

  • Spindle Replacement Recommendation For Donahue Horse Trailer
  • In order to make sure you get the right components for your Donahue Horse Trailer, we will need some more information. If you are wanting to replace the spindle, the first thing you will need to know is the weight capacity and dimensions of the axle you plan on using the spindle on. Please keep in mind that installing the spindle require welding it to the axle by a certified welder. They use special jigs so that it is concentric and square on the axle or it can cause problems with uneven...

  • Replacement Hub for Trailer With Timken 158123 Inner and 09067 Outer Bearing
  • I looked through our selection of hubs and hub/drums, and couldn't find anything compatible with the bearings you mentioned. This leaves you with two alternatives. Number one would be to cut off your existing spindles and install spindles like # R2061-284 that would be compatible with a standard hub like # 84545BX. The hub has the same number of lugs and bolt circle as your existing hubs, so you could use the same wheels. Removing the old spindles and welding the new ones into place...

  • What Bearings fit the Number 84 Spindle R2061-284
  • I attached a picture that has a diagram with all of the dimensions listed for the Spindle part # R2061-284 that you referenced. This is a number 84 spindle which means the bearing kit part # BK2-100 would have the correct bearings and seals. This kit comes with a L44649 and a L68149 bearing plus a # RG06-050 grease seal. I attached a link to a page that has all of the hubs we offer that will fit this spindle.

  • Hub and Drum Assemblies and Spindles for Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes for 3500 Pound Axles
  • The brake assembly # 23-112 is rated for 6,000 pound axles, not 3,500 pound axles. For a 3,500 pound axle you will need to look at 10x2-1/4 inch brakes such as # 23-26 for the left side and # 23-27 for the right side. These mount to a 4-bolt flange, such as # 4-34 for 1-3/4 inch round axles, or # 4-35 for 2-3/8 inch round axles. Brake mounting flanges need to be installed by a qualified professional with experience welding on brake flanges because it is a precision job requiring special...

  • Recommendation of Trailer Hub and Drums and Axles
  • The trailer hub and drum assembly # 845476UC3 includes bearings and races from Redline. They are made in China. I would assume you have 5 on 4-3/4 inch bolt pattern but you will need to replace the spindle. Welding on a new spindle is a precision trade craft requiring a special jig installed by an experienced professional. Otherwise, you could continue having the same problem. Depending if you currently have a round or square will determine which spindle you need. If it's round, you...

  • Replacement Axle for a 1991 Lowe Boat Trailer
  • None of the spindles we carry have the same measurements as what you have. The only real recommendation I could make would be to replace the axle since by the time you buy the spindles, have them professionally installed and get the correct hubs you're almost at the same price as just getting a new axle. In order to recommend an axle assembly for you, I'll need some more information. First, you will need to ensure that the existing wheels and tires you are using are rated for the extra...

  • Identifying Nature of Damage to Trailer Spindle
  • Thank you for providing the clear photo of your trailer spindle. Based on the picture it appears that the race for the inner bearing is still stuck on the spindle and shows some signs of scoring damage. Perhaps the inner bearing was damaged and the heat created caused the race to become fused to the spindle. I do not recommend trying to repair this spindle. The effort needed to remove that race will likely cause more damage. It will be safer to replace the spindle. Spindles should...

  • Material Used on the Spindle 1.75" RD x 6.5" STUB # R2061-284
  • I spoke to Redline, and they weren't able to tell me the type of steel used to make the spindle stub. They said that it is heat treated, which allows the spindle to harden to an extent, but the spindle is pretty standard steel. The spindle needs to retain a slight amount of flex to retain its durability when a trailer goes over a bump or through a hole in the road. The part # R2061-284 is rated for use on 3,500 lb axles but that's the only rating we have.

For the Bearing Buddy seals, use # BB60002. Unfortunately, the # AKHD-655-35-K is a pre-packaged kit, we can't substitute any parts. However, the hub is an EZ lube hub and the spindle is not. For a compatible EZ lube spindle use # R20384EZ. This spindle also has a brake mounting flange.
