Great quality chains, haven't hooded them up yet as its winter here in Ontario Canada but I'm sure they'll work great.

by:

Received my Goosebox yesterday installed today, it went well with online installation video. The instructions in the box were basic and didn't include connecting the Goosebox to the truck with how to pressurize the air, which would have been helpful. The packaging job wasn't very good, box was loosely packaged allowing hitch to move around inside the box. Luckily there was no damage. All and all, it went well, just would have been better with more details on operating the Goosebox hitch itself

by:

exactly as expected!

by:

great fit for reese goosebox!

by:

Safety chains were exactly as advertise d.

by:

Solid high quality hitch. I use this with a Reese Goosebox on a 16.8k fifth and an F350 Tremor. The ball height on this works better than the other very tall (and more expensive) gooseball I have.

by:

Nice people to do business with. Thanks

by:

Delivered sooner than expected, all items arrived as expected. Customer service was great!!!

Working as expected, high quality and satisfied with the purchase.

by:

Excellent, Choice excellent service

by:

I had to use a torch to cut (2) 1/2” sized holes in the neck portion of the 1989 Gooseneck cattle trailer, but once that was completed installation was straightforward and easy. Should be much safer hauling cattle with these two chains in place.

by:

well they are safety chains.. the only complaint is the hooks do not hook on the Dodge pucks in the bed of the truck, They need to be bigger.

by:

Easy install on reese goose neck conver sion.

No complaints so far. Still look brand new.

by:

just received have not installed yet

by:

Easy install and provides us with the security of the heavy duty safety chains.

by:

Complete safety chain set is of great quality, highly recommend for towing safety, even where not required.
Etrailer was great to work with on this order.

by:

I waisted money on a andersen and shoukd have statted with this

by:

Great hitch. Nice to have my bed back, now that I don't have a slider hitch in it.

by:

Great! I just put them on the new gooseneck. Real heavy duty...very strong and, an impressive look. Feel safe.

by:

Nice finish on the chains, and good quality hooks.

by:

ETrailer experience was good. Shipper leaves a lot to be desired. Took 6 days from arrival at final shippers depot for delivery. Was promised for 3 days it was on truck. Finally on third day received after numerous calls to local manager.

by:

Nice, heavy duty chains. They've been on my toy hauler for almost two years with no signs of corrosion. Fortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to test them!

by:

But the order I put in the day before has not arrived yet!

by:

Don’t really need them but some states require them so I got them. Nice chain hope I never need them

by:

Exactly as described but FAR less expensive on [online]. Shame on me for not checking first.

by:

Nice set, good price from Trailer

  • What is the Length of the Reese Safety Chain RP49151

I spoke with a representative of Reese who told me the size of the bolts are 9/16 inch for the Reese Safety Chain Kit with Clevis Hooks # RP49151, as per the written instructions. The kit does come with the hardware needed to attach the safety chains to your Reese Goose Box.

  • Do Trailer Safety Chains Need To Hook Onto the Vehicle a Certain Direction?
When connecting Safety Chains # RP49151 I prefer to place them on with the opening facing down. While this is not a requirement since it has the retainer I do this in the event the retainer fails the chains would be less likely to fall off the vehicle hooks.

  • Safety Chain Setup for Gooseneck Trailer that Weighs 26,000 lbs When Loaded
Each of the chains of the # RP49151 are rated for 10,000 lbs for a combined capacity of 20,000 lbs. For the weight of your trailer when fully loaded you'd be better of with the part # 63451 which has a 26,400 lb PER chain capacity.

  • Can I use 20k Safety Chains with the Reese 16k Goosebox?
Because the bolts used to attach the chains to the pin box are different sizes on the 16k and 20k, the Reese 20k safety chains # RP49151 are not directly compatible with the 16k Goosebox. However, after speaking with my source at Reese, we determined that it won't be an issue if you just match the bolt sizes up with your Goosebox. The 16k chains # 49150 use a 1/2" diameter bolt and the 20k chains use a 9/16" bolt, so depending on the bolt hole size on your Goosebox (which is probably...

  • Can Gooseneck Safety Chains 49150 be Used with Cattle Trailer
The Tow Ready Safety Chain Kit with Clevis Hooks # 49150 have a 16,000 lb trailer capacity so as long as your trailer weighs less than that when loaded these would be a properly rated safety chain for your setup. The length of these is also 44 inches so you might verify that this length would be sufficient as well. In general this is a length that works well for most so I wouldn't anticipate it being an issue. For a higher rated chain set we have the part # RP49151 which has a 20k capacity...

  • Changing Pin Box To A Reese Gox Box Gooseneck Ball Connection On a ATC Game Changer 3619 Toy Hauler
You need to match the bolt hole pattern from your current pin box on your ATC Game Changer Pro 3619 5th Wheel Toy Hauler. From the information I found it does appear that your Toy Hauler came with a 1621 bolt pattern which has holes that are 2" in vertical separation and 7-7/8" horizontal separation. The Reese Goose Box # RP85FR would be the correct replacement for your 5th wheel that has a 1621 bolt pattern. It does have a 20,000lb weight rating with 4,000lb tongue weight capacity. This...

Do understand that this pin box does have a maximum trailer capacity of 16,000lbs so it will only slightly reduce your maximum loaded capacity.
