Today we're going to be taking a look at part number ST37RPG. This is the Optronics Over 80" Aero Pro Submersible Trailer Tail and License Plate Light for the left-hand side of your trailer. You can see here at the base it's got the clear lens. This is going to allow light to come through which is going to cast the light down onto your license plate. This is going to serve eight functions for trailers more than 80" wide such as your stop, turn, tail, rear clearance, rear reflex, side marker, side reflex, and the license plate illuminator. The Aero Pro design is going to deliver a nice, contemporary styling. This is waterproof and corrosion-resistant. One of the neat features about this system is that the bulbs on the inside here are actually going to sit inside of a clear, protective lens or a clear, protective bubble that's located right below this lens.

Again, that's just designed to protect the bulbs from the elements and it's going to allow for a long bulb life. If you ever need to gain access to the inside here, all you have to do is remove these screws. It's going to allow the lens to pop off. Then you'll have to remove four more screws to gain access to the incandescent bulbs to replace those. The bulbs are going to sit in a shock-proof socket that's going to guarantee a long bulb life. Here on the back side, you're going to see that it has three mounting slots, one, two and three. Your mounting hardware is included.

If we take a measurement, the distance between two of the slots, it's going to be right on 2". It's going to be the same for both sets. Then outside slot to outside slot, center-on-center, is going to be 4". This unit is SAE and Department of Transportation compliant. The wiring design is going to feature a white wire which is going to be your ground wire. It has a ring terminal already on there.

Then it's going to feature a plug and go molded plug for a nice, watertight connection to the left of the harness. It's going to feature the two-way molded connector. If we take a look at the overall dimensions, I'm going to focus here on the back because it's a little bit more squared off, easier to get more accurate measurements. Overall length is going to be 7-7/8". The overall width of the light is going to measure 3-1/4. The depth is going to be about 2-7/8". We're going to go ahead and hook this up to our external power supply.

That way you can see what it looks like with power running to it and with our overhead lights turned off. We'll just need to make our connections. Then you can see here this is going to be the tail light function. The clear lens allows some light to come through which is going to cast the light down onto the license plate. Then we apply our brakes, you can see how that brightens up, sending out brighter signal output. That's also going to function as our turn signal.
