Today we're going to be reviewing part number ST48RB. This is the sealed, 4" round trailer light with a reflector that goes around the actual light. The red round trailer light is going to serve 4 functions such as your stop, turn, tail light and rear reflector. It's going to feature a sealed waterproof housing and lens unit. It's also going to feature a heavy duty long-life bulb. This is an incandescent bulb that sits on a shockproof socket so it's going to guarantee a long bulb life.
You can see here that it is a flange mount through the 3 holes in the housing. If we take a measurement, the distance that we have between the mount holes going center on center, that's going to give us a measurement of 4-1/4" and those holes are going to be equally spaced. Here on the back of the housing it's going to accept the industry standard 3-prong plug. Those are going to be sold separately. You can pick up a right angle plug with part number A47PB or a straight plug with A45PB and those can be found right here at etrailer.com. It's going to give us an overall diameter, measuring from edge to edge, of 5-1/2" and it's going to give us an overall depth of about 2".
It also meets Department of Transportation's specifications. We're going to go and hook it up to our external power source that way you can what it looks like with some power running to it. All we have to do is take the 3-prong connector, plug it in to the back of the housing. You can see here it's going to send out a really nice consistent signal; this is going to be for the tail light function. Then we can apply our brakes; it's going to make it illuminate for a brighter signal; also serving as the turn signals. That's going to do it for our review of part number ST48RB. This is the sealed, 4" round trailer light from Optronics.

- Troubleshooting One Trailer Light Staying On Anytime Vehicle Is Turned OnI recommend starting with testing the wires coming out of the back of your tail light. On trailer tail lights there should not be a wire that has power when the running lights and or brake/turn signals are not on. Using a circuit tester # PTW2993 see which wire is having constant power causing the light to turn on.
