The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.
A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

Shane: Hey guys, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Bargman red LED side marker clearance light. It's going to be a two inch by one inch light, it's going to have two LEDs. This is going to be a submersible light, so it's not only going to work well for your trailers, it'll also work well for boat trailers that may. Back on the backside where they would be going down into the water.This is going to be a one wire design, so it's going to be self-grounding, and the self-ground is through the frame on the backside and through these mounting holes. These are going to work with 12-volt systems.
And as you can see, being an LED, they're going to be much brighter than incandescent. Another nice thing about LEDs is they're going to last about 50 times longer than an incandescent bulb, we're not going to have to worry about changing out bulbs like we do with incandescent bulbs. The lens is going to be a very durable polycarbonate lens, so we don't have to worry about it breaking, it's going to hold up in all weather conditions.To start our installation, we went ahead and removed the old light. We already have a hole here. We've got a couple of different ways we can mount it, we can mount it using these two or using this bolt.
We're going to have one wire. If you don't have a hole here, you will need to put one in or drill one like that. And then on the inside, we'll put the nut, and I'm going to go ahead and put a washer on it because that hole is just a little bit bigger than this bolt. That way it'll hold it up there tight.I went ahead and put a couple of screws into the mounting holes on the light itself, and we can test it out, make sure it's working correctly. All you're going to do is wire it to your factory wiring from your previous light.
Once you've tested it, you know everything's working correctly, you're ready to go. That's going to do it for a look at Bargman's red LED side marker clearance light.

I used these to replace the rear clearance lights on 1984 rv. I used stainless steel screws and lock-washers to prevent corrosion and vibrations from causing a poor electrical connection.

I had difficulty finding a Bargman match where I just needed the lens for two tail lights and 2 clearance lights. No one in town carried them and i could not find them on ebay. etrailer had them and all the pertinent information to make sure they were an exact match. I wanted to change out the marker lights on my older truck camper to the same style but with a different type of bulb. The old ones did not allow me to change to LED bulbs because of the +/- connections to the bulbs. With the new ones I was able to switch polarity by simply pulling the bulb and rotating it 180 degrees. Everything worked out as planned.
