Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.

Combination Lights for Trailers Over 80" Wide

Flatbed trailer over 80" wide with combination tail lights

If a trailer is 80" or wider at its widest point, then it requires rear clearance lights in addition to basic trailer lights. These clearance lights indicate the width of the trailer when it is viewed from the back.

To meet these requirements on a flatbed utility trailer where the bed extends past the wheels, you can install combination trailer lights that include the rear clearance function. For proper mounting, the lights must be installed at the widest points on the rear of the trailer - one on each corner.

I ordered a Wesbar 3504 and was shipped 6504. Didn’t think anything about it figuring it was just an update from an old number.
When I went to install it I found there is a hole in the back of the original that isn’t in the replacement. The hole is there to make room for a large bolt on the trailer.
I have already prepared the harness for my particular trailer, so I don’t think it’s returnable.

Both the updated version of the Wesbar lamp, part # 403026 and its Optronics equivalent, part # ST17RB are submersible lamps, meaning that they are sealed to prevent intrusion. Unfortunately, we dont have a similar lamp that features a hole like whats shown in your photo. I believe at this point your best bet would be to take a die grinder or Dremel type rotary tool and recreate that hole in the back of the new lamps. If you decide to go that route, be sure to unplug the trailer connector before backing the boat into the water, and letting the lamp drain before plugging the trailer back in.

These lights came quickly and were exactly as advertised, I am very happy with this purchase easy installation and they work Great

by:

Etrailer is best place for trailer parts.I own two boats and other trailer’s Wesbar lights are the best.

by:

Very nice light. It was a very close factory replacement. All I had to do was connect the correct wires to the corresponding light circuit. Probably 45min repair time. I allowed extra for a coffee break. The first picture is the replacement. The second picture is the original light.

by:

Main taillight burned out after about a year. I submerged the trailer perhaps 10 times during that time (Boat trailer) but I was still a bit disappointed given that it looked like things were sealed up well inside the light. On the positive side, the bulbs are replaceable so I had it fixed in 10 minutes.

I bought both the left and right side trailer lights for my Nitro trailer. They fit perfectly! These lights do not come with the the 3-way molded connector that plugs right into the trailer wiring. I purchased heat shrink splice connectors (for 22 to 18 gauge wire) along with liquid electrical tape to attach my lights. Everything works great.

Kudos to etrailer for the speedy delivery!

My trailer lights are still working great! No problems with them whatsoever. Thank you.

by:

This review is about service. Yes, the replacement tail lamp assembly and quick-splice connectors were shipped on time at a fair price. BEFORE they were ordered, however, my call was promptly answered and Sal M. walked me through ordering the proper components, and helped confirm I was indeed ordering the correct replacement part. He then went on and helped diagnose the problem with the left tail-lamp and confirmed I was ordering the correct part. He also provided valuable insight into the debug of a clearance light problem. This is the second time I've purchased from ETRAILER, and each time I do so I have received outstanding service from the phone team, products that work, and fair pricing with on-time delivery.

Quality product. Didn’t fit my bracket perfectly but I made a small modification to the back and works good.

by:

This is the third time I have purchased lights for my boat trailer over the years and the service has been outstanding. Follow up from the vendor has been quick and informative. I have always received exactly what I ordered and the quality is what I expected. Delivery has not been and issue, everything delivered in the time line promised.

Was exactly like the original light and fit properly with the exception that the wiring was not color coded correctly. The box stated that the white was ground, the black was tail, and red was stop and turn. The light had a white, yellow, and brown wire.

by:

The product is just like the original part. However, the wiring instructions did not account for the color coding on the trailer wiring, black, red and white. The new lights had different color wring on each light, brown, yellow and white for the driver side and brown, green and white on the passenger side.

It is best to test the wires on your trailer to determine the function of each. For the Wesbar Low Profile Trailer Lights, the color code is: brown - running light, yellow - left turn and brake, white - ground, green - right turn and brake.

by:

Bought these to replace old ones that got water damage. They were easy to install and work great, would recommend!!!

by:

The Wesbar low profile lights were a direct replacement on my 1998 Nitro trailer. They were fairly easy to install, rewiring takes most of the for the installation since old wiring must be cut and spliced to new wires on lights. One thing to note; most of the wiring diagrams I found depict the trailer to have green, brown and white wires, my Nitro has red, brown and white. Not a big issue but something that made do a little more checking before I did the permanent wire splicing. Trailer lights look just like they did from the factory and work fine.

by:

The trailer light works and looks great! Got it early too! We will definitely be ordering any other items for our boat trailer from your business.

Still a great product. The lights are sealed nice and tight so no water gets in. We forgot to unplug the lights from the truck and backed the trailer into the water. No Problem! Great product.

by:

They were not waterproof and I had to replace both lights. Warranty wasn't worth the postage.

by:

These lights were an exact replacement for the lights on my snowmobile trailer. They work great.

by:

Bought a pair of these trailer lights. Worked great for a year and a couple of months. Recently the passenger side brake and turn signal went out. Turns out it leaked and burned out the bulb and corroded the inner workings. See pic. It's been just over one year so the warranty has expired. The other side is still working. I had never had this opened up before so it was a factory fault.

by:

Bought this as a replacement to a light I broke pulling my trailer through my gate. This product was half the cost of my local trailer supply stores.

I like the LED setup. The lights run great. The only warning if your thinking about buying these type of lights and are switching from conventional lights is that these LED light require a ground wire from the vehicle and on the trailer frame to work.

Could not be happier with the price or the product.

by:

This light was a replacement for one I smashed while backing the trailer. It is an exact match for the lights on my boat trailer. Install was easy and the price was good. It comes with everything you need to install it, including the bulbs. I do have to add that I didn't use the wire nuts included. I used my own weather proof version.

by:

Great selection of parts. Fast shipping.

by:

You have great products, service, website, information, follow-up and most of all your people. Haven't installed the lights yet but I'm sure they will work fine. I'm replacing the older generation Wesbar lights on my 16 year old boat trailer with these new ones.

Something I've learned the hard way over the years: YOU CAN'T TRUST THE TRAILER FRAME TO BE A GOOD GROUND. Run a separate ground wire directly to each light from the vehicle connector, then the lights will just work. It will save you a lot of heartburn when you plug in the lights and never know what your gonna get.

Keep up the good work. I'll be back when I need more stuff.

by:

Excellent product and excellent service. Replaced the lights on a boat trailer I recently bought that had similar lights but were the sealed type that did not have a provision to change the bulbs, these are the same brand and are sealed but do allow the bulbs to be replaced if needed. The web site for etrailer.com is excellent as is the service.

  • Reverse Lights On Trailer Stop Working After Switching To LED
If the backup lights on your trailer have stopped working since you have installed LED then most likely your lights are not grounded properly or you have a loss of power on the reverse light circuit. If you test the reverse circuit wire for power before it reaches the light that should tell you if you have a connection issue or poor ground. If you get power on the reverse circuit wire just before it reaches the lights then you know you have a bad ground but if not then you most likely...

  • Can LED and Incandescent Lights Be Mixed on Boat Trailer
It is certainly possible to use both LED-type and incandescent-type lighting at the same time on a trailer but I recommend you stick to one type or the other. LEDs are roughly 10-times as efficient as the incandescent type bulbs, and this means that in certain cases (depending on the number and placement of the lights within the overall trailer wiring) if you mix them you could find that some of the lights will be substantially brighter than others. The exact way the trailer is wired will...

The best way to find the correct replacement bearings is to get the numbers stamped onto the metal of the inner and outer bearings that are currently on the trailer.
